Then the air shifted—a sharp, electric ripple that cut through the lee. From a side passage, Yui Raki and Kimi erged, their presence commanding instant attention. Their sleek black tech suits flickered with energy fields, their belts lined with gas canisters that hissed faintly as they moved.

Yui’s gauntlets emitted a cold, violet glow, the sharp lines of his suit catching the flickering light of the damaged control panels.

Kimi’s armor, edged with pink highlights, glinted as she moved with cat-like agility.

In a blur of speed, Yui surged forward, his palm strikes landing with precision. Culdrin’s bone armor cracked beneath the assault, each blow echoing through the hub.

The jagged plates splintered and fell away, the impact reverberating across the chamber. Yui sneered, his voice dripping with disdain.

"End this pathetic rebellion," he said coldly, his tone dismissing the rogues as nothing more than a nuisance. A stray plasma round shot toward him, only to be absorbed by the faintly glowing shields on his gauntlets.

Kimi darted through the chaos, her movents unnervingly smooth, almost playful. Her suit’s enhanced agility turned her into a blur, and she laughed lightly as if the battle were nothing more than a ga.

"Yui, don’t be so grumpy—let’s wrap this up!" she teased. In one fluid motion, she tossed a canister into the fray. The mont it detonated, a shimring cloud burst forth, forcing Jasmine’s mist Ikona to recoil. The silvery haze withdrew, rippling against the foreign gas, as the clash of forces in the hub reached a boiling point.

Vira’s serpent Ikona coiled and lashed out, crimson tendrils snapping like whips through the charged air. "You’ll bleed for this, Raki," she snarled, her voice sharp and venomous, her shard flaring a deep, pulsing red. The serpent surged toward Yui’s throat, its movents fluid, deadly, driven by the weight of her vendetta.

Around them, the hub spiraled into chaos. Elias felt the thrum of his own shard intensify, Dot’s hum climbing in pitch as if it could sense his rising panic.

Beside him, Junjio froze, his portal Ikona dim and wavering. The boy’s wide eyes were fixed on the erupting violence, his fra trembling as the weight of it all threatened to crush him.

Asurik’s magma Ikona burned brighter, molten light spilling across the slick floor. "Push through!" he barked, his voice a deep growl, the tone of soone who had faced one too many impossible battles. "Junjio, get that portal open!"

The heat from his Ikona rippled outward, cutting through the damp chill of the hub, but the intensity of the fight only deepened. Plasma rounds seared the air in bright, deadly streaks. Ikona clashed against tech, the chamber a cacophony of destruction. Cube X’s very future teetered on the edge.

Elias hesitated, his steps faltering as a wave of mories rushed to the forefront. Kikaru’s fierce distrust, Faye’s trembling fear, Tidwell’s raw defiance, Paul’s quiet unease, Wes’s steady determination—all of their faces, their Ikona dimming under the nets’ relentless Soul Energy drain.

Their skin had gone pale, their light fading like flickering candles in a storm. The prompt hovering in his view burned brighter—20 minutes remaining—its glow a constant, heavy reminder. He scanned the hub, desperate for a solution.

Through Jasmine’s swirling mist Ikona, he glimpsed a guard lining up a shot at her unprotected back. The plasma rifle’s charge built with a high-pitched whine, the energy crackling at its barrel. Culdrin, just ters away, reeled from Yui’s relentless assault.

His bone armor splintered further with each strike, the fractures spreading like spiderwebs across his once-imposing shield. Vira’s serpent recoiled, its aggressive montum checked by the haze of Kimi’s gas, the tendrils pulling back as if stung.

The balance of the battle shifted second by second, each mont drawing Elias closer to a choice he wasn’t ready to make.

Junjio’s voice broke through the chaos, thin and pleading. "Elias, I—I can’t do it, not with all this fighting!"

His portal Ikona shimred weakly, its faint ring struggling to hold steady. His hands trembled violently, one half-raised in an attempt to conjure the portal’s opening, the other gripping the air where he needed the exit to form.

The effort was visible in the boy’s straining posture, his frayed jacket barely holding together as he fought to maintain focus.

Elias stepped in, one hand steadying Junjio’s shoulder. "You can do it, Junjio," he said firmly, his voice cutting through the boy’s rising panic. "Focus—your dad’s counting on you, and so are we." Elias’s own doubts scread in the back of his mind, but he buried them. The prompt ticked relentlessly in his peripheral vision—18 minutes remaining.

His shard pulsed harder, like a second heartbeat pounding in his chest. He couldn’t let Junjio’s resolve falter. If the portal didn’t stabilize, they were as good as trapped. And if Elias couldn’t choose who to save...

He pushed the thought aside as the battle raged on around them. Jasmine turned sharply, her mist Ikona surging forward. It wrapped around the guard’s plasma rifle before he could fire, yanking it free and sending it clattering to the blood-slick floor. Her voice rang out, clear and commanding, cutting through the din.

"Focus on the suits!" she barked, her eyes snapping to Yui and Kimi. The mist around her shifted, curling with precision, her movents sharp and deliberate. She wasn’t just fighting; she was leading.

Nearby, Culdrin let out a guttural roar, his bone-clad fist slamming into the floor with thunderous force. The impact sent a shockwave outward, staggering the guards and sending debris skittering across the chamber. Yui barely stumbled, his speed unrelenting.

His gauntlets flared bright as he closed the distance, delivering a palm strike that sent Culdrin sliding backward. Bone shards splintered from his armor, scattering in sharp fragnts across the floor.

The chamber groaned under the strain—pipes overhead rattling, plasma leaks spraying faint, glowing mist. The acrid stench of burned flesh mixed with the heavy tang of ozone, turning the air into a choking haze.
