Hearing her indifferent words that had not a trace of saintly rcy, Ying was sowhat surprised. This woman had a clear view of things.
It seed she was not one of those foolishly compassionate saints, but he still couldn’t agree with the principles by which she operated.
The world is a dangerous place; what’s the point of talking about principles? To survive, one must not hesitate to use any ans necessary.
"Hmph, you will regret today’s decision."
"Oh?"
"Even if you release , this kind of favor won’t make truly grateful to you, nor should you expect to show rcy the next ti we et. When it’s ti to kill you, I will do so without hesitation."
Ying’s tone was cold and rciless as he spoke words utterly devoid of conscience.
The heart of an assassin is the coldest; it cannot be swayed by slight favors.
"Hmm, I know. Are you finished? If so, get lost. I don’t want to waste my ti. This is just repaying one deed with another. Don’t overthink it. I never expected a killer to have humanity anyway. And don’t get it wrong, I spared you this ti, but next ti we et, I will kill you!" Ye Lu spoke calmly, with equal calmness in her thoughts.
It was her misjudgnt that had led to his capture in the first place.
But even so, she suffered no loss; instead, because of his intervention, she avoided Yiren’s trap.
So, what enmity could she bear against him? He was just a hired hand carrying out a job.
Ying was startled and sneered with disdain, claiming she would kill him next ti.
"What a big talk for soone like you? What a joke!"
But he didn’t continue the futile talk. Now that he had the chance to escape, he naturally wouldn’t stubbornly refuse.
He quickly got off the bed, stretching his body, and walked out through the opened tempered glass door.
His cold gaze swept over Ye Lu standing behind another piece of tempered glass, and a gleam of dark light flashed in his eyes.
"Aren’t you leaving?" Ye Lu grunted, seeing through his thoughts, "Stop calculating. You can’t break this tempered glass to capture . And, I’m giving you only one minute to escape. If you can’t do it within the ti limit, don’t bla for the bullet piercing your head!"
"Humph, you think you’re smart." Ying’s face twitched, and the next second, he dashed out like lightning.
After Ying left, Ling Kong appeared in the basent, his handso brows furrowed and his lovely, beautiful face full of disagreent.
"You’re just letting him go like that, you really won’t regret it? You know, this kind of person isn’t normal. An assassin by nature of killing, most of them are devoid of emotion. They live only for gain, have dark souls, lack conscience, and will not be grateful for being spared. More often, they seek revenge for the goodwill they’ve received."
Ye Lu quietly put away her gun.
"Yes, I know. From the look on his face, I can tell if he’d had the chance to capture , he would not have spared either."
Ling Kong was speechless. Knowing full well the other person was like this, yet still letting him go, he could not understand her way of thinking. She usually seed a rational woman who didn’t act foolishly.
"Considering his skill, he is not an ordinary assassin. Releasing such a formidable and vicious person is tantamount to freeing a tiger back to its mountain."
"Not necessarily."
Ye Lu suddenly revealed a sly smile, a flicker of bizarre light sparkling in the depths of her eyes.
Ling Kong asked in confusion, "What do you an?"
"Releasing him, on one hand, is indeed because he saved ; I didn’t want to kill him. I don’t wish to owe such a debt of gratitude. On the other hand, there’s another purpose."
Ye Lu gazed out into the night from the window, her expression solemn and thoughtful.
