A familiar face above suddenly pointed at Yiyi and scread, "Don’t be fooled by them, these two are the wife and daughter of Governor Yun, they are spies."
Jun Yiyi’s face changed drastically, and she hurriedly looked over, only to see that among the residents being evacuated, there was soone she recognized.
It was truly unfortunate for Jun Yiyi; she hadn’t expected to encounter a classmate at such a ti, and this classmate’s family had sided with the Councilman Faction. In class, they were always at odds with her, and now, finding an opportunity to kick soone when they’re down, they were utterly gloating and smug.
"She’s the daughter of Governor Yun. Didn’t Governor Yun already send all his family away?" The soldier was sowhat in disbelief, considering that Governor Yun was such a high-ranking official, why wouldn’t he send his family away before the civil war?
The female classmate imdiately shouted, "I’m her classmate, don’t you think I can recognize her? The real Yun family heiress indeed left long ago, but this one here..."
Her tone was full of ridicule and mockery.
"It’s just a despised illegitimate daughter picked up along the way, who cares about her life or death? But either way, she and her mother are still Governor Yun’s family in na. Capturing them will surely earn you rit. I’m kindly pointing you to a path to wealth."
After saying this, the female classmate proudly lifted her chin and ordered the car to leave.
Jun Yiyi’s face turned ashen. It was truly bad luck; she thought she could sneak through, and after reaching the place where citizens like them were to be settled, she planned to discreetly take Madam Aisha away, hiding in a property she had anonymously purchased earlier for a while.
The two soldiers exchanged a glance, both displaying sinister smiles as they fixed their gaze on Jun Yiyi, "Turns out you’re a sly girl, almost fooled us. You’re unlucky to fall into our hands now. Your father is now one of the main conspirators of the rebellion; capturing you and delivering you as a hostage to threaten Governor Yun will definitely earn us great rit."
Madam Aisha’s face had already turned pale as snow upon hearing this, and her legs went weak. Becoming a hostage, and one without value at that—if the Councilman Faction finds out they are of no use, they probably won’t be polite.
"Since we are all unwanted and abandoned family mbers here, do you think you can really threaten Governor Yun? We are just pawns to be discarded; you’re wasting your efforts." Jun Yiyi spoke to divert their attention while her hand quietly reached into her arms.
Fortunately, she had prepared.
But such a standoff was bound to attract other soldiers; there were quite a few troops around here, could she escape with Madam Aisha? Would they be labeled as rebels and executed on sight by the army?
She was not entirely confident, and her palm, gripping the gun, began to sweat profusely.
But, there was no ti left to choose.
"Hah, I don’t care if you’re pawns or not, whether you have value, it’s not for you to decide. We’ll know once we hand you over; there’s always so political use, unless Governor Yun can ignore public opinion and watch you die." The soldier sneered dismissively, "Stop babbling, obediently co with us."
The two soldiers advanced, reaching out fiercely to grab and bind her and Madam Aisha.
As soon as his hand touched Jun Yiyi, it was imdiately swatted away by a punch. Enraged that this weak girl dared to resist, he swung a slap at Jun Yiyi’s face, but before the slap could land on her snow-white face, a gunshot rang out, and a hole was blown through his palm.
