The room returned to silence, as if the storm had never arrived.

"Why were you so harsh on him? Even if he’s not the father of your child, you didn’t have to say such heart-wrenching words."

Yan Yu sighed as she watched her.

"Especially since he is the father of your child!"

Ye Lu looked at her in shock, full of confusion: "Mother, what are you talking about?"

Yan Yu: "A mother knows her daughter best, don’t I see it clearly? You are stubborn because the truer sothing is, the more you deny it with your words. But sotis, when you say things too harshly, you’ll regret it in the future."

Happening to recall sothing, her eyes were filled with a lancholic sorrow.

"Regret that back then you hurt him so deeply, every wound cut to the heart, and there were no longer chances to make ands."

"I will not regret it."

Ye Lu bit her lip, thinking of Third Young Master Jun’s wrongdoings, she was seething with anger.

"I detest this man, I despise him. The way he treated was so deplorable, it served him right to get his just desserts."

"Do you truly hate him that much?" Yan Yu asked.

"Yes."

"So, if he fell into the water, and you happened to have a brick in your hand, would you throw it at him?"

"Well... there’s no need to actually throw it at him!"

Ye Lu looked at Yan Yu in bewildernt.

"Mother, what kind of comparison is this, what does this have to do with my hatred for him?"

"How is there no relevance? True hatred ans unhesitatingly leaving him to die, not feeling the least bit of pity. Not to ntion throwing a brick, if there was a knife in front of you, you would probably stab him."

Ye Lu was even more dumbfounded.

"I do hate him, but not to this extent."

"Therefore, the hatred you harbour for him is not as deep nor as unforgivable as you think, it isn’t a vendetta. It’s just that you are not resigned to being inferior to him. He has hurt you, and in your retaliation, you seek to hurt him."

"Should I allow him to continually bully then?"

This man didn’t do anything but bully and tornt her.

"Of course not. What I’m trying to say is, apart from hatred, you have no other feelings for him?" Yan Yu gently gazed at her, "If you hate him so much, why did you decide to keep the baby, and are so desperate to protect the child?"

Ye Lu frowned, "This has nothing to do with him. With my previous babies, Yuanyuan and Yiyi, I was just as willing to give birth."

"No, there’s a difference. Before, you didn’t even know who the man was, you could completely regard him as a fictional person, you didn’t even have a concrete target for your hatred, so naturally you didn’t hate him. Thus, you could consider those two kids as solely yours."

Ye Lu was stumped.

Yan Yu continued, "But Third Young Master Jun is a very real presence, you two have had nurous entanglents. If you hate him so much, wouldn’t everything associated with him be tainted with prejudice and disgust?

You must understand, the baby in your belly, is undeniably half his, half his bloodline. You’re carrying a child of a man you loathe, are you really so indifferent about it?"

Ye Lu was imdiately at a loss for words.

She had never intended to resent the baby in her belly, even though it had been forced upon her by Third Young Master Jun.

"But, I do hate him, he consistently destroys my life, causing pain."

From the beginning when he forced her into bed, to now undermining her work, all of it she could not let go.

"Daughter, you need to know, hating soone is a consuming task and unless it’s soone who matters deeply, there’s hardly any point to hold a grudge."

Ye Lu responded irritably, "Mother, after saying all this, surely you’re not going to conclude with the ridiculous idea that I am supposedly hating him because I love him?"
