Dennis leaned back against the sofa, watching Rika reply to Bella’s ssage. He turned to look at Daisy beside him, who was already looking back at him. One thing was certain: no matter what happened, the two of them were ready to face it.

They weren’t worried about Destiny either; the baby was clearly safer with six individuals whose powers far exceeded those of any human. Once Rika finished her reply, she set her smartphone back on the table and leaned back, pulling Mr. Fudge onto her lap again. Her face looked exhausted.

"Seriously, that’s just like Bella. I told her from the start that Chris was a nightmare, but she went ahead with it anyway. Pathetic. I told her over and over, but back then she was so stubborn... it’s seriously annoying. Now that it’s turned out like this, she’s the one in a bind, isn’t she? It’s a ss," Rika said, clearly fed up.

"What exactly is the deal with Bella’s new boyfriend anyway?" Daisy asked, her curiosity piqued.

Rika fell silent. She picked up her smartphone, opened her chat history with Bella, and slid the device toward Dennis and Daisy so they could read it for themselves. Dennis scrolled up, scanning the logs between Rika and Bella starting from four months ago. It turned out that after dating for a while, Bella had discovered that Chris was incredibly possessive; he controlled her every move, isolated her from her friends—including Rika—and frequently checked her phone in secret.

He also liked to bring over friends with shady backgrounds. Whenever they visited, Bella chose to lock herself in her room. Her reason was that Chris’s friends had a strange way of looking at her, as if they were stripping her naked with their eyes, and Chris never once stood up for her even though she had told him about it.

Further down the history, it ntioned several girls showing up at the house—so carrying babies, others heavily pregnant—looking for Chris and demanding he take responsibility. Naturally, Bella was terrified and tried to ignore it, but she eventually began to keep a close watch on Chris and started investigating him.

The results of her digging showed that Chris had a specific dating profile targeting girls aged 15 to 18, as well as unmarried won or single divorcees, like Bella. It perfectly matched the types of girls who kept showing up at the house; in other words, Chris was cheating on her repeatedly. But what made Dennis and Daisy shudder was reading the logs from the past month.

Bella said she felt unsafe with Chris, even while admitting he took good care of her because he was wealthy and was never physically abusive toward her. Then there were the late nights; Chris would go out and sotis return in the morning covered in blood. Every ti Chris ca ho at dawn, news would break about a woman found dead by the roadside, supposedly attacked by a monster.

That was why Bella had grown so afraid and intended to show up at Brad’s wedding, hoping Brad would take her back so she could escape Chris. But Chris had ended up picking her up instead. The final ssage from yesterday revealed that Bella said she was going to drop sothing off at Dennis’s place because he was the only one she could trust.

"Hmm... so that’s how it is. No wonder he attacked when I ran into him at the mall. You rember that, honey?" Dennis muttered, turning to look at Daisy.

"Yeah, I rember it vividly. He knew you were Bella’s childhood friend, didn’t he? Then he just went on the attack. Luckily, you’re stronger than him," Daisy answered.

"Oh, so that actually happened? That ans you two have already t Chris," Rika said.

"Yeah, we t. Ivan and Sasha were there too because we ran into them that day, so they saw exactly what kind of guy Chris is," Dennis replied.

"What was their take on him?" Rika asked.

"According to Ivan, they were a good match... now I’m wondering if Ivan ant they looked good together or if they were a match because they’re both troublemakers. I’ll have to ask Ivan what he really ant back then," Dennis answered.

"I’m betting on the second one—both of them are troublemakers," Rika countered.

"But honestly, when I saw Chris, I just didn’t like him, even though he seed nice and acted friendly," Daisy added.

"Yeah, you’re right, honey. But since I’m the type of person who rarely trusts anyone, well... it’s clear I don’t buy that he’s nice and friendly. It felt like a manipulation because he wanted sothing," Dennis said.

"Have you actually t Chris yourself, Rika?" Daisy asked.

"I have. Bella introduced us once, but luckily my husband was there at the ti, so he didn’t act up and just talked to him instead. But honestly, I didn’t like the way he looked at —there was just sothing off about his eyes," Rika answered.

"Well, that’s good then," Daisy replied.

"But the thing that’s still a huge question mark for is, why did Bella leave Destiny at your place? What was her goal, and why you two? I an, was it really just because you guys can be trusted?" Rika asked, lost in thought.

"As for that, we won’t really know until the person herself tells us the reason why," Dennis answered.

"Maybe she figured Destiny would be safe with us, considering Dennis caught Chris’s hand when he attacked him and Bella saw it clearly—so she knows Dennis is stronger than Chris," Daisy replied with a hint of pride.

"But the two of you are here? What if Chris finds out Destiny was left at your place? Can your three triplet sisters handle him?" Rika asked.

"Ah... you don’t need to worry about them, right honey?" Dennis asked, turning to look at Daisy beside him.

"Yep, don’t worry. Destiny is safe with them," Daisy answered.

"Are you serious? Because from what I’ve seen, they seem pretty ordinary—sorry if I’m wrong," Rika replied.

"Trust , they are far from being called ordinary, right honey?" Dennis asked.

"Yep, exactly. In fact, they’re a long way from ordinary, hehe," Daisy answered.

anwhile, back at the apartnt, Diana, Dahlia, Donna, Deborah—who was holding Destiny—Dulcia, and Daphne were sitting on the living room sofa, watching television and feeding Destiny.

"Achoo!" Suddenly, Diana, Deborah, and Dulcia sneezed at the exact sa ti.

"Bless you," Dahlia said.

"Whoa, how are you guys so synchronized that you can sneeze together like that?" Donna asked.

"Hey... Deborah, you sneezed while you were feeding Destiny. What if she catches sothing from you?" Daphne asked worriedly.

"Relax, I know when I’m sick, and that definitely wasn’t because of a cold," Deborah answered while holding the milk bottle for Destiny as she drank.

"Feels like soone is talking about us," Diana said, rubbing her nose.

"Hmm... maybe," Dulcia added, also rubbing hers.

"Ding... dong," the apartnt doorbell rang. All six of them imdiately turned toward the door.

"Did soone order sothing?" Donna asked.

"Not ," Dahlia replied.

"No one ordered anything. Just go see who it is; Destiny was crying pretty loud earlier, maybe it’s a neighbor," Deborah said.

"Okay, I’ll check," Dulcia replied.

Dulcia tapped her watch and transford into Daisy, then walked to the door and peered through the peephole. She saw two n in button-down shirts and sunglasses, looking a bit rough, standing outside. Dulcia opened the door.

"Yes?" Dulcia asked, eyeing the two n.

"Hey... did soone leave a baby here yesterday or not?" one of the n asked rudely.

Dulcia observed the two n in front of her and smiled, then leaned against the doorfra to block the entrance.

"Who are you guys? Police?" Dulcia asked casually.

"You think the cops dress like this, huh?" the man asked, annoyed.

"Then are you the baby’s parents?" Dulcia asked again, still relaxed.

"Of course not. We don’t have kids," the second man answered.

"Then are you sent by the baby’s parents?" Dulcia asked once more, perfectly relaxed.

"No. I don’t know whose baby it is, I was just told to go get it," the second man replied.

"Then doctors?" Dulcia asked one last ti.

"Look at us. Do we look like doctors to you? Hurry up and stop wasting our ti. Just give us the baby; we don’t have all day," the first man said, pointing at his face as he took off his sunglasses.

"Hmm... okay then," Dulcia said.

Before the two n could say another word, Dulcia’s hands shot out, grabbing their collars and yanking them both into the apartnt before slamming the door. Then ca the sounds of shouting, punches, and the thud of sothing falling. Inside, Dulcia dusted off her hands as if cleaning them. The two tough-looking n who had shown up were now sprawled helplessly on the floor, unconscious.

"If you’re not the police, not the parents, not sent by the parents, and not doctors either, then you’re criminals. Drop dead," Dulcia said casually with a smile.

Diana, Donna, Daphne, Dahlia, and Deborah—still holding Destiny—imdiately ran to the door. They saw the two n sprawled on the floor in front of the entrance, while Dulcia leaned against the door with her arms folded.

"Looks like they were after Destiny," Dulcia said casually.

"Hoo... interesting," Diana, Dahlia, Donna, Deborah, and Daphne replied, wearing wide smiles that looked a bit far from normal.
