Helian Ling Kong tightened his grip on the knife, pulled back his hand, and turned his head coldly to the side: "Fine, I agree to let you go."
Yiyi looked at his hard and indifferent profile in surprise, feeling a huge sense of relief inside. She understood that he was a man of his word. Since he said he would let her go, he would ensure her safe departure.
She then put down the gun pointed at his neck.
However, she was a bit taken aback that he gave in so easily. After all, such a proud and confident man couldn’t possibly fear her threats, nor would he succumb to them.
Was it... because of their past relationship?
"Thank you." She spoke softly and with complexity.
"Thank you? Ha, that’s unexpected. I’m afraid you won’t really thank in the future." Helian Ling Kong sneered ambiguously, then commanded others to lower their guns and let Yiyi and the others leave.
Yiyi didn’t understand what he ant by that, but she couldn’t worry about it. Lina was injured and needed to be rushed to a hospital,
She hurriedly ran upstairs to support Lina and walk her down. By the ti they reached downstairs, Helian Ling Kong was long gone, leaving only an indifferent and impatient soldier who gruffly told them to hurry up and then led them out of the school.
They quickly rushed Lina to the hospital for surgery, enduring half a day’s ordeal. After the surgery, once Lina was settled in a ward and her family notified to care for her, Yiyi finally left with peace of mind.
Upon leaving the hospital, she realized there were very few pedestrians on the streets. Everyone seed in a rush, reluctant to linger, and the bustling comrcial areas were eerily quiet. Important street corners were patrolled by ard soldiers, exuding an inexplicable oppressive tension.
She had thought the incident at the school was confined there, but now the whole city seed gripped by tension. It appeared the situation was more serious than she imagined.
Who knows if the Councilman Faction and the Queen Faction would co into military conflict? A battle in this city would be truly devastating, turning anyone left into cannon fodder of civil war.
Whether the Imperial College could continue operating was uncertain. She had risked everything, nearly died today, yet staying on left her with no control over the future.
It was truly infuriating!
Yiyi irritably ruffled her hair. The events of the night had exhausted her. To hell with the Queen Faction and the Councilman Faction; she didn’t want to think at all. She wanted to go ho and have a good sleep, dealing with the future later.
Once ho, Madam Aisha t her with concern, about to say sothing, but Yiyi stopped her.
"Mom, don’t say anything. I’m okay, but I want to have a good sleep. You don’t need to worry about anything. As long as I’m here, I’ll definitely protect you."
Yiyi went upstairs, didn’t bother to change her clothes or shower, jumped into bed, utterly exhausted, and soon fell into a deep sleep.
She didn’t wake up until midday the next day, fully refreshed.

Yiyi stretched lazily; in any case, she couldn’t run away now. She had long decided to just take things as they co, and surprisingly, it made her calr.
Let things be chaotic; the wheels of history will move forward. Anyway, common folks like them couldn’t stop it.
