So, the chosen one must be ambitious, decisive, and ruthless enough to have the ability.

Both Yiren and Ye Lu are won who lack maturity and have their respective flaws. Compared to Yiren’s flaws, Ye Lu’s shortcomings might prove more fatal to the group in the future.

In this era of fierce competition and rapid information exchange, the Hua Clan does not need a conservative leader.

anwhile, Ye Lu also arrived. As soon as the car she was riding stopped at the entrance, the reporters sward up.

Flashlights kept flickering nonstop.

The bodyguards kept pushing them back, blocking the reporters from approaching.

Ye Lu stepped out of the car, followed by a group of high-ranking officials from S Company. In front of the dia, she maintained her usual low-profile stance, making no responses nor intending to speak, aiming only to head directly to the banquet.

However, the dia had waited there for so long and weren’t willing to let her off so easily. Suddenly, soone raised their voice and questioned her.

"It’s said that your father-in-law, Jun Shi, will attend this banquet tonight. Considering his repeated attacks on you and exposing your past scandals recently, do you feel angered and resentful? Will you drive him out of the banquet and refuse to let him attend?"

Once his voice rang out, the surrounding reporters instantly buzzed with excitent, their sharp gazes locked onto Ye Lu like lasers.

Earlier, Jun Shi’s revelations about her were confined to the dia stage; presumably, she could tolerate that. But now, it seed he had co personally to cause trouble—surely, this ti, she could endure no more and would erupt.

As expected, Ye Lu’s gaze turned cold, her icy stare sweeping toward the reporter who had asked the question.

The reporter shivered, thinking she was about to lose her temper and lash out.

However, her elegant and serene voice floated into the air.

"I have a clear conscience; why would I fear eting him? His lack of kindness toward is his issue, but as a younger generation and daughter-in-law, I cannot lack righteousness toward him. I welco him to the banquet."

With that, she walked into the banquet.

The reporters were all stunned, left speechless and disappointed. They had hoped to capture her outburst, as such conflicts make for the best headlines.

Not far away, Huffman watched the unfolding scene with his assistant.

Even the assistant couldn’t help but sigh: "She’s just too tolerant, like so kind of ninja turtle. Jun Shi clearly doesn’t acknowledge her as his daughter-in-law anymore, and yet she still puts up with him, even when being trampled on. No retaliation whatsoever."

No wonder the boss chose Yiren. Even from here, watching it feels suffocating. It’s genuinely frustrating.

...

Inside the banquet, Yiren had already arrived earlier, leading a team of high-level executives from D Company. She was engaged in lively conversation with the group’s investors and clients, her surroundings bustling with guests, creating a scene of vibrant energy.

Ye Lu’s entrance stirred a subtle commotion, imdiately drawing Yiren’s attention.

Yiren raised her chin, her lips painted with crimson lipstick curling into a peculiar smile. With a wine glass in hand, she gracefully walked up to Ye Lu.

"Oh? How co your company’s top executives are missing a few mbers? Could it be that you’ve just taken office but already failed to gain your subordinates’ support? Are those who didn’t show up using excuses to avoid you? That would only prove your lack of competence—can’t even manage a few subordinates." Yiren glanced at the high-ranking officials behind Ye Lu and smirked oddly.

Ye Lu looked at her coldly: "There’s no need for you to worry."

"Ha! I wouldn’t bother worrying about you. I’m here to tell you sothing—after Mr. Huffman finishes his quarterly summary speech, it’s our turn. You and I will go on stage to present a consolidated report to shareholders and clients based on our recent work!"

Ye Lu’s expression changed, her eyes darkening: "What do you an? I don’t recall this being part of the agenda."
