"Third Young Master Jun, what you’re doing is utterly pointless."
Third Young Master Jun glared back at her coldly, more angered and heartbroken upon seeing her protecting Gu Yan.
Because once, she had thrown herself over him with the sa desperation, taking a bullet for him. His lonely, isolated heart trembled at that. He thought she genuinely cared about him, cared for him. He thought he had finally found warmth, found a love he once dismissed yet longed for.
"If you don’t love , why did you take a bullet for back then?"
Ye Lu faltered, unaware herself. She just rushed out in that mont, an instinctive reaction. But ti had passed and whether the reason mattered anymore was uncertain.
She and Third Young Master Jun had grown apart. This ti there was no turning back. There was no point dragging her feet.
"If you had died then, I wouldn’t have been able to live either. Saving you was like saving myself." She retorted, emotionless.
Third Young Master Jun’s heart fluttered, the hand clutching the gun trembled subtly.
"Why did you endure Father’s slap for , then?"
"You defended at the banquet. I was returning your kindness."
Third Young Master Jun still couldn’t let it go. "Just returning my kindness? What about all the other tis? You used to cook dinner, make porridge in the morning?"
Ye Lu bit her lip.
"You forced to make dinner, it wasn’t willing. The breakfast... was..." She was about to dismiss it as sothing she just happened to make.
Gu Yan interrupted her before she could finish.
"She made that specifically for . I was in the hospital at the ti, not very appetizing. She was worried and made porridge for every day."
His words pierced through Third Young Master Jun’s heart like the sharpest of knives, stirring agonizing pain within him.
"So, it wasn’t made for , I just happened to benefit from it." Third Young Master Jun tried to grin but found he couldn’t.
He rembered that morning when he woke up and found her, like a diligent wife, bustling in the kitchen making porridge. Such a virtuous sight ward his cold heart.
He thought she made him a love-filled breakfast. He complained about it being bland, yet finished everything.
It turns out, it was Gu Yan’s porridge. It was never made for him.
"So, when I detected the sll of dicine on you, you weren’t actually accompanying your mother. Instead, you were with him. You’ve been lying to all along, haven’t you?" he asked angrily.
Ye Lu trembled, clutching her fists. She had indeed deceived him on this one.
"Yes."
"Hahaha, so you’ve never had feelings for from the beginning." Third Young Master Jun burst into laughter, his voice echoing with desolate rage.
So, this was the true reality.
She didn’t save him out of love. Everything she did wasn’t for him. And he mistakenly thought she loved him. He believed he had found true love, only to discover that, apart from lying to him, everything was fake.
His extre love, with the extre disappointnt, turned into extre hatred. If he had not mistakenly thought he was loved, not fantasized about his dreams coming true, he wouldn’t be heartbroken, disappointed or angry!
Such betrayal caused enormous pain.
"Ye Lu, you heartless woman, you betrayed ! I won’t forgive you!" His rage was directed at her, wishing he could rip this heartless woman apart.
Ye Lu felt afraid under his sinister cold gaze. Yet his victim-like posture angered her too. All her suppressed patience exploded.
