Ye Lu shuddered violently, her heart clenched into a tight ball as she numbly collapsed onto the ground, her entire being dazed.
His words struck right at her most vulnerable spot. She wasn’t afraid to die, and she’d rather die with him.
But she had a child, she couldn’t just disregard the child inside her.
Third Young Master Jun, seeing her co to her senses after hearing about the child, felt relieved. He guessed right, for the sake of the child, she could do anything, endure any pain and still choose to live on.
Even if he really died, they still had four children, enough to soothe the grief in her heart and allow her life to go on.
But then he heard Ye Lu’s hoarse voice rise up again.
"But I... still can’t leave, I can’t abandon you."
Third Young Master Jun’s breath choked, and he almost collapsed. Why was she so stubbornly unyielding, knowing that staying ant dying together, yet still so obstinate?
The sorrow in his heart grew, and he beca keenly aware of her profound love and devotion; her willingness to lay down her life for him without a second thought.
But what’s the point if love can’t go on?
He only wanted her to live, simply just live.
"Ye Lu, I thought you were a rational person."
Ye Lu just gazed at him foolishly and countered, "Are you? If you were, would you have fallen to this low for ? I only ask you one question..."
"What is it?"
"If the tables were turned, and I were the invalid dragging you down, would you have the heart to abandon to die alone and save yourself?"
Third Young Master Jun turned his head away, falling into silence.
Ye Lu cried and laughed, "See, you can’t leave behind either, and now, I’ve rely made the sa choice."
Let her be irrational just this once then; in her life, she had never received this kind of love, nor had she ever loved a man this way.
She just wanted to be with him forever, whether in life or death. Is that so difficult?
If fate decreeds that they can’t live happily together, then let them head to the Yellow Springs together!
Love had seeped into her bones; what she sought was a shared life or, at the very least, a shared grave.
"Fool." Third Young Master Jun lowered his head and kissed her tear-stained lips deeply.
Ye Lu’s heart leaped with joy, but the next second, it shattered.
Because after his lips left hers, the gun that had been lying on the ground was in his hand. His kiss was just to distract her, and she had fallen for it.
She looked at him dumbfounded, as he pointed the gun at his temple, his expression calm and undisturbed.
"You can’t force like this?" She scread in agony.
Third Young Master Jun pulled the trigger, looking down at her with desperate eyes: "If you don’t leave, I’ll die in front of you right now. Ye Lu, my word is my bond!"
Ye Lu fell to the ground sobbing, her heart and lungs felt as if they were being torn apart, completely devastated, tears rushed out like a flood, her chest felt like it was being burnt by a fierce fire, the pain penetrating to her soul, every inch of her being trembled with extre agony.
Why, why even the thought of dying together is not allowed?
She felt so much pain, such bitterness.
Fate was so cruel to her, granting her the luck to et him but not the happiness to love him, even forcing her to watch him dying and to abandon him.
In this mont, she truly wished she could just die right there and then, so she wouldn’t have to face all the cruelty.
Not having to, when preferring to die, still choose to live and personally leave behind the person she loved most.
But she couldn’t.
She couldn’t watch him put a bullet through his brain.
"Okay, I’ll go!" she said through tears, gazing at him.
Then, two hours later, she packed so belongings and continued on alone.
