Chapter 6: Christmas Party at Kashii-san's House

The day after the closing ceremony, at 12 o'clock, Acchan, Kousuke, Koishi, and I gathered near Kashii-san's house.

In the end, Koishi practically begged Acchan on his knees and secured the fourth spot.

With Acchan leading the way, we headed to Kashii-san's house. It was an impressive ho.

When we rang the doorbell, everyone ca out to greet us.

"Thank you for inviting us today."

Acchan politely bowed and expressed his gratitude. The three of us followed suit and repeated the gesture.

I was impressed by Acchan's manners. Kashii-san's house had a spacious living room and dining kitchen, complete with a large TV.

I was nervous about being at a girl's house for the first ti, especially Kashii-san's, but Koishi next to was so overly excited and restless that it snapped back to reality and helped stay calm.

At 12 o'clock, we had lunch, and afterward, we ate Christmas cake.

After the al, we had free ti until 4 PM to watch DVDs, play board gas, or chat as we liked, followed by a gift exchange at 4 PM and disbanding before 5 PM—that was the plan.

The dining table was filled with a feast, and in the center, there was a homade-looking cake prominently displayed, giving off a real Christmas party vibe!

The seating was prearranged so that Acchan and Kousuke were seated next to the girls they were interested in.

Apparently, today's strategy was decided by Kashii-san and her best friend, Obata-san.

Obata-san was a slightly intimidating girl, a cool type.

Kousuke, Girl, Girl, Acchan

Koishi, Obata, Kashii, Tachibana

That was the seating arrangent.

The girls were grouped together, and the boys were separated. This was supposedly to prevent the boys from escaping into conversations just among themselves.

"Koishi is a nuisance. I'll keep him isolated so he doesn't bother Reina."

Obata-san said this with a cold expression. It was a little scary.

After we all toasted, we talked with the people next to us or gathered in small groups for a fun al.

Kousuke was constantly being approached by girls and seed a bit troubled. He kept glancing at for help, but I ignored him this ti. Sorry.

Acchan, while chatting excitedly with the girl next to him, also made sure to include everyone in the conversation, remaining the center of the gathering.

Koishi kept trying to talk to Kashii-san whenever he got the chance, but Obata-san blocked him, and at one point, he was even sent on an errand to the convenience store.

Amidst all this, I was moved by the food. I'm embarrassed to admit it, but it was my first ti eating beef stew. I quietly asked Kashii-san next to .

'Kashii-san, do you not put this on rice?'

'No, you don't. But it goes well with rice! It's delicious with bread too♪'

'It's so, so delicious!'

'I'm glad! Even if it's just flattery, I'm happy! There's more if you want seconds!'

I polished off a second helping in no ti. I wanted more... Seeing my greed, Kashii-san spoke to .

'Tachibana-kun, would you like another serving?'

'Is that okay?!'

'I thought it might be flattery when you said it was delicious, but you really ant it, didn't you?'

'I've never eaten anything this delicious before!'

Kashii-san smiled as she served a third helping. It was truly delicious. Suddenly, I felt embarrassed for overeating at soone else's house.

Afterward, we cut the cake. Kashii-san stayed by my side, though I had never talked to her this much before. Since she's popular and cute, there were always people around her.

'Tachibana-kun, can you eat so cake?'

'Of course! This cake is delicious too! So incredibly delicious!'

'I'm glad! I'm happy you like it! I hope everyone else feels the sa.'

'It's so delicious, I'm sure they're happy too! Like I said earlier, I've never eaten anything this delicious before!'

Kashii-san blushed and smiled twice as brightly as usual.

After that, we all played Smash Bros, Life, and trump while having a great ti. Koishi was the best at Smash Bros, which was frustrating.

Finally, it was ti for the gift exchange.

We drew lots that had been prepared.

I successfully drew Kashii-san's gift!

She told to open it, and when I did, there was a mature-looking pair of gloves inside.

'Thank you, I'll treasure them!'

'I'm glad you like them!'

Afterward, Kashii-san drew my gift.

It was a thin pink ballpoint pen with a silver decoration. It was quite expensive.

'It's cute! Wasn't this pretty pricey?'

'A little. I chose it because the decoration resembled the hair clip you often wear, and I thought it was cute.'

'You picked it out for ? I'm so happy♪ Thank you, Tachibana-kun♪ ...? But didn't you think soone else might get it?'

'I didn't think about that at all...'

I turned bright red from embarrassnt, and Kashii-san smiled at .

At that mont, I thought she looked twice as cute as usual.

Looking back, that's when I fell for Kashii-san.

A scene after that

'Tachibana-kun, are you using the gloves?'

'I'm keeping them safe as a decoration.'

'Use them!'

The gift exchange was completely orchestrated by the girls, with Kashii-san and Obata-san arranging it so that everyone received a gift from the person they were interested in.

'So, we'll make sure it works out for those two... Can I take Tachibana-kun's gift?'

'Sure, but... I get Koishi's gift, huh.'

Koishi's gift was a huge mug, too big to use, and Obata-san got irritated with Koishi again.
