54: Chapter 54: The Innocent Girl
As he rode the elevator up, Lin Yifan felt sothing strange.
He detected a particular scent in the air, a sense of a special power that was very similar to his own.
“Could it be that the landlady is a cultivation master?” Lin Yifan wondered incredulously.
Similarly, the old lady also noticed that the young man beside her was out of the ordinary; however, she couldn’t put her finger on why, which was very odd.
“Perhaps I’m overthinking it,” she mused to herself and dismissed the thought.
The elevator soon reached the eighth floor; at that mont, the landlady led Lin Yifan to view the apartnt.
There were two apartnts on the eighth floor, one on the left and one on the right; the vacant one was on the left, so Lin Yifan followed the landlady to the left apartnt.
Upon entering the room, Lin Yifan found it to be very tidy and clean, with a hint of luxury in the decor.
Beautiful tiles covered the entire room, and the ceiling was specially designed.
Besides, there was a bathtub in the bathroom, and the sink was made of various ceramics; even the wardrobes and bed were branded.
The overall decoration was certainly not done halfway.
If you lived here, it would be just like staying in a hotel, with no discernible difference.
“Landlady, are you sure it’s only 2,000 yuan a month?” Lin Yifan asked, sowhat astonished.
He had just visited other rental properties, and even those with inferior decorations charged 2,500 yuan, so he wasn’t quite sure about the price.
“Yes,” the landlady assured him with certainty.
“Why is such a beautiful apartnt only 2,000 yuan a month?” Lin Yifan asked curiously.
“Money is an external possession, and at my age, there’s not much use for too much of it; so I figured I might as well lower the price and let more young people live in better houses.
It’s a way to accumulate good fortune for myself,” the landlady replied.
“Landlady, you are so kind!
I represent all the young people working away from ho when I say thank you,” Lin Yifan said.
He bowed politely, full of gratitude.
“No need to be so polite, no need to be so polite,” the landlady insisted.
The landlady quickly helped the bowing Lin Yifan to stand up straight, feeling undeserving of such a grand gesture.
After helping Lin Yifan upright, she looked at him with increased appreciation.
Such a sunny and polite young man was indeed an excellent choice for a tenant.
Lin Yifan had no idea that he had caught the eye of the landlady; he still thought that their relationship was rely that of tenant and landlord.
Naively, he said, “Landlady, I’ll take the apartnt.
Let’s sign the lease now.”
This place was the closest rental to Golden Sand Bay, plus the facilities were good and the price was so low, he had no reason to refuse.
“Are you sure?
Do you want to look around again?” the landlady inquired.
“No need, I’ve seen everything very clearly,” Lin Yifan replied.
“Well then, let’s sign the lease now.”
With that, the landlady took out a set of contracts from a bag; two copies for Lin Yifan to sign.
After signing, Lin Yifan quickly took care of the lease, but he soon realized an embarrassing problem – he didn’t bring any cash.
“Landlady, I don’t have any cash on ; could you wait for ?
I’ll go to the bank and get the money for you now,” Lin Yifan said.
“It’s all right, no hurry.
Whenever you get the money, you can give it to ,” the landlady answered kindly.
“Thank you, landlady.
I’ll go get the money for you in a bit.”
Since the landlady trusted him so much, Lin Yifan couldn’t drag the rent issue out for too long.
Plus, he decided he would move in that very evening, so he would take out the money on the way.
“Suit yourself, I’m not in a rush anyway.”

After concluding the discussion about the rent, Lin Yifan imdiately went downstairs, got into his car, and drove off.
Seeing Lin Yifan drive a Maserati, the elderly grandmother was very puzzled, “This kid is so rich, why does he want to stay at my place?
Could he have so ulterior motives towards my treasure?”

He had been busy since noon and was both tired and hungry; he needed to eat sothing to fill his stomach.
The street food stall was bustling, with hardly any empty seats.
He chose a table close by, then scanned the nu; after spotting a few dishes, he called the waitress over.
“Waitress!”
The mont he finished speaking, a fresh and simple girl ca over to serve him.
“Sir, what would you like to order?” the innocent girl asked.
Upon hearing this tender voice, Lin Yifan was taken aback, sowhat dazed.
This was his first ti hearing such a tender voice; it was like a direct hit to his soul.
He was curious about what the waitress looked like, so he lifted his head and looked to the left.
He saw a fresh and simple, charming girl standing before him.
Although her dress was plain, it couldn’t hide her youthful beauty.
Lin Yifan was deeply attracted and then just stared blankly at the girl with an innocent face.
Seeing Lin Yifan staring at her without saying a word, the innocent girl felt sowhat shy and asked, “Sir, what’s wrong?”
“Ah?” Lin Yifan ca to his senses, speaking with imnse awkwardness, “It’s nothing, nothing.”
“Then, may I ask what you would like to order?”
“I’ll have a tomato and scrambled egg, and a portion of ‘Twice-cooked pork with green peppers’,” Lin Yifan replied, straightening up.
“Alright!
Please wait a mont.”
With that, the innocent girl took the nu to the kitchen to call for the chef to prepare the dishes.
After a while, Lin Yifan’s dishes were ready.
At this ti, the innocent girl brought over all the food politely saying, “Sir, please enjoy your al!”
Even today, such service attitude at a street food stall was truly impressive.
Lin Yifan was very pleased and began to eat.
Soon, a group of rowdy youths with extravagant hairstyles arrived, laughing and joking loudly; they sat down rudely on the chairs and then shouted, “Waitress, co here!”
Hearing a custor calling, the innocent girl ca out again with a pen and paper in hand.
Approaching the table of the rowdy youths, she asked as politely as ever, “Gentlen, what would you like to order?”
“Gentlen?
Ha ha!”
Hearing this word, the group of rowdy youths burst into loud laughter; clearly, they found it hilarious to be addressed as such.
The innocent girl was confused, not understanding why this group of rowdy youths had such a big reaction, and then hesitantly asked, “Gentlen, did I say sothing wrong?”
“Nothing’s wrong, ‘Miss’!”
“Ha ha!!”
The group of rowdy youths laughed even louder, emphasizing the word “Miss” with a tone that clearly suggested another aning.
