Ye Yuan imdiately grabbed her hand, which was also slightly sweaty.

They quickly crouched behind the exhibit pillar, pressing close to the wall.

In the dim light, they saw several figures with guns, their fierce silhouettes rushing up to the second floor, followed by the loud bangs of tempered glass being forcibly shattered.

Ye Lu’s heart trembled. Even this small museum had attracted professional treasure thieves ard with guns—obviously desperate and violent. Fortunately, they had left quickly; otherwise, a pregnant woman and a child trapped upstairs would probably have been conveniently killed by these n.

Ye Lu’s heart was tense, and she was extrely worried. She prayed they were there to steal sothing else, and that they wouldn’t take that box.

Please don’t, because if they didn’t return the secret to that European noble family within the allotted ti, the Huas would face the consequences of treachery, likely gaining a powerful enemy.

"Oh my God, what are you doing?" The curator’s shocked scream echoed as he rushed out of the back office.

"Your usefulness is over," the woman said, suddenly appearing behind him with an eerie, enchanting voice. She then coldly pressed a gun to his head, and with a bang, the poor curator t his end.

"Sweep all these antiques," the woman commanded coldly.

Her people were professional, finishing the job within a minute.

A subordinate asked, "Won’t killing the curator cause trouble?"

"Don’t worry, no one knows we did it. When the old man took to the back earlier, we already destroyed the surveillance and alarms. Besides, a small museum murder isn’t a big deal. The city’s mafia is often around; we’ll just fabricate so evidence and pin it on them. Let’s go!"

The woman left swiftly with her group and the treasures.

Only when the museum had beco completely quiet,

did Ye Lu and her group dare to co out. Then, rembering what the woman had said about that row of items, Ye Lu hurried upstairs.

A strong scent of blood wafted through the air, and there lay the curator, face down on the ground in a ghastly state, his brains scattered all over. The sight made Ye Lu feel so nauseous she wanted to vomit.

But she suppressed it, rushing over to see a row of shattered glass cases with a ss of exhibit antiques thrown about. Her heart seized, her expression one of shock.

The black box was gone.

Her hands and feet went instantly cold; the box had been stolen, and the deal would fail!

"Mummy, what happened?"

"That woman just stole an important antique that our Hua family donated here, very important," Ye Lu didn’t know what to do at the mont.

Ye Yuan was shocked, though she didn’t understand the whole story, she could tell from Ye Lu’s grave and tense face that it must be sothing of great importance.

"Let’s see if they left any clues that could help us guess who they are and recover the antique. Quick, before the police arrive."

Ye Lu snapped to her senses. Right, first, look for evidence. She cald down.

"Yuanyuan, don’t touch anything you can’t take, don’t leave fingerprints."

Yuanyuan nodded, and they both quickly crouched down to search for the smallest traces.

"Here’s a shell casing," said Yuanyuan as she handed it to Ye Lu, who beca stern and slipped it into her handbag.

At her feet, she noticed a coffee bean—such an odd item for this place. Ignoring it, she picked it up anyway.

The group was clearly professional; they had left practically no evidence.

After searching quickly, they hurried downstairs and left in a rush.
