"Nonsense, could it be that he’s here to help that woman? How is it possible for two major families to support her? She doesn’t have that kind of influence!" Ivanov sneered disdainfully. "The reason why the Ji Family is willing to step in to help is purely because of that little girl. Her mother gets to bask in her glory, and incidentally, they can irritate , trying to prevent from taking over the Hua Family, expanding my strength, and threatening their position as the top player in the arms industry."
"But the Ross Family hadn’t hinted anything to us previously!"
"Major figures always have their own way of doing things — what’s so strange about that? When my father was alive, he was good friends with Old Ross, and they collaborated on a lot of business ventures. It seems he may be acting for the sake of the Ivan Family’s reputation. And besides..."
Ivanov’s expression turned aningful, a smug, self-assured look overtaking his face.
"Think about it: in today’s business world, the competition between the new elites and the old aristocrats is intense. Though the Ross Family has been a renowned lineage for hundreds of years, in this era, it’s gradually being caught up by erging millionaires. Ji Mo’s status in North Arica’s business circles is becoming increasingly prominent. Wouldn’t Old Ross worry about his family being overtaken? Surely there’s so underground rivalry brewing, and they’ll sooner or later beco enemies. Do you think they’d simultaneously support Ye Lu? Absolutely ridiculous. Go ahead and rest assured; Old Ross is definitely on our side."
Ivanov grabbed her arm and hurried forward.
Huffman had just finished shaking hands with Old Ross and Ji Mo. His politeness was asured, expressing a courteous yet professional welco to their arrival. He briefly discussed the stock market and contemporary affairs in North Arican comrce. Not yet comprehending the purpose of their visit, he remained reserved, refraining from excessive enthusiasm, choosing first to gauge the situation, as he understood clearly that these two were extraordinary individuals.
This was truly intriguing. An otherwise ordinary business cocktail party managed to lure these two heavyweights. So, whose influence had pulled this off? Huffman was genuinely curious — now, this was a true trump card. The only question remaining was whether this heavyweight card belonged to Yiren or Ye Lu!
He was just preparing to introduce Ye Lu standing beside him, before introducing Yiren.
But Ivanov had already rushed forward, radiating eager enthusiasm as he grasped Old Ross’s hand. "Uncle Ross, it’s been a long ti! I’ve missed you so much. Ever since I ca to North Arica, I’ve been longing to visit you. Seeing you still in such robust health makes genuinely happy."
His behavior was undoubtedly abrupt, particularly since Huffman was still engaged in conversation with Old Ross. Ivanov’s sudden interruption, acting as if he were the host himself, was undeniably impolite.
Huffman, though, remained composed, watching Ivanov’s actions with amused interest.
"You’re Holzer’s son? I never would have guessed," Old Ross remarked, his expression tinged with nostalgia.
"Yes, when my father was alive, he was your closest friend, Uncle. It’s such a pity he passed away. If he were still here, you two old friends would surely be delighted to reunite."
The surrounding guests couldn’t hide their astonishnt — so it appeared that Old Ross and the Ivan Family shared a profound bond after all. Looks like he truly ca to support Yiren!
It seed the Ji Family was aiding Ye Lu, while the Ross Family sided with Yiren. So who would co out victorious in this smoky battle? It was hard to say.
The crowd silently speculated in their hearts.
After much comparison, most people felt that Yiren still had the upper hand. First, Yiren possessed an undeniable advantage in performance — an intrinsic factor that directly bore upon the assessnt of an heir’s competence.
Secondly, although the Ji Family’s arms conglorate had been surging strongly this year, it was, after all, only a newly erging force.
