The next mont, Li Yanan's hand reached out to her, turning Lin Zhenxin's body towards him, his large palm resting on the back of her head, burying her face into his chest.

As Lin Zhenxin was thinking, the man who had been lying beside her was now supporting himself on both sides of her, looking down from above.
The room wasn't lit, but the vibrant city neon lights refracted in from outside. Lin Zhenxin saw that he wanted to lean down, and instinctively raised a hand against his chest.
Clearly, she knew in her heart that this was a marital obligation, but her body was more honest than her mind.

Lin Zhenxin finally t the aunt Li Yanan ntioned last night, a woman in her forties or fifties, whom she called Aunt Xu.
Aunt Xu was very efficient. When Grandma said she wanted to eat dumplings, Lin Zhenxin didn't expect Aunt Xu to prepare the ingredients without another word, and by noon, she had wrapped a batch of dumplings for Grandma. The delicate pleats made Lin Zhenxin truly admire her.
With Aunt Xu around, Lin Zhenxin no longer worried about who would take care of Grandma when both she and Li Yanan were not ho.
Back in her room, she was now more concerned about the banquet that evening.
She took out the dress Li Yanan had given her the night before, so beautiful that Lin Zhenxin couldn't take her eyes off it.
A Tiffany blue knee-length cocktail dress, elegant and charming. Not to ntion the glimring drapes of tiny diamonds that refract from the sunlight, the non-revealing shoulder and back design ant Lin Zhenxin didn't have to worry about exposing her scars.
Instinctively, she touched her uneven back, forcing herself not to recall the past.
Now she was doing well in life. Though Grandma could no longer be as before, at least she was still by her side.
She had a job, and a small amount of savings.
She was married, with a husband who had a terrible sense of fashion but was downright handso beyond words.
What was there to resent?
Thinking this way, her eyes swept over to the magazine she bought a few days ago.
On the cover, the photo of a mother and daughter was breathtaking, their lavish attire and intimate interaction were palpable, even through the printed page!
Lin Zhenxin looked at the magazine with cold eyes, her pale fingers clutching tightly!
There was a sharp crashing sound as she fiercely threw the magazine onto the floor...
An hour and a half before the banquet, a car arrived downstairs to pick her up.
Fortunately, Li Yanan had already called to inform Lin Zhenxin, so she was prepared early and didn't keep the driver waiting long.
The cashre coat warded off much of the chill, and after getting in the car, her anxious heart felt much calr.
