Chapter 199: She’s Gone!

In one of the large office cabins of the ship, a man held a phone to his ear.

"Yes, boss," he said. "We already got everything under control."

He went quiet and listened to the voice on the other end of the line, nodding in understanding.

"Do not worry," said the man. "The other guys went after those four. They’ll be dealt with... and if they were lucky enough to escape, we’ll co for them."

"Look here," ca the voice from the other end of the line. "We don’t want those other four causing trouble for us."

"They won’t," the man on the phone uttered solemnly. "Leave it to . We’ve already leaked their information. Even before they open their mouths, Dominion will shoot them in the head."

The back-and-forth continued, with the person on the other end expressing his concerns while the man on the ship confidently reassured him over and over.

"Just don’t lower your guard — this is important," said the person on the other end of the line. "We’re up against Dominion. And once they catch on, you and I... we’ll be dead. We’ll be the next sacrificial lambs."

A glint flickered across the man’s eyes as he nodded. "I understand."

Having said that, the person on the other end ended the call. The man exhaled heavily and glanced away before slipping the phone into his pocket, just as the door opened.

Two n walked in, one of them with dyed orange hair, dragging his feet.

"I don’t like riding ships or boats... makes

sick," he complained, heading straight for the couch. "Dang. The dicine is barely helping ."

The other man, who had a large mole on his cheek, gazed down at him. "I told you to take another."

"But it sucks," the orange-haired man complained as he slumped on the couch on his stomach.

"Just do it," the man who had been talking on the phone advised. "The boss is worried. It’s best not to lower our guard until we reach our destination."

He paused as he took out a pack of cigarettes and walked toward the sliding window for a smoke. "Fucking Dominion will not just sit still."

"Even if they don’t, those guys are late to the party," the man with the mole said as he sat on the armrest and tossed a pill to the orange-haired man suffering from motion sickness.

"They can try, but with so many ships in this ocean, it’d take forever for them to figure out which one we’re on," he added with a chuckle. "By the ti they find this ship, we’re already gone."

After all, the ship they were on was only a temporary ride to a certain point. At the far end of the ocean, they would transfer to a smaller ship that would take them to their actual destination.

There was no way Dominion would be able to catch them once they got off this ship.

"Even so, don’t lower your guard," the guy smoking by the window muttered. He puffed smoke out of the open window, though the wind still blew so back inside. "Don’t underestimate the black dragon. They might be arrogant pricks, but they’re persistent bastards. I know them... since I confronted a few of them before."

The two n stared at the person standing by the window, studying his calm exterior as he smoked.

The orange-haired man slowly sat up as the second pill eased his dizziness. "By the way, why is this woman so important?"

"I an, sure, she should be important because she’s the Don’s wife," he continued. "But isn’t this operation a little too... how do I put it — complicated? Those four would’ve been great assets if they got absorbed by a bigger organization, just like their boss planned."

"But we involved and sacrificed a lot just to cover our tracks," he added, trying to organize his thoughts properly. "Aren’t we taking that woman captive to use her as leverage?"

The man with the mole clicked his tongue. "How are we going to use her as leverage if Dominion catches us, huh? This type of operation is only worth it because it’s Dominion."

"Still, isn’t there another way? Also, there’s that kid!" the orange-haired man argued. "It would’ve been easier to target him, but they wanted that woman instead."

He tilted his head to the side. "Isn’t it better to deal with a kid than to have that psycho bitch around? If we weren’t prepared and didn’t tranquilize her, she’d be a fucking headache."

The guy with the large mole nodded in agreent. That part, he agreed with. The rest? He wasn’t too sure about it. To him, it didn’t matter who the target was.

"I did hear that prick Marshal Di Carpio has been sending one of his daughters on missions to learn the ropes of their family business, but I thought it was just a baseless rumor," the man with the mole muttered. "But I guess it’s true, considering how proficient she was at taking lives."

"That Marshal Di Carpio is definitely sothing, huh?" the orange-haired man laughed dryly. "I guess having Ghost as his backer isn’t just a fluke either. Not only did he raise a psycho daughter, but he also successfully married her off to Dominion, secured an alliance with the black dragon, and got the legendary Ghost backing him!"

"Man... that guy’s luck is his ultimate weapon," he mused in awe. "I wonder what kind of trick he used to get Ghost on his side? Even the boss wants to make a deal with Ghost."

"Enough with the chit-chat."

Finally, the man smoking by the window broke his silence. He took another drag before pressing the lit cigarette against the ashtray on the desk nearby.

He lifted his eyes toward the two n on the couch. "Ghost backing the Di Carpios is not the question. The real question is whether Ghost is part of the deal behind this marriage. Dominion is one thing, but having Ghost as their ally is an entirely different problem."

"Because if Ghost is already with Dominion, then even if Dominion doesn’t catch us now... Ghost will."

The two n’s expressions twisted at the thought, and the orange-haired man ruffled his hair.

"What a headache."

The man by the window jerked his chin toward the door. "Check on our target and see how she’s doing."

"What do you an, how she’s doing? She’s not like a guest or sothing," the orange-haired man frowned. "She’s definitely still having her beauty rest. Also, Jung went back in there."

"It’s better to make sure they’re watching her properly," said the man. "You’ve seen what she’s capable of even while unard. Soone like Jung... just check on her."

The orange-haired man and the one with the large mole exchanged looks before shrugging. With that said, they rose from the couch and walked toward the door.

But before they could even reach it, the door suddenly burst open from the outside.

"Boss!"

One of their soldiers stood outside, panting heavily. His wide eyes darted between the three n inside. The duo who had been about to leave furrowed their brows in confusion.

"Boss, she—" the soldier struggled to catch his breath. "She — she’s gone!"

Hearing that, everyone inside froze as their eyes widened ever so slowly.

"That woman is gone!"
