The sensation was like a click for Ryan, who turned around at the sa instant. The cube was there, standing between two iron pillars that kept it loaded. The discomfort Ryan felt in his chest was a little less than when he saw that cube in the sand, still, this was far from a pleasurable experience.
Another Aether erged, standing next to the frightened one. Turning to Ryan, he said.
"I helped set up the portal devourer, now I need your help to stop it."
Ryan crossed both arms, and walking around the iron pillars, he went about assessing how that chanism worked. Carefully, he walked past the cables, as he assessed that machine.
"Ah..." He said, as he looked at the back of it. As that was a mory of Aether, part of the chanism was completely blackened, as the blond had not observed it.
"The guild made public to the S-Ranks the situation with the cube, most travelers are in favor of using the portal devourer. The amount of attacks was more than we could handle in the three cities."
"Did you get to see how they are using that cube?" Ryan said, but Aether shook his head.
Ryan's eyes were clenched like a hunter's, but looking at the blond's face, he seed to be telling the truth.
'So the storage of the portals is still classified information...'
