Chapter 146: What A Refreshing Experience
Driving Primo to school had not been part of Lucian’s plans. He didn’t need to.
Primo was supposed to stay at the boarding school. But with everything that had changed, Lucian found himself thinking more deeply about what had been happening in their lives.
A normal life, huh? But it doesn’t feel normal at all. Though it was not unpleasant either.
The norm in Lucian was the world he knew, the one he grew up in. And it was nowhere near this kind.
The norm for him was the violence, the cris that were happening left and right, the sches, the endless dangers.
anwhile, Primo looked out the window, watching the cars heading in the sa direction.
Why is he driving
to school? I’ve never seen him drive before. He wondered, staring at the vehicles.
Having grown up surrounded by luxury, he could easily recognize every model and brand. Most of the vehicles on the road were expensive. Though none of them would have made it into Lucian’s collection.
And among this parade of luxury... their car stood out like a sore thumb.
"Daddy, look at that car!" a child inside a nearby van pointed. "Is it a toy? It looks like sothing from a cartoon!"
The man driving glanced over and caught sight of Lucian’s car. "It’s probably one of those."
"One of those?" the child echoed, confused.
"Those kids who were given the chance to attend your school," the father replied with a faint smile, glancing at his son through the rearview mirror. "Stay away from them, okay? People like that tend to leech off others."
The boy blinked, then nodded. "Of course! I don’t like people like them!"
"Good boy," the man chuckled.
They weren’t the only ones who noticed the worn-out, cartoonish-looking car. Many people did. While most drivers didn’t pay much attention, they all understood what it ant.
After all, the school they were heading to was prestigious—ant for either geniuses... or the wealthy.
Which ant that soon enough, even these scholars would discover the hierarchy within its walls. And the drivers already felt sorry for the ones who got in this school without money.

anwhile, inside Lucian and Primo’s car, silence filled the space. Neither of them cared much for the luxury vehicles around them.
"Primo."
Primo’s thoughts halted at Lucian’s voice. He turned toward his father, only to see him focused on the road.
"Rember what she said," Lucian reminded him, overtaking the van carrying the father and son from earlier.
Soon, Lucian pulled into the drop-off area.
Primo nodded before unbuckling his seatbelt, picking up his belongings—including the lunch Ashley had prepared. Just as he stepped out, Lucian called him again.
"Primo."
Primo paused, tilting his head slightly.
Lucian hesitated for a brief mont before speaking. "Have fun."
"..." Primo pressed his lips together, eting his father’s gaze seriously. Then he nodded and signed, [I’ll try.]
With that, he turned and walked away.
Lucian almost chuckled at his son’s response. Monts like this were rare between them. Most of their interactions had always been tense, always confrontational.
But this one was... nial.
As Lucian watched Primo walk off, a loud honk sounded behind him.
"Hmm?" His brows lifted as he glanced at the rearview mirror.
A van was honking impatiently.
Instead of moving imdiately, Lucian simply watched it with mild curiosity. Before long, the driver stepped out and approached his car.
Monts later, the man knocked aggressively on Lucian’s window.
"Strange," Lucian murmured, genuine curiosity flickering in his eyes. "He looks upset. I wonder why?"
He slowly rolled the window down, eting the man’s irritated expression.
"Hey, is this your first ti here?" the man snapped. "Even if it is, how can you block the line like that? Haven’t you heard the rules for dropping off students?"
"There are rules?" Lucian asked, genuinely puzzled.
The man scoffed, giving Lucian a once-over. Lucian didn’t look like what he expected—a struggling salaryman trying to send his son to a prestigious school. If anything, there was sothing... off about him.
"Ahem!" The man cleared his throat, brushing the thought aside. "Yes, there are rules! Once you drop your kid off, you move along!"
He dragged a hand down his face in frustration. "This is why I don’t like people like you. You don’t know the rules, and you always make excuses. You even overtook several cars! Are you that oblivious?"
"..." Lucian tilted his head slightly, studying the man. "Everyone was moving very slowly."
"Hah! You’re still arguing?" the man scoffed. "Even if you don’t know anything, you should at least understand this—if you scratch soone’s car here, it’s not sothing you can just apologize for!"
I’m glad I’m the one driving Primo to school... and not her then.
If Ashley had been the one behind the wheel, he could already imagine her running over half the cars in frustration. From what he had heard, her patience on the road was... nonexistent.
As the man continued ranting, security began approaching. Lucian simply smiled faintly.
"I apologize," he said, cutting the man off. The latter frowned at the light smile on Lucian’s face. "I’ll keep your advice in mind and be more careful next ti."
Lucian’s smile lingered as he rolled the window back up and drove off slowly.
The man scoffed, glaring after him. "Did that guy just smirk at !? Does he think he can just mock
like that? Hey!"
But Lucian didn’t stop. He simply drove away from the school zone, a faint smile still on his face.
"Interesting," he murmured, resting his elbow against the window. "It’s been a while since soone talked to
like that. What a refreshing experience."
He nodded in quiet satisfaction, savoring sothing he hadn’t felt in a long ti.
And with his mood unusually light, Lucian didn’t bother switching to another car. Instead, he continued driving toward the city.
Soon, several vehicles appeared and surrounded him, escorting the worn-out car as it made its way into the largest building in the heart of the city.
Black Dragon Corporation.
Dominion’s first legal company, and currently, the most powerful corporation in the business world.
