Until a warm hand landed on top of her head, pausing for a mont, hesitating, and then gently stroking her hair, silently conveying a powerful sense of reassurance.
Yiyi’s heart trembled as she slowly lifted her head, her vision blurred by tears, looking at the face of the person in front of her. Too many tears obscured her sight, and she couldn’t see his expression or know what emotions he was feeling as he gazed at her.
For a mont, she truly wanted to throw herself into his embrace and cry her heart out while he held her, speaking softly to comfort her. Maybe, just maybe, she had not yet found the only reason to stay in this world.
But in reality, it had long since vanished into thin air.
She wiped away the tears, a strange smile appearing at the corners of her mouth as she lazily glanced at him with a sideways look.
"Oh, I didn’t expect you to be such a gentleman towards won. Pitying ? So easy to fool. Don’t you know won are the best at acting?"
The corners of her eyes and eyebrows were full of a malicious allure, her eyes sparkling like a cunning little fox, completely masking the sadness and pain that had just been there. It even made people doubt whether they had just seen it incorrectly.
No trace of sadness could be found in her expression, especially that lazy, rogue deanor, which was truly glaring.
Ling Kong’s eyes instantly turned cold, as he withdrew his hand with a chilling deanor.

A failed deal but still so kindness? What kind of language level is this? Ling Kong was speechless.

He would have preferred her to keep her head held high, never apologizing, which would at least an she cared more and didn’t want to lose face in front of him, rather than this indifferent attitude and expression of nonchalance.

Yiyi bit her lower lip. Yes, to soone like Ling Kong, she was likely just a fleeting ripple in his life, quickly vanishing without a trace. She understood more than ever that she wasn’t that important to him.
