275: Chapter 275: Searching for Evidence (Part 1)
After the police left, Zhou Jiajia was completely dazed, muttering to herself, “How could this have happened?
Who could have done this?”
“Who else could it be but that old, undying An Gang!” Lin Yifan answered.
Aside from An Gang, no one else would want to fra An Qi and Antian Group.
“Mr.
An!
The notice has…has arrived.” Chen Hua had brought the notice to the warehouse last night, only to find that the general manager was no longer there, and was utterly bewildered.
“Where…where is the general manager?” he asked Lin Yifan and Zhou Jiajia, although he already knew the answer in his heart.
“Mr.
An was taken away by the police,” Zhou Jiajia replied despondently.
“Why?
Why arrest soone without any clear investigation?” Chen Hua asked in confusion.
The general manager had been good to him, and he really didn’t want any harm to co to the general manager because of his own mistakes.
“The drugs were found on the spot, what more is there to say?” Zhou Jiajia answered helplessly.
Now, An Qi really couldn’t clear herself even if she jumped into the Yellow River.
“Let
see that notice,” Lin Yifan called out.
Everything pointed back to this piece of paper, so he needed to scrutinize it carefully.
Chen Hua quickly handed over the notice for Lin Yifan to examine.
Lin Yifan was Mr.
An’s personal bodyguard, akin to a favored courtier by the Emperor, deeply trusted by Mr.
An, thus a trustworthy person.
Lin Yifan took the notice and examined it in his hands.
At that mont, Zhou Jiajia also leaned in; however, when she saw the notice, she was imdiately stunned, “Isn’t this the paper on which Zhao Ritian gave to Ms.
An Qi for signing and stamping to annul the marriage agreent yesterday afternoon?
How did it end up here?
And why has the content changed, and where are Zhao Ritian’s signature and the Zhao Group’s stamp?
Where have they gone?”
She was bewildered, truly puzzled; she had felt sothing was off about this agreent yesterday, but couldn’t pinpoint what; and now, today, disaster had struck.
She sensed that there must be a huge conspiracy behind this.
“Jiajia, have you seen this paper before?” Lin Yifan curiously asked.
“Yes!
Yesterday afternoon, Zhao Ritian brought two identical sheets of paper for Ms.
An Qi to sign and stamp; one was in Ms.
An Qi’s hands, one in Zhao Ritian’s; and this one might be the one Zhao Ritian took away yesterday,” Zhou Jiajia answered.
“It looks like that wastrel Zhao Ritian and that old, undying An Gang have tead up,” Lin Yifan murmured to himself, then asked, “Jiajia, you just ntioned that the original content on this paper was about Zhao Ritian and An Qi dissolving their marriage engagent.
What exactly is going on here?”
“I was uneasy yesterday, worried there might be so deceit, so I asked Ms.
An Qi for the agreent to check, and I found that the content of the annulnt agreent was handwritten, and strangest of all, the Zhao Group’s stamp seed to have been applied with ink,” Zhou Jiajia answered.
“Handwritten content, a stamp applied with ink, could it be…” Lin Yifan suddenly thought of sothing.
“Could it be what?” Seeing Lin Yifan’s sudden insight, Zhou Jiajia curiously asked.
She felt that Lin Yifan must have thought of sothing.
However, Lin Yifan did not answer her question but instead asked the warehouse manager Chen Hua, “Chen Hua, does the factory cafeteria have an ultraviolet disinfection lamp?”
“Yes!” Chen Hua answered without hesitation.
“Take
to the cafeteria imdiately!” Lin Yifan ordered.
“Alright!” Chen Hua did not know why Lin Yifan wanted to go to the cafeteria, but since Lin Yifan asked to go, there must be a reason.
“Yifan, why go to the cafeteria?
You haven’t answered my question yet.
What have you thought of?” Zhou Jiajia asked as she caught up with him.
“You’ll know once we get to the cafeteria,” Lin Yifan replied, too preoccupied to deal with much else, eager to validate his suspicion.
Seeing Lin Yifan so tense and hurried, Zhou Jiajia did not disturb him further and quietly followed along.
Soon, they arrived at the factory cafeteria.
There, Lin Yifan turned on the cafeteria’s ultraviolet disinfection lamp, then placed the notice under the ultraviolet light to examine it, only to discover traces of tampering.
“This…this…could it be drawn with an invisible ink pen?” Zhou Jiajia asked in surprise.
Seeing the ink marks on the paper, she thought of invisible ink pens.
Because the text written with an invisible ink pen is invisible under normal light, but appears under ultraviolet light.
“Definitely; however, the content inside has already been sared off; it seems Zhao Ritian anticipated that we might think of invisible ink, hence he left this trace,” Lin Yifan frowned deeply, feeling troubled.
The content of the agreent was crucial evidence, but now that it was gone, it was as if the most valuable piece of evidence had vanished; although An Qi also had a copy, he felt that An Qi’s copy must have been tampered with by Zhao Ritian as well.
“What do we do now?” Zhou Jiajia anxiously asked.
“Don’t worry, justice has a way of veneering through every plan, no matter how well laid.
They’ve concocted such a big sche, they surely left so clues,” Lin Yifan first cald Zhou Jiajia’s feelings, then asked Chen Hua, “Where is the factory’s main surveillance room?”
The group of people who committed the cri last night had to appear inside and around the warehouse; and many parts of the factory are equipped with caras; thus, he wanted to use these recordings to find traces and faces of those people to gather evidence.
“Follow , I know where it is!” Zhou Jiajia responded.
She had been around An Qi for so ti, so she knew most parts of the factory well.
Lin Yifan, without another word, followed imdiately; Chen Hua was right behind him.
A few minutes later, after arriving at the factory’s main surveillance room, Lin Yifan began to retrieve the video footage from the cara installed in Warehouse One, around the ti Chen Hua was asked to change shifts last night.
After a cursory observation, he only saw the clothes, stature, and physical features of those people but did not see their faces; because their faces were covered by the projecting parts of the hats they wore.
Upon a more careful observation, he finally noticed sothing suspect.
The last person in the formation, who was wearing a hat and a mask, carried a backpack, which was extrely bizarre; if he were really a factory worker, he would never wear a backpack; moreover, the backpack appeared different when entering and exiting, being more “full” when exiting.
Lin Yifan suspected that when leaving, the backpack likely contained the swapped-out mobile phones and their components.
