It felt like a beautiful dream, one she never dared to imagine. Marrying at such a young age, marrying him, becoming the young mistress of the Gu Family. Thinking back on it now, it still seems like it all happened in a dream, not in reality.
After the wedding, on the night of the sa day, Gu Yan got a call from a renowned orthopaedic surgeon and was taken away. The acclaid doctor had been engaged by the Gu family after an extensive search; he could treat the lingering effects of Gu Yan’s leg injuries. Mrs. Gu accompanied him on a flight to the other side of the Pacific.
Then, a few days later, on the night before Gu Yan returned ho.
That day the storm was raging, the servants were gone, and she was alone in this seaside holiday villa. Due to the sudden change in weather, she caught a cold and felt dizzy as she lay in bed.
In her drowsy state, she felt soone co back, hugging her tightly in the darkness, unbearably close.
And in her confusion, she made the mistake of thinking the person was Gu Yan, offering no resistance.
Until the next morning, when Gu Yan burst through the door with a face full of smiles, announcing his return.
She woke up in a daze, sat up, only to find herself completely naked, with lingering traces of intimacy all over her body. She was horrified beyond belief, unable to comprehend the situation.
Ashen-faced, she locked eyes with him, his face as grim.
What happened afterwards was a blur. To this day, she can’t recall the specific details. She just rembers desperately trying to explain, but realizing she fundantally didn’t know who did this to her.
Moreover, in the wake of such an incident, no matter what explanation a woman offers to a man, it falls short. She had been tainted.
She only rembers that one sentence he said that hurt her the most.
"Get out of my sight, you disgust !"
He ruthlessly slamd the door and left.
And she was left crying in agony, unable to make ands.
In the end, Mrs. Gu personally jumped into action, throwing out all of her belongings, furiously warning her never to appear in front of her son ever again.
Recalling everything that had happened seven years ago, Ye Lu felt like it was all from another lifeti.
Ha, what was Mrs. Gu so worried about? Her present self was filled with scars, utterly unable to return to the past.
"What are you doing squatting on the floor?" snarled Shang Jingchen, his voice resonating unpleasantly in the restroom.
Caught off guard, Ye Lu glared back, "What are you doing here? This is the won’s restroom, you creep!"
What was going through his mind, barging into the won’s restroom like this?
"You think I wanted to co in? Did you not see how lifeless you looked just now. If I wasn’t afraid you’d faint in here, why would I do sothing so humiliating?" complained Shang Jingchen, scowling at her. He was only concerned she might pass out.
Ungrateful woman, she didn’t appreciate his goodwill, instead returning it with hostility.
"Who asked you to interfere? I’m not an idiot. How would I faint in here?" Despite her harsh tone, deep down Ye Lu felt a hint of gratitude towards him.
"Why are you crying?" Shang Jingchen frowned at her red, tear-streaked eyes, "Who made you cry?"
"What do you want?"
"I can help you get revenge."
Ye Lu was taken aback. What was up with him today? He was being surprisingly nice to her, even offering to help her with her revenge.
Unfortunately, this had to do with Mrs. Gu. She didn’t have the guts to ntion it.
"I don’t need it. I just rembered so upsetting things from the past."
"You cried because of that? Since when did you beco so fragile? The luncheon is about to end, you’re not feeling well, I’ll drive you ho."
Shang Jingchen, shockingly compassionate, offered to take her back to school.
Ye Lu felt like the sun had risen from the west. He appeared to be in a pretty good mood today.
On the way, Shang Jingchen said, "Our deal. It may not have to last a year. You could complete it in half the ti, maybe even less."
Upon hearing this, Ye Lu finally perked up, eyes wide.
"Are you serious?"
