A mont later, soone knocked on the door, and Ying’s ice-cold voice ca through.

"The Godfather wants to know if you’ve finished your discussion."

Third Young Master Jun, lost in tender affection, was visibly displeased. A chill radiated from him as he sneered, held Ye Lu close, and opened the door, revealing Ying’s coffin-like deadpan face.

"Do you know that ruining soone’s plans will get you kicked by a donkey?" Third Young Master Jun squinted at him.

Ying didn’t respond at all.

Third Young Master Jun found this man utterly irritating. Even though they held equal rank within the organization, which proved Ying’s formidable abilities, his personality couldn’t have been more different.

He lacked even a hint of defiance, always so numb and obedient, like an emotionless robot devoid of human feeling—his apathy made people frustrated to the point of exasperation.

Of course, what Third Young Master Jun hated about him the most was that Ying was utterly resistant to any form of persuasion or alliance. Yes, that trait was truly maddening.

Third Young Master Jun didn’t bother looking at him again and turned to walk toward the Godfather’s room.

Ye Lu’s gaze fell on Ying. Ever since she had uncovered his identity and ultimately decided to let him go, she hadn’t expected to et him again here.

"So it was true—you work for the Godfather. That ti, you infiltrated my side with deliberate intent." Ye Lu had vaguely suspected it was the Godfather who sent the spy.

But when she truly confird that he was the Godfather’s most lethal assassin, her feelings were deeply conflicted.

"Back then, I even saw you as an innocent, naive person, genuinely thinking of keeping you by my side because I worried you wouldn’t be able to fend for yourself and would be abandoned by society. How absurd." Her tone carried unmistakable sarcasm.

Was her judgnt too poor? When she had first laid eyes on him, she truly thought he had an inner world as pure as a blank sheet of paper, filled with untainted white, like a child untouched by life’s realities.

But reality proved in stark contrast—he was a killer stained with dark blood, soone who had wallowed in the very darkest corners of the world for over twenty years. Using her sympathy to get close, harboring malignant intentions.

"Ying, you’re the best actor I’ve ever t and, without question, the most repulsive person."

Ying’s body stiffened, and his gaze dimd.

Still, his face remained expressionless, as icy as frost.

Repulsive? Yes, he had always been so repulsive, a demon clawing its way out of the filthiest abyss. Ever since childhood, this was the life he had been accustod to. In his world, morality had been inverted from the very beginning.

He had never realized that it was evil, that it was vile. No one had ever told him otherwise.

But when she called him "the most repulsive person," his heart clenched in sudden pain. It dawned on him, all the filth on him was unbearable in her presence—the sha of it made him wish he could shrink into the ground.

He had never felt inferior before, but now, for the first ti, he was consud by a deep sense of inferiority and pain.

"The Godfather wants you to go." He looked at her and spoke in a flat, emotionless voice.

Ye Lu also stared coldly at him. "After all, we’ve known each other for a while, spent ten days together—this is all you have to say to ?"

"Yes."

"Hmph!" Ye Lu’s eyes flashed with disdain as she turned to leave, walking a few steps.

She suddenly stopped, turned back toward him, and looked at his face with a puzzled expression.

"Why... are you wearing an eye patch?"

She had noticed earlier but didn’t pay it much mind, thinking perhaps assassins liked to adopt strange styles, possibly finding it cool or impressive.

But upon further thought, sothing felt off. Soone like Ying—cold, utterly indifferent to appearances—how could he inexplicably wear an eye patch to look stylish?
