The Old Madam Jun recalled that Gu Yan’s mother died when he was born, and due to the abusive treatnt of Liu Ziqi by Jun Shi, Gu Yan was notably weak when he was born and his health has been poor ever since.
For these long twenty odd years, he has not once received his father’s love, lacked familial warmth, and suffered more than Jun Huang did.
At least Jun Huang had the care of her and Jun Guanru for over a decade. Now that Gu Yan had returned, she felt even more indebted to this child and wanted to show him more love.

Seeing the Old Madam, with her worried expression, fretting over Gu Yan and afraid that he would be bullied by Third Young Master Jun, left Ye Lu in a mix of laughter and tears.
Third Young Master Jun, of course, was a thoroughly detestable, domineering bastard, cold and ruthless, who liked to control others.
But Gu Yan was no pushover either.
Even though she now had no feelings for Third Young Master Jun and didn’t want to speak well of him, she at least knew one thing.
Third Young Master Jun was openly cruel, but Gu Yan was too good at disguising himself, playing the weak and pitiful drama in front of Old Madam Jun, taking advantage of her guilt and sympathy. This manipulative thod was even more despicable than straightforward cruelty.
However, it was clear that the Old Madam Jun had already ford her bias, and her adoration for Third Young Master Jun was now starting to shift to Gu Yan.
In so ways, Third Young Master Jun was a bit pitiful.
"Their matter has nothing to do with ." She retorted coldly. Their brotherly conflicts and struggles didn’t concern her. As long as it didn’t jeopardize her and the child, she couldn’t care less about their disputes. The fiercer their fight, the greater her chance of escape.
She put down her cutlery, got up, and prepared to go upstairs to rest.
As she walked by the stairs, she paused for a mont but eventually couldn’t help but turn around.
"However, Old Madam Jun, Gu Yan may not be as simple as you imagine. As they say, ’it takes two to tango’, there must be a reason for disdain beneath his pathetic story."
After she spoke, she went upstairs, hoping that Old Madam Jun would take her words to heart and not get deceived by Gu Yan.

Then, she installed hidden caras in several corners of the room.
Obviously, she couldn’t always be in the room, there would be tis when the servants would co in. If they did anything underhanded, she would find out.
She wasn’t a fool, she wouldn’t ignore Jun Shi’s hostility towards her.
She had to better protect herself.
Then, she picked up so business books and started studying, as she had recently enrolled in a course. She had realised that she had to rely on herself, and that she should work hard to increase her knowledge to pave the way for her life after she left.
Anyway, being pregnant didn’t give her much to do.
She could well use this ti for self-improvent.
About an hour later, Feiyu knocked on the door and ca in: "Third Young Master will be back tomorrow night. He will return to the villa and asked you to stay there for the night."
Ye Lu frowned. He was coming back just after two days?
"Alright, if I have the ti."
Feiyu’s face turned sour. Was this her way of taking things for granted? Third Young Master went to see the godfather because of her.
Although he was dissatisfied, he still restrained his feelings, as the Third Young Master had told him that she was pregnant and asked him not to upset or anger her.

When she got up the next day, she ran into Jun Shengnan.
Jun Shengnan invited her to join a charity event at an art center.
