16 Chapter 16: Sense of Justice

The police and the robbers refused to give in, and the scene suddenly beca a deadlock.

"Bang!"

In the end, the robbers couldn't help themselves and fired a shot, but their target was not the police outside, but the sales staff inside the jewelry store.

A salesperson fell into a pool of blood, shot in the chest, with blood gushing out, clearly beyond saving.

"Bastards!" Liu ngyao, holding the gaphone, trembled with fury. These robbers were so arrogant, daring to kill in front of the police! It was utterly lawless! Not only was Liu ngyao angry, but the other officers were also filled with righteous indignation.

"Listen up, cops outside, retreat imdiately, or we'll kill all the hostages!" the robbers yelled.

"What should we do?" Liu ngyao turned her head to look at the captain standing behind her, Song Minghui.

Song Minghui's brows were tightly furrowed. "To ensure the safety of the hostages... we can only temporarily retreat..." Sotis being a police officer really felt powerless, having to consider too many things.

"No! We can't retreat!" Liu ngyao shook her head vigorously. "If we retreat, the robbers inside will take the chance to escape from the scene, and it will be harder to catch them!"

"Then what do you suggest we do?" asked Song Minghui with a wry smile. "The robbers are extrely vicious. If we don't retreat, they will surely continue to kill hostages."

At that mont, the robbers inside the jewelry store started shouting again: "I'm counting to three. If you haven't retreated by then, I'll start killing people! One, two..."

"Wait!" Liu ngyao shouted loudly. "You release these sales staff! I'll be your hostage!"

"Liu ngyao, don't be reckless!" Song Minghui's face changed.

Liu ngyao ignored Song Minghui and kept talking to the robbers: "You can't keep an eye on so many hostages, and they're of average social status, which won't be much of a bargaining chip. I'm different; I'm a police officer! My father and my brother are high-ranking officials. If you take as a hostage, the police outside won't dare to hurt you!"

"Liu ngyao, shut up!!!" Song Minghui was desperate. "Soone, pull Liu ngyao down!"

"Swoosh!"

Liu ngyao threw down the gaphone and directly dashed into the jewelry store, where she was then subdued by the robbers.

"It's over... we're done for..." Song Minghui swayed, almost fainting; Liu ngyao was under special protection by direct orders from senior leaders. If anything happened to her, he could kiss his position as captain goodbye, and he might even be dismissed.

Standing in the distance, Gao Fei saw everything unfold before his eyes and nodded secretly: Liu ngyao really had a sense of justice! She risked her life alone to ensure the safety of the hostages; it was rare indeed.

...

Inside the jewelry store.

Five masked n surrounded Liu ngyao and laughed heartily.

"This chick is quite a beauty!"

"Look at that face, that figure... she's absolutely supre grade!"

"We're in luck today, boys, we get to enjoy ourselves!"

The five n laughed together.

"I'm already in here, can you release those sales staff now?" asked Liu ngyao coldly.

"Don't rush," smiled one bald man. "Once the police outside have fully retreated, I'll release these hostages. As for you... heh... I'll take you with and you can warm my bed." As he spoke, the bald man reached out to touch Liu ngyao's face. "Tsk, tsk, I've never seen such a beautiful woman in my life."

"The police are coming in!" Liu ngyao suddenly shouted.

"What?" The five masked n were startled and hurriedly turned to look at the doorway. The police were standing obediently outside, not rushing in at all. Damn, they were tricked! By the ti the five n realized it, it was already too late.

"Bang!"

Liu ngyao leapt high, swiftly kicking twice, then threw a punch, knocking three of the n to the ground on the spot. The remaining two n realized sothing was wrong and tried to shoot, "Swoosh!" Liu ngyao threw her phone, striking a man right in the temple. His eyes rolled back, and he collapsed to the floor. "Boom!" The last man fired his gun, but missed Liu ngyao.

"Whoosh!"

Liu ngyao swiftly circled behind the man and clenched her fists, smashing down hard on the back of the man's neck.

"Ugh..."

The last man moaned in pain and then fell to the ground.

Liu ngyao wiped the sweat from her forehead. That was too close for comfort; she had nearly died! The reason she had gone in was to take the robbers by surprise and subdue them. Now, it seed she had succeeded.

Just as she was about to call her colleagues to co in and capture the robbers, sothing unexpected happened.

"Don't move!" A man's cold voice ca from behind. "Make one wrong move, and I'll kill her!"

Liu ngyao slowly turned around and saw a man in a jewelry store uniform holding a dagger to a female sales clerk's neck. Liu ngyao's face sank imdiately; despite all her calculations, she had not anticipated that another robber was still hidden inside the jewelry store.

Too careless!

A grave miscalculation!

This had turned into a dire situation!

"Throw the gun away! Now! Throw it!!" the man with the dagger bellowed angrily, "Do it now, or I'll kill her!!!"

*SMACK!*

Under the man's threat, Liu ngyao could only throw the pistol she had snatched from the bandit onto the ground, having the responsibility and obligation as a police officer to ensure the safety of the hostages.

"Get up, all of you! A bunch of useless trash!" The man yelled at the five bandits lying on the ground: "Lucky I was prepared with a backup plan, otherwise, we'd all be done for today!" By the tone of this man, he seed to be the leader of these bandits.

The five bandits struggled to their feet, each with a bruised face and unsteady steps, looking extrely wretched.

"You stinking woman, how dare you plot against us!" A bald brute charged at Liu ngyao and aid a kick at her.

Liu ngyao dodged swiftly, avoiding the bald brute's attack.

"Oh, you dare to dodge!" Just as the bald brute was about to pursue her, he was stopped by the man with the dagger.

"Enough! No more ssing around!" The man with the dagger snapped, "Hurry up and negotiate with the cops outside. Tell them to pull out within a minute, or else I'll kill all the hostages in here!"

"Yes." The bald man complied and then went to the door to start negotiating with the police, showing that he was very afraid of the man with the dagger.

"Tie up this female cop!" the man with the dagger ordered, "Tie her up tight. This female cop is highly skilled; we absolutely cannot give her another chance to fight back." Saying this, the man with the dagger glared at Liu ngyao, who was seething with anger, "You'd better not resist, or else I will kill these hostages!"

Two brutes approached and used the rope they had prepared to tie up Liu ngyao.

Liu ngyao's expression was darkly ominous, knowing... her situation was extrely dangerous, and if she didn't find a way to save herself soon... the consequences would be unimaginable...

At this mont, the bald brute returned from negotiating with the police, "Big Brother, the cops outside have agreed to withdraw."

"Hurry up and pack, as soon as the police have pulled out, we'll leave imdiately," the man with the dagger said, and then added, "Take this female cop with us. She might prove very useful in a crunch." The man with the dagger liked to have contingency plans, and it was because of his caution that he had evaded capture ti and again.

"Big Brother, the police have left," the bald man, continually scanning the outside, reported urgently to his leader when he saw that all the police had retreated.

"Let's go!" The man with the dagger stood up, pushing Liu ngyao towards the door, with the other five brutes following behind.

After leaving the jewelry store, the gang boarded a van that they had prepared in advance.

The man with the dagger pushed Liu ngyao down onto the seat and then placed the dagger against her fair neck, saying viciously, "You'd better behave yourself. If I find you making any sudden move, I will cut your throat and send you to serve the King of Hell!"

"Hmph!" Liu ngyao turned her head away, completely ignoring the man with the dagger.

"Drive! Let's get out of here!" the man with the dagger ordered.

"Aye," the bald brute started the engine quickly and drove the van towards the exit. Once they were out of the city, they wouldn't have to fear the police pursuit anymore.

...

Several hundred ters away.

A group of police were huddled together, discussing their strategy.

"We must rescue Liu ngyao!" exclaid Song Minghui, the captain of the criminal investigation team, "If anything happens to Liu ngyao, we'll all be disciplinary action!"

"Block all the intersections, we cannot let the bandits escape!"

"We don't have enough manpower..."

"Call headquarters, ask them to send reinforcents! In short, no matter the cost, we have to rescue Liu ngyao!"

"Yes!"

Policen imdiately began contacting headquarters, requesting backup.

Song Minghui looked in the direction of the departing van, feeling incredibly tense, "Dear God, please ensure Liu ngyao's safety!"

...

Inside the van.

The group of bandits were chatting rrily.

"We made quite a haul this ti."

"Not only did we get the gold, but we also caught a great beauty. Heh, tonight, I'm going to enjoy myself."

"What are you thinking, the beauty is for the Big Brother, we can't touch her!"

"No problem," the man with the dagger laughed heartily, "After I've had my fun, I'll hand her over to you guys. You can do whatever you want with her then." He added, "After we sell off this jewelry, I'll take you all on a trip abroad, for big als and sleeping with foreign won! You'll have the ti of your lives!" It had to be said, the guy was pretty good at winning hearts.

"Long live Big Brother!" the five bandits cheered in unison.
