"No..." Yiyi didn’t know how to explain the inexplicable unease in her heart. She always felt that sothing bad might happen in the next few days. She couldn’t pinpoint any evidence, but she had a strong sixth sense.
"Lina, anyway, the courses are all finished, and it’s fine to review at ho. I just feel that sothing might happen soon."
Lina paused, then amusedly patted her on the shoulder, "Yiyi, what are you talking about? You’re overthinking. This is the capital, the place with the best public security. Besides, what could possibly happen at school? You’re overthinking again. Stop letting your imagination run wild, co on, let’s eat!"
Seeing the unconcerned expression on her face, Yiyi couldn’t persuade her. After all, her own speculations were rely baseless assumptions. Maybe she was overthinking.
After all, there didn’t seem to be any gossip outside; otherwise, the school wouldn’t be so calm right now. Other students seed no different from usual.
If there were any changes in the political climate, it couldn’t be completely devoid of leaks.
Thinking like this, Yiyi felt a bit relieved.
However, she still cautiously called ho to ask Madam Aisha if she had heard any news from the social circles recently. The upper society in the capital is an important place for spreading rumors, and the gatherings consist of the wives and children of influential figures, so there must be so leaks.
"Why did you suddenly ask about this, Yiyi? You never cared about these things. Did sothing happen? Or are you trying to find out about soone? Is it that person?"
Obviously, Madam Aisha misunderstood. In the past six months, Yiyi had been like a diligent little bee, completely throwing aside worldly affairs. She showed a crazed determination to get into the Imperial Academy, ready to overco any obstacle, as if anyone in her way would et their doom.
Her burning passion left Madam Aisha unsure whether to feel gratified or worried.
However, she realized that Yiyi’s ambiguous relationship with the Councilman’s son was completely severed.
Later, at a social banquet, when they encountered the Councilman’s son, he wore his usual cold, proud expression, no longer greeting them or asking about Yiyi, almost as if he never knew the mother and daughter.
This was as she wished. After all, she felt that in terms of status and position, Yiyi was not suitable to be with this noble young man, especially now when politics are so tense. He has always supported his father’s various political actions to help the Councilman’s faction suppress the Queen’s forces, while her husband stood on the Queen’s side. Politically, they were enemies.
Such a relationship could have no result and ultimately would beco a sacrifice of politics.
This outco made her breathe a sigh of relief.
But seeing Yiyi later never ntioning him, acting as if she had forgotten him and remained cheerful, she instead genuinely beca worried.
She hadn’t forgotten at all; she was just trying hard to forget. That’s why she never spoke of it, suppressing her true emotions, afraid that ntioning it would trap her in pain she couldn’t escape from!
But is that really okay? If Yiyi’s heart truly loves that man so much that she can’t let go, then she... would rather disregard her husband’s political stance and hope that the child could truly find happiness.
