Shadow must have done sothing unknown this ti, gravely crossing the godfather’s bottom line.
Shadow let out a suppressed shriek, holding his face in his hands, blood gushing from between his fingers, so dense that the stench of blood in the air was strong enough to make one feel nauseated.
Blood splattered onto the ground, an eyeball resting in the godfather’s hand, his palm covered with deep creases stained with fresh blood, so cruel it made one tremble.
But there was not a hint of pity on the godfather’s face; looking at the eyeball, he sneered with contempt, tossed it on the ground, and trampled on human life without a care.
"Shadow, do you hate ?"
"No..." Shadow released his palms, half his face was covered in blood, so horrifying yet so indifferent.
"Very good, you really are my good child, you are much more obedient than King. Among the three of you, you are my favorite." The godfather picked up a tissue, wiped the blood on his hand, then threw it on the ground, "Mason, take him out to stop the bleeding."
Mason felt a chill in his heart; even as a doctor, the strong sll of blood caused him a physiological discomfort, carrying pity as he took Shadow away for treatnt.
Two hours later, Mason returned and reported Shadow’s condition to Su Feiman.
"This punishnt for the eye seems too harsh; won’t it affect his future work?"
"A dog’s eye, is it really necessary to fuss over?" Su Feiman snorted dismissively, "Besides, if losing an eye reduces his fighting ability, then he is not worthy to be called the top assassin of the organization. Trust , losing an eye will only make him stronger, potential is forced out in such ways."
"Didn’t you say you liked him the most?"
Mason looked at him in shock, hardly believing that he would act so decisively against Shadow, whom he had nurtured for more than twenty years, treating him like trash.
But indeed, this was just the godfather’s style—when ruthless, he was more brutal than anyone, with not the slightest hesitation.
"Right, I like him just as I like a fierce dog, as a perfect killing tool, it is essential to be devoid of any emotion. But he has ruined this perfection, so doesn’t he deserve to be punished? I have been tolerant enough not to kill him! And he dared to hide things from ."
"Hide things, how could he possibly?"
The godfather sneered sarcastically, "He claims he has been by Ye Lu’s side for many days but couldn’t find an opportunity to kidnap her. Even if I believe the Ji Family’s defenses are tight, I cannot believe that my hand-crafted weapon is so incompetent. And he even said, Ye Lu let him go out of gratitude. Ha, the woman showed gratitude, yet he didn’t use it to his advantage, to lure her out, capture or kill her, which disappoints even more! Looks like he’s developed a human side, hahaha!"
If Ye Lu let him go, and he wanted to continue the mission, then he should have figured out a way to lure Ye Lu out – there were in fact many ways, like revealing his own secrets to win her trust. Anyway, there were plenty of thods to capture Ye Lu.
Su Feiman didn’t believe that Shadow couldn’t think of them.
Yet he didn’t do so, resulting in him being outsmarted by Ye Lu tonight.
Mason sighed, "But I believe Shadow wouldn’t betray you."
"I don’t care whether he betrays or not; I only care if he has put forth his best effort to complete the mission. In my eyes, there are only success and failure. If he dared to betray , I might actually respect him a bit more, but reality has proven that he is just a dog."
"No wonder you appreciate King more, he has never submitted to you. You treat him much more leniently than Shadow."
Mason gave a bitter smile; Third Young Master Jun, whether in the open or in secret, was always openly opposing the godfather.
