She returned to her room, fed the child, and then took out a coat and put it on.
Next, she stuffed a prop bought online for playing a pregnant woman under her clothes, tied it around her waist, and let her clothes drape down. It looked almost identical to her figure during pregnancy.
Since she had only recently been pregnant, she didn’t need to imitate the gestures and movents of a pregnant woman. To outsiders, it was impossible to tell that she’d already given birth.
She walked out of the room, preparing to leave, but saw Dr. K also getting ready to head out.
Dr. K asked her where she was going. She said she was headed to the airport, so he offered to give her a ride.
Ye Lu didn’t refuse. This place was incredibly secluded, and leaving unnoticed would indeed be troubleso.
"Where are you headed?" Ye Lu asked him curiously.
"Besides dealing with you as a patient, I also have other patients to care for. To keep your secret safe, I dare not bring Ling Kong here. That kid is too sharp; if he sensed sothing and told your daughter, then your secret would beco public knowledge."
"Ling Kong?"
"Yes. Every six months, I conduct a comprehensive physical examination for him."
Ye Lu was surprised. Ling Kong, that seemingly capable young master, actually had a condition that required Dr. K’s check-up every six months? This was certainly a big issue—one that concerned her daughter’s future happiness.
She silently let out a sigh. But she couldn’t worry too much about it; children carve their own paths.
What mattered most to her now was Third Young Master.
"How’s the research with Dr. Slonan going?"
She firmly believed that Third Young Master could survive. Even after Third Young Master had rejected Dr. K, she still hadn’t given up on having Dr. K continue his research on the formula.
Reports suggested that Professor Slonan’s research had made substantial progress, filling her heart with hope and confidence.
"Slonan has already produced a sample of the formula and sent it to for refinent and testing. We’re currently conducting an experintal trial, mixing the formula with bacterial samples extracted from Third Young Master’s blood."
Ye Lu’s breathing quickened instantly, her eyes glinting with nervous anticipation as she stared at him. "What are the results? Are any of the formulas effective?"
Dr. K replied irritably, "It’s only just begun; it’s far too early to talk about results. But..."
He deliberately paused to tease Ye Lu, whose anxious and expectant expression revealed her inner turmoil, before finally offering reassurance.
"Based on the initial trial phase, this formula does show effects in destroying pathogenic tissues. However, we need to complete all phases of testing to confirm its efficacy across various aspects."
Ye Lu was overwheld with joy. She clasped her hands tightly over her mouth, and the unexpected good news filled her with ecstatic delight. Tears of excitent welled in her eyes.
Luckily, she had never given up and had remained steadfast. She always knew that even a one-in-ten-thousand chance still ant hope for success.
And now, she had seized that one rare chance.
It seed that fate was still favoring her.
...
"Godfather, we’ve received word from the airport that Ye Lu has disembarked from the Hua family’s private jet heading from South Arica. She spent the past few days in South Arica. It seems Hua Linqi really did hide your secret there, and Ye Lu must have retrieved it. Should we act now to take it back?"
Captain Xiao, who was responsible for monitoring aircraft movents, rushed to report this critical piece of information to the Godfather.
The Godfather’s gaze was as dark as the night, his pale fingers brushing across his temple.
"There’s no need. Since she has the item in hand, she’ll co to eventually. If we push her too far, it’ll only backfire."
