Ye Lu couldn’t help but show a trace of joy on her lips. After preparing for so long, she had finally achieved the result she wanted; her mood at this mont was naturally ecstatic.

She walked up to Ji Mo, smiling sincerely, and extended her hand for a handshake. "Mr. Ji, thank you so much."

Ji Mo smiled back, gripping her hand with a teasing grin. "Your little girl is quite a character. At such a young age, she already knows how to whisper in my wife’s ear, who then whispers in mine, pestering to make sure I help her dear in-law. She said it’s the engagent gift for two kids set in advance."

Pfft... Ye Lu choked, coughing violently, caught between laughter and helplessness.

Thinking of that cunning little girl—no wonder she’s been skipping ho cheerfully these past days. Turns out she went to her grandmother’s house to play the obedient child. Sigh, this darling girl is really working hard for her mommy with genuine concern.

She truly felt fortunate to have two treasures who always strived to help and support her.

"But, more importantly, I sincerely want to close this deal with the Hua Clan. It’s a mutually beneficial opportunity for both parties. Your capabilities—I recognize them."

After all, Ji Mo was a bona fide businessman and couldn’t entirely dismiss comrcial interests, especially since they had collaborated on several arms brokerage deals in the past, and he had always regarded her abilities highly.

Thus, his assistance this ti wasn’t solely based on friendship but was a genuine acknowledgnt of her competence.

Ye Lu’s eyes lit up, and she softly said thank you once more. Compared to anything else, being recognized herself brought her the greatest encouragent.

Then Ye Lu turned and walked up to Old Ross. "Mr. Ross..."

"Oh? Not calling Grandpa? That makes sad," Old Ross said with a cheerful smile.

Ye Lu was surprised but smiled. This elderly gentleman really was an intriguing figure.

"Thank you, Grandpa then."

Old Ross waved his hand dismissively. "Why thank ? I only went along with the tide. Who truly deserves your gratitude is the man silently supporting you from behind. To get to step forward, he paid quite a hefty price!"

He had no direct connection with Ye Lu, and his involvent was entirely due to his dealings with Third Young Master Jun, who persuaded him to assist.

Indeed, this couple was truly worth admiration!

Upon hearing this, Ye Lu’s heart trembled. She naturally understood whom he was referring to.

"Go on. I should be leaving now."

The elderly gentleman, supported by his personal aide, soon departed.

Ye Lu could only turn back, lifting her gaze. Through the crowd, as if across mountains and seas, her eyes t Third Young Master’s.

He was standing far away, lingering at the edge of the lively banquet center. Leaning against a white Roman column adorned with carvings, he looked detached. His black tuxedo against the white pillar, two pure colors, made his face—now gaunt beyond semblance—appear all the more pallid.

Ye Lu’s heart clenched sharply, suddenly realizing how frighteningly thin he had beco. He appeared even more frail and haggard than when she had seen him back in the Su Family’s region, his complexion ghostly pale and sickly.

His gaze seed unfocused, wavering as if struggling to stabilize on her, yet the effort ca across strange.

Ye Lu thought his condition was truly peculiar, her heart filling with deep unease. A vague sense of foreboding crept in.

She hurriedly weaved through the crowd, walking toward him. As she approached, she finally saw his disturbingly white face up close. That expression... sothing was unmistakably wrong. His eyes were scattered, unfocused, and his forehead was covered in a layer of cold sweat, dripping incessantly down his cheeks and neck.

His breathing was rapid, his limbs trembling uncontrollably, and even his fingers clinging to the Roman column were visibly quivering.
