After a hot bath, Kyouko and Ryan headed towards the central courtyard of the moon palace. Passing through the garden, they arrived at the gigantic portal that RYan had left open.
Kyouko had not yet entered the village and had only a vague idea of what the landscape would be like there. However, after stepping through the portal and setting foot in that magical world, her expression changed completely. Her jaw dropped, and she could hardly believe her eyes.
The blue sky stretched above, seeming closer than ever, bathing the earth in shimring light. The surrounding landscape was breathtaking beyond any description she could have imagined. It was as if she had entered a realm of dreams, where natural beauty was at its peak.
Several smaller islands floated gracefully around the entrance to the village, like jewels suspended in the air, providing a spectacular sight. On the horizon, a gigantic forest stretched out, with majestic trees rising towards the sky and thousands of birds filling the air with their lodious songs. The serenity of the place was surprising, with no cars or noise, it was just silence.
What had most caught her attention was undoubtedly the difference in height. So clouds were passing under the island, yet she didn't feel any difference in altitude in her body. Her ears weren't feeling the pressure and the temperature didn't even seem very cold. Noticing these signs, she gradually understood the place they were in.
Pulling Ryan by the hand, she led him a few ters ahead, near the drop that led into the forest. Standing near the drop of more than a kiloter, she looked deep into Ryan's eyes with a worried look.
"This place is incredible, but this isn't a domain," she said.
Ryan nodded, "We're in the second world"
Kyouko didn't know how to react to that. Even with all their resources, the Silvermoon clan had never managed to create a portal to the second world, only to that ravine in ti where Ayumi and Yuki had been kept for years. Although she knew it was possible to cross between the two realities, it would take so ti to understand the impact of it all.
The domains made by the Silvermoon clan were amazing, both the Infinite Garden and the Moon Palace itself were lush places that escaped reality. But that forest and those islands that filled the sky defied reality and yet seed extrely realistic.
Looking from one to the other, Kyouko was still speechless. For a mont, she felt a certain fear in her chest, but as the possibilities of what could be done in that place flashed through her mind, she felt a little more relieved.
"Are you sure this is the second world?" She said, as she watched the clouds that passed like a carpet beneath the islands. Hundreds of ters below, it was possible to see the trees moving with the wind, so of which she had never even seen before.
"I know what you're thinking," said Ryan.
*Sigh
Sitting near the end of the island, Ryan stared up at the azure sky. Placing his hands on the ground, he looked up as he explained, "At first I also thought this place was a dungeon or a break in ti, but there are people here. People who can speak and have stories, each of the peasants in this village was born and lives in this world."
The noble lady of the SIlvermoons Kyouko sat down on the grass next to Ryan, and the two of them continued to watch the azure sky of the wind forest. "I trust your decision, my master, only. It's hard to imagine that we're finally mastering new territory. It's a bit exciting but it's also scary, this place can be unstable and there's no guarantee that it's not just a dungeon breach."
Ryan just nodded.
'I know what a portal is like, a person trapped in a portal wouldn't be able to have as many mories as these girls,' he thought.
For a mont, he rembered the conversation he'd had with the ice sovereign and the drift crystal smith. As well as the ti he had faced the boss of the abyss portal. Each of them was dominated by the energy that commanded the portals, they were being ordered to follow a process as if they were NPCS in a ga.
This was proof enough for Ryan that the people in this place were alive and free. At least, everyone he had t so far didn't seem to be under the domination of the one commanding the portals.
Kyouko and Ryan continued talking as they watched the clouds pass by. The flying islands moved from side to side, with streams of air passing through the energy crystals pushing those masses of condensed air. So of the islands had small waterfalls that flowed down until the water elental crystal ran out, although this could take hundreds of thousands of years.
Getting up, the two headed towards Aiden and Brigitte who were still dealing with the construction of the houses for the village. From a distance, Ryan was startled by what he was seeing. Pharah was helping the two craftswon, although it was clear that they were struggling to understand each other.
Nyx said
'Can you understand other won through telepathy?
>In a way, we're talking by telepathy< said Ayumi.
- I can't imagine that this is the example our master wanted," Lux concluded.
"Master! We've almost finished finishing the house," said Brigitte, whose clothes were dirty with a kind of white powder.
"I hope you're enjoying our work, I apologize for not being able to put more ornate details in the town hall," said Aiden, who bowed to apologize.
Ryan shook his head "Don't worry, I'd actually prefer sothing a bit simpler. This place is just getting started," he said with an uncomfortable smile.
'I don't know what the Silvermoons' financial situation is like, but it would be awful to start this village with a debt to pay' he said.
"Master, I don't know how you managed to get such incredible craftswon. They're making luxury houses," said Pharah, who pointed back in surprise.
"Luxury hos?" Ryan asked, confused.
Pharah nodded "This material, it's even better than desert wool. The inside is warm at night but cool during the day. I saw it in a nobleman's house in the northern kingdom of Kazarift."
Pharam's eyes seed to be shining as she observed the thermal insulation Aiden and Brigitte were using. The material resembled a foam with crumbled mana crystals, so it could maintain a constant average temperature and avoid getting too cold or too hot.
'It reminds of sothing I heard when I was younger. Nowadays, the life of an ordinary person is infinitely better than the life of a king,' Ryan thought as he looked at the situation.
