"Boom!!!"
The transparent barrier finally couldn't hold on any longer and violently shook a few tis before collapsing, transforming into specks of light that slowly disappeared into the air.
"Whew whew whew!"
Li Fire danced excitedly back and forth in the air.
"The formation has been broken, let's go in now," Gao Fei said as he stepped forward.
Immortal Master Huang hastily followed: "Gao Fei, can I discuss sothing with you? You must agree to it."
"Let's hear it," Gao Fei didn't readily consent: "If it's not too difficult, I'll agree."
"After we enter the cave, may I choose the treasures first?"
"Dream on!"
"I'll just pick three... no, two, I'll just pick two pieces..."
"Not even one."
"You're too heartless."
"Say what you will, I won't agree regardless."
"...Alright, I see you clearly now. From today forward, I definitely won't cooperate with you again," Immortal Master Huang said viciously, soft tactic not working, so he switched to a hard one: "I'll tell you the truth, I know a few other treasure locations that I was thinking of sharing with you..."
"Threatening with that? It won't work!"
Without the formation's obstruction, the two made their way to the cave entrance with ease.
Gao Fei leaned in to take a peek inside but saw nothing. Not giving up, he imdiately activated Clairvoyance: "Ow..." Gao Fei suddenly covered his eyes and quickly stepped back.
"What happened to you?" Immortal Master Huang got a fright.
Gao Fei shook his head without speaking. He had just activated Clairvoyance, intending to scout the inside of the cave, when a sudden burst of malevolent Qi surged out, nearly blinding him. Rubbing his sore eyes, he said, "This cave is no simple affair."
"Huh? Did you discover sothing?" Immortal Master Huang was startled.
"Just now... I felt a burst of malevolent Qi... an extrely horrifying malevolent Qi..." Gao Fei said with lingering fear.
"Malevolent Qi?" Immortal Master Huang turned to look at the cave entrance: "Where's the malevolent Qi? I don't see any?"
"It's inside..."
"Inside?"
Immortal Master Huang bent down and concentrated, sensing cautiously for a mont: "No, there isn't any malevolent Qi!"
"None?" Gao Fei furrowed his eyebrows.
"Indeed, there's none," Immortal Master Huang turned around, looking at Gao Fei with confusion: "Could you be mistaken?"
Was it a mistake? Gao Fei asked himself, then shook his head slightly. It was definitely not a mistake! He had indeed seen a burst of malevolent Qi, and it even attacked him.
"Alright, don't think too much," Immortal Master Huang said with a smile: "Even if there is malevolent Qi in the cave, don't worry too much. I will protect you."
"How much do you know about this cave?" Gao Fei looked up and asked.
"Uh... haven't I already told you? This is the cave of an ancient cultivator."
"That's all?"
"What else do you want to know?"
"I'm having regrets," Gao Fei exhaled: "I really shouldn't have co with you."
"Regrets are easy to deal with," Immortal Master Huang's eyes lit up: "You can leave now, I definitely won't stop you." Saying this, Immortal Master Huang added: "If I stop you, I'll be your grandson."
Gao Fei curled his lip, "If I leave, you can hog all the treasures in the cave yourself."
"Don't say that," Immortal Master Huang shook his head, "I'm not that kind of person..."
Gao Fei was just venting his frustration and didn't really want to leave. Although the cave was filled with dangers, it also concealed treasures. Seeing that Gao Fei hadn't left, disappointnt flickered in Immortal Master Huang's eyes. How he wished Gao Fei would turn around and leave; then he could have all the cave's treasures to himself.
Li Fire led the way, with Gao Fei and Immortal Master Huang following.
After suffering a setback earlier, Gao Fei didn't dare to use his Clairvoyance again. It was really frustrating. Ever since arriving in Elysium, his Clairvoyance had been suppressed repeatedly, which was really getting on his nerves.
The cave was sowhat damp, so places even had droplets hanging, and the air was moldy and particularly pungent.
As it turned out, Gao Fei and Immortal Master Huang's concerns weren't unfounded. After walking for a while, a muffled sound ca from ahead. Gao Fei and Immortal Master Huang quickly stopped in their tracks and stared ahead. A dozen yards away, Li Fire was fighting with a mass of black fog.
Gao Fei and Immortal Master Huang exchanged glances, "There really are traps and chanisms, huh."
It wasn't long before the black fog was defeated by Li Fire, burned off completely without leaving a trace.
With the danger removed, the two continued deeper into the cave.
They had only taken a few steps when there was more noise up ahead. A group of green spiders crawled out, large in size with quick movents, and most importantly, there were many of them. Gao Fei took one look and concluded: the spiders coming towards them were poisonous! They were venomous spiders!
Dealing with the venomous spiders was easy with the power of Li Fire. The real problem was there were too many of them, and Li Fire couldn't cope.
In the blink of an eye, dozens of venomous spiders had broken through Li Fire's defensive and were charging at Gao Fei and Immortal Master Huang.
Immortal Master Huang was about to make a move when Gao Fei pulled him back.
"Let handle this." Gao Fei touched his storage ring, and then hundreds of peculiar bugs appeared in front of him. He pointed at the venomous spiders and uttered a single word, "Go! Have a field day!"
"Buzz, buzz, buzz!!!"
Hundreds of bugs took to the air, swarming towards the venomous spiders.
An amazing scene unfolded...
"Sizzle, sizzle, sizzle..."
The bugs dispersed, two of them taking on one spider. Their attack strategy was simple but effective—one bug distracted the spider from the front while the other circled to the back and bit down. As soon as a bug got a grip... the venomous spiders began to tremble non-stop and let out cries of despair. The spiders shrank visibly and, in a blink of an eye, turned into a pool of thick liquid.
At first, the venomous spiders tried to fight back against the bugs, but eventually, they broke and ran, no longer daring to contend with the bugs.
"Buzz, buzz, buzz!"
The hundreds of bugs relentlessly pursued, biting any spider they caught into submission before moving on to the next one after ensuring it was dead.
Immortal Master Huang was astounded, "These little bugs... are incredible..."
"I've nad them Drug-absorbing Bugs," Gao Fei smiled, "They don't have much else going for them, but they can counteract poisons. No matter what kind of poison it is, once it encounters them, it's not going to end well."
"I used to envy you, even be jealous of you, but now I'm starting to hate you a bit."
"Hate ? Why?"
"Because you're too lucky! You snatch up all the good stuff! How's anyone else supposed to get by!"
"..."
"Can we make a deal?"
"What deal?"
"Next ti we co across sothing good, can you let have it?"
"..." Gao Fei rolled his eyes, "If you find sothing good, would you let have it?"
"No!" Immortal Master Huang nodded definitively.
