She was caught off guard, dumbfounded. In her excitent, she’d completely forgotten about the devil himself. She beca nervous, wondering if he might be angry with her.
Yet, upon further thought, given the late hour, the man must have already had dinner and should be entrenched in his work out of sight, right?
She breathed a small sigh of relief, but cautiously stepped inside the villa anyway.
The mansion was very quiet, indicating that Feiyu wasn’t ho, hehe, this was perfect. Usually if Feiyu was not ho, it ant that Third Young Master Jun wasn’t ho either. The two n were always mysteriously absent, and she never knew what they were up to.
Just as she let out a sigh of relief and prepared to head upstairs, she saw a man sitting on the couch in the hall, his complexion dark and stormy.
Ye Lu’s heart jolted. Why was Third Young Master Jun at ho?
"You’re late!" Third Young Master Jun’s voice was low and devoid of any emotional inflection. He looked at her with a stone-cold expression.
But Ye Lu shuddered, instinctively sensing that he was angry, very angry indeed!
"I... I only just saw your text ssage." Ye Lu swallowed. Of course, she dared not tell him the truth.
If he found out she stood him up to dine with another man, he’d surely wring her neck.
"You are three hours late," Third Young Master Jun said coldly. For the first ti in his life, he had waited for a woman, for three hours at that.
"You waited for for three hours?" Ye Lu was stunned.
She couldn’t fathom that this disdainful and aloof man would wait for her to cook dinner for three hours.
She thought he would go out to eat, or call her insistently to hurry her back, not just wait quietly for her for three hours, this was not like his usual assertive style.
She felt a pang of guilt. Could it be that he had not eaten yet?
"So you’re telling that in the last three hours, you didn’t check your phone even once? Can you co up with a worse excuse?" Third Young Master Jun yelled angrily.
But more than the three-hour waiting ti, what infuriated him was her apparent lack of consideration for him.
She had always ignored his ssages in the past, but now how could she not be mindful of him.
"I... because I was at the hospital and my phone was on silent, I didn’t notice," Ye Lu explained in a panic.
"Hospital?" Third Young Master Jun’s eyes flickered. He quickly stood up, grabbed her and examined her anxiously, "Are you hurt? Where?"
"No, no. I went to visit my mother at the hospital. I was so absorbed that I didn’t notice my phone. I’m sorry." Ye Lu lied, but she didn’t want Third Young Master Jun to be angry.
Making him wait for three pointless hours, she felt guilty.
After hearing her sowhat reasonable explanation, Third Young Master Jun’s anger sowhat subsided.
"Your mother is in the hospital? What’s wrong with her?"
Ye Lu let out a sigh, "She has been in a vegetative state for many years and has never woken up. Whenever I have the ti, I will go to the hospital to sit with her and talk to her. Even though she can’t hear , at least she won’t feel so lonely, like everyone has abandoned her. Maybe one day, a miracle will happen, and she will wake up."
Thinking of her mother made her feel sad, she never talked about her mother to others.
Seeing her look so sad, her eyes moistened.
All of Third Young Master Jun’s anger dissipated and his heart softened. So she was late because she was visiting her mother; she was dutiful and caring.
Her unwavering devotion over the years was admirable.
"She’ll get better, I promise," he said, lifting her chin with a resolute tone.
He would find the most renowned doctors from all around the world for her.
