"If we get married, I hope you can resign and focus on taking care of ." The other person's voice was serious with a touch of arrogance.
Lin Zhenxin tried to maintain a smile on her face. At this speed dating event organized by the matchmaking agency, everyone had their own designated number tag, and she was number 21.
The surroundings were chaotic, and the elite man across from her kept prattling on.
"I am currently a departnt manager, with my career on the rise. Of course, I haven't bought a house or a car yet, but if we get married, we'll split the down paynt, and the property deed must have only my na on it. Also, it's a must that my parents move in with us after marriage..."
Lin Zhenxin's gaze fell outside the window, and the man's voice went in one ear and out the other.
"I'm sorry, sir, but I think we shouldn't waste each other's ti." Sighing, she finally stood up, deciding to end this ridiculous eting. Having said that, she didn't care about his expression and headed outside the venue with her bag.
Actually, Lin Zhenxin didn't have high expectations for today, so she wasn't really disappointed.
The phone rang, and the caller ID 'Yao Lemon' jumped out, one of her few close friends.
"How did the speed dating go? Any decent prospects?" The voice was full of energy.
Lin Zhenxin briefly recounted the process, and before she finished speaking, Yao Lemon was already laughing so hard she nearly lost her breath.
"Manager? What's so great about a manager? You could walk down Huaiyang Street, and an advertising board could fall and kill ten or eight of them— all managers..."
While Yao Lemon kept talking on the other end, Lin Zhenxin's attention shifted elsewhere.
A man unexpectedly entered her line of sight.
And the reason this man caught her attention was because of his horribly unfashionable outfit.
A drab dark gray suit, most of his features hidden under thick glasses beneath his ssy hair, and his tall figure standing there. It had been many years since Lin Zhenxin had seen soone with such poor taste in clothing!
"Take a look at yourself in the mirror! Don't be a toad trying to eat swan at, okay?" The arrogant woman standing in front of the man spoke loudly, attracting curious looks from nearby onlookers.
Throughout, the man's expression remained wooden, making it hard to read.
"If my parents weren't pressuring , I would never see a man like you even if I were dead!"
Lin Zhenxin had been watching all along, and hearing this, she finally understood that the man was probably here for a blind date, just like herself. But when she looked around him, she couldn't find a number tag like the one she held.
Let's just call him Mr. Naless for now.
"I don't believe any woman would be blind enough to like you!" The sharp, shrill voice rang out repeatedly.
"Lin Zhenxin, I'm talking to you! What are you daydreaming about?" Finally, not getting any response, Yao Lemon shouted loudly, snapping Lin Zhenxin back to reality. Uncertain if it was because she had been standing not far from the two, the man lifted his head and glanced at her.
There was no anger from being publicly humiliated; Lin Zhenxin could see clearly that Mr. Naless's expression was as calm as ever.
She wasn't the type to ddle in others' affairs, yet for so reason, when his eyes swept over her, an inexplicable feeling compelled her to walk towards the two of them.
"Lemon, I have sothing to do here, I'll talk to you later." Having said that, she hung up the phone without waiting for Yao Lemon's reaction.
