In a state of utter panic, Ye Lu could only desperately cling to the iron railing on the corner of the stairs.
She turned her head to see Shang Jingchen’s ferocious face, her heart gripped by utter terror.
"Let go." Shang Jingchen forcefully tried to pry her hand loose, ruthlessly wrenching her fingers.
But Ye Lu clung on for dear life, despite his efforts scraping her palms bloody, she held on with every ounce of strength she had.

With tears streaming down her face, Ye Lu glowered at him, sneering with hatred.
"You deserve to be manipulated by a woman for your entire life. One day when you’re dead and in the underworld, your grandfather will personally tell you the truth!"
Shang Jingchen’s face darkened: "Already on death’s door, and still as defiant."
He tried to pull her shoulders, but she was immovable as a rock, her delicate hands clinging onto the railing, bloody but unyielding.
"You think that by doing this, you’ll be able to protect your child? If you keep this up, your hands will be useless," Shang Jingchen suddenly let go of her.
"Even if my hands break, I won’t let go. You people will never understand what true love is. It’s unconditional love and protection. You’re right, no man is willing to protect because no one truly loves and cares for . But I’m willing to protect my child at all costs because I love them. Even to the last, I want to be with them."
She cried heartily, even if everyone was out to harm her, at this mont, she still had her child. Perhaps the next mont they would be taken away from her, but for now, she still had this mont.
"You think you can gain sympathy by playing the victim?" Shang Jingchen beca even angrier, "I don’t even need to push you down, a single kick can kill your child."
He lifted his foot.
Ye Lu shuddered, her heart filling with nothing but despair and rage.
"You would even attack a pregnant woman, I didn’t think you had it in you!" A cold gun barrel pressed against Shang Jingchen’s temple.
"How can I compete with your ruthlessness? She wouldn’t be in this situation if you hadn’t outed her pregnancy. Third Young Master Jun, you cause harm only to play the savior. Being a ssiah isn’t so easy."
