As for how to proceed, she had no clue about the people Bai Sijia had sent.
The only starting point was Bai Sijia and Yuan Jiayin. It’s ti to bite down.
...
"Sister Jiayin, where are you going?" Bai Sijia asked alertly, seeing Yuan Jiayin cleanly dressed and heading out the door.
Yuan Jiayin looked at her with a calm expression and responded coldly:
"I’m tired of hiding here, and I’m fed up with your casualness and incompetency. I’m taking the initiative to act now. All you care about is safely waiting for your wedding day. You don’t want causing any trouble that would affect you. But do you think I would just let you enjoy the things that I couldn’t attain? You better pray for my success; otherwise, you won’t get to marry either."
Bai Sijia watched Yuan Jiayin leave, her face ashen.
What on earth is that scher planning to do?
An hour later, she received a ssage from Ye Lu that included a recording.
Bai Sijia paled upon hearing it—it was the phone call in which Yuan Jiayin had asked her for help during a difficult ti.
"How did you get this recording?" she asked, aghast and furious, as she dialed back.
"Who do you think? The only people who could record this call were the two of you. If you didn’t give it to , then who did?" Ye Lu replied with a scoff.
"Don’t try to stir up trouble."
"You know very well whether or not I’m stirring up trouble. Truth be told, I was very surprised to receive this recording. What is she really up to?"
Bai Sijia’s face contorted painfully as she rembered Yuan Jiayin’s cold words: ’Do you think I would just let you enjoy the things that I couldn’t attain?’
That conniver was trying to use Ye Lu to take revenge on her, manipulating the situation to sabotage her wedding.
After all, Yuan Jiayin had repeatedly claid to hold evidence against her—what could it be beyond the recording?
Damn!
"What do you want to do?" she asked, anxiety creeping into her voice.
"Bai Sijia, my hatred for you is not particularly strong. After all, the one who hard was Yuan Jiayin. My intention is to seek revenge against her. I need your help. If you refuse, I’ll make this recording public. It won’t harm you, but with her reputation utterly tarnished, you will also be implicated."
Bai Sijia understood only too well. With her wedding impending, any scandal could place her in grave danger.
"What do you want to do?"
"et on XX road. I need you to provide evidence of Yuan Jiayin’s cris. You can bring two people for your protection."
...
Accompanied by two bodyguards, Bai Sijia arrived at a rental house at the end of a narrow alley.
Seeing that Ye Lu was also waiting for her with two bodyguards, she sighed in relief.
"According to our agreent, you provide Yuan Jiayin’s confession, and I destroy this recording."
Without wasting any words, Ye Lu set up the video recorder and pointed it at Bai Sijia.
Bai Sijia squinted slightly and nodded in agreent.
She then started to recount all the unlawful activities Yuan Jiayin had committed in front of the cara.
As she noticed Ye Lu’s satisfied look, she gave a cold internal smirk and abruptly stopped.
"Why did you stop?" Ye Lu asked.
"Because there’s no point in going any further." As she coldly uttered these words, ten burly n wielding knives broke in through the window and surrounded Ye Lu and her bodyguards. Bai Sijia sneered, "Ye Lu, you must think a fool. Even if I expose Yuan Jiayin, she won’t spare . In fact, you are my greatest enemy. Seize this woman!"
"Look behind you!" Ye Lu rely laughed.
Turning around sharply, Bai Sijia realized a gun was pointed at her. It finally dawned on her: this had been a trap set by the mantis catching the cicada, with the canary in the background all along. Ye Lu, the manipulator, wasn’t after Yuan Jiayin whatsoever—she was after her.
