"Ye Lu..." Jun Shengnan gritted her teeth.
"What’s wrong? Did you not anticipate that I wouldn’t be so easy to control? Calling you ’auntie’ is a mark of respect. But you thinking you can control , you underestimate . If you have the guts, go confront Third Young Master Jun directly. Stop targeting . Don’t try to squeeze a soft fruit only to end up with blood all over yourself – I’m not so easily bullied."
Ye Lu’s voice was cold, her deanor fierce and flamboyant. She was not at all intimidated by Jun Shengnan’s imposing aura.
She didn’t want to be harassed by Jun Shengnan in the future. It was ti to show her so true colors, to let her know she was not a pushover.
Jun Shengnan’s face was ashen.
After bidding finished for all the auction items, as the highest bidder, Jun Shengnan was invited to give a speech on stage.
Ye Lu accompanied her on stage and stood aside to wait for her.
Despite her unwillingness to part with her money, Jun Shengnan maintained her public image well. She was all smiles, expressing care for disabled people in her speech.
Ye Lu scoffed. The Jun family were all good actors. From Jun Shi, to Jun Shengnan, Gu Yan, and even the Third Young Master. What a disgustingly insincere family! She just couldn’t wait to get away from it all.
But things took a sudden turn.
A man crashed through the door, moving so fast that the guards around were caught off guard. Amid the exclamations of the distinguished guests, he dashed towards the auction stage.
"Ye Lu, you ungrateful brat! After raising you all these years, you can’t even afford to give a bit for my old age. You wretch, I’m going to kill you!"
Ye Lu was stunned, watching as Ye Wanli charged at her like a rabid wolf, his face twisted in rage. He looked as though he wanted to kill her.
Why was Ye Wanli here? Wasn’t he supposed to be a beggar now, destitute and poverty-stricken? How could he have managed to enter this high-end venue?
She didn’t have ti to think it through when she felt her heart pounding almost out of her chest. If he hits her, she will be dood, and her unborn child would definitely be in danger.
Yet there were no guards around the auction stage and the ones who were present were too far away.
At that mont, Ye Wanli was already charging onto the narrow auction stage, towards her.
Ah... A scream was heard, and two figures tumbled from the auction stage, their sudden fall causing both of them to bleed from the head and collapse on the ground in agony.
One of them was Ye Wanli, and the other shockingly was Jun Shengnan.
The guests below the stage were shocked, completely at a loss about what was happening.
anwhile, Ye Lu was just standing there, still in shock and relief. Thank God, she had been quick enough.
At that critical mont, she had clutched on to Jun Shengnan and with all her energy, pushed her aunt towards Ye Wanli. She couldn’t afford to feel sorry for her aunt. As an aunt, saving her nephew’s baby was just the decent thing to do, right?
"Idiot," grumbled Jun Shi who had been watching the scene from backstage. This useless Ye Wanli couldn’t handle even a simple task despite all his efforts to involve him.
He picked up his phone, "Go in."
He couldn’t rely completely on Ye Wanli. He had backups.
Just as the guards detained Ye Wanli, a few more n barged in during the chaos and surrounded Ye Lu. Her face turned pale instantly. Who was behind this plot? Jun Shi, Gu Yan, or Jun Shengnan?
But it was too late for her to dodge, too late for anything at all.
With a clenched jaw, she grabbed an antique vase worth millions and violently smashed it.
