My SSS-Rank Skill and System is too OP in Modern Cultivation world Chapter 53 53: A new type of fire is found but Kent doesn't
---
He was on the lookout for intruders. With every opening of a ruin or pocket dinsion, nurous greedy individuals and foreign organizations sward to claim any treasure they could. While it wasn't a problem to let them try their luck, there was always the risk of so going too far—killing weaker individuals to steal from them.
That's why the World Alliance had implented strict rules: no one was allowed to enter a ruin or pocket dinsion unless they were a mber. This allowed the Alliance to hold people accountable for their actions. Those who caused harm would be dealt with swiftly.
Rustle… rustle…
The faint sound of movent reached Logan's ears. He tensed.
Another one. His eyes snapped open, honing in on the source of the disturbance. A surge of spiritual energy hit his senses—definitely a Level-B cultivator.
"You are not allowed to enter," Logan's voice rang out, firm and calm. "Turn back, or I will be forced to take action."
The reply ca swiftly, dripping with defiance. "The ruins of this world belong to all of mankind. Why should only World Alliance mbers be allowed entry? We refuse to join any organization. We value our freedom."
Logan's expression remained impassive. "The World Alliance does not restrict your freedom. It only requires you to be registered so that if you break the law, you can be held accountable. If you refuse to join, then you are a criminal. And there is no rcy for criminals."
The unknown cultivator's hands ignited with yellow fire, flas swirling around his fingers in preparation for an attack. "Then I will kill you and enter the ruins. You're alone here. No one will know."
Before the man could finish his sentence, Logan's movents were a blur. With a flick of his wrist, his sword was drawn from its scabbard. Its gleaming blade caught the light, sharp enough to slice through the air as if it were nothing more than paper.
Whoosh!
A sword aura shot through the air, slicing towards the cultivator at lightning speed. The cultivator didn't have ti to react. The blade sliced clean through his neck, the impact too sudden to comprehend.
What's happening? The cultivator's vision began to blur. Why am I—
He never finished the thought. The last thing he felt was the searing pain in his neck as his head plumted to the ground. His body remained upright for a mont longer, the yellow flas in his hands expanding wildly before consuming him in a fiery explosion.
SLAM!
Logan, unbothered, kicked the decapitated head like a soccer ball into the growing flas. He watched with detached interest as the Level-B cultivator's body was reduced to ash.
When the fire finally died down, only a tiny, glowing yellow orb remained—about the size of a tennis ball. It burned fiercely, unaffected by the destruction around it.
Clank!
Logan sheathed his sword and reached into thin air, pulling out a small spiritual box. He carefully collected the yellow fire, muttering to himself. "A treasure... This must have co from another ruin."
He stored the orb within the box, then extended a thin spiritual line from his ring. The line wrapped around the box and pulled it into the ring, the spatial tool now holding the treasure.
Spatial tools are artefacts with an inner space that can be used for storage. They are bound to the user's soul and can only be transferred upon the user's death or if soone stronger takes them.
Back at the Graveyard Mountains, Jade Monroe stood on another hilltop, gritting his teeth in frustration.
"That old man refused my offer. If he had agreed, we could have taken all the treasure together. What a waste."
TSK! TSK! TSK!
He clicked his tongue, annoyed, before pausing mid-thought. A sudden realization struck him. Wait a minute... I forgot sothing. What was it…?
His eyes widened. "Oh, right! My storage bag!" He cursed under his breath. "I need to grab it before I leave. Where else would I store all my loot?"
With that, Jade turned around and hurried off to retrieve his forgotten bag.
anwhile, on a bus full of students, Kent stared out the window, lost in thought. The rolling fields outside blurred as the bus rumbled along. Why hasn't the system given my level-up reward yet? Kent mused. If I get it before we reach the ruins, it could be helpful. Maybe it'll help inside...
Suddenly, the familiar system sound rang in his mind, like the chi of a bell.
Ding!
The level-up reward is ready. Congratulations, host.
Reward: SSS-Rank Architect of Creation.
Details: The host can create and design objects, provided the materials are available.
Kent's eyes widened in disbelief. Another SSS-Rank skill?! The system really is overpowered! His heart raced with excitent, but quickly, his mind shifted to the next question. How do I use this new skill?
System, how does this work? Tell what I need to do.
Ding!
The host lacks the necessary materials, and the conditions for usage have not been t. The system will notify the host when the skill can be used.
Kent sighed in mild frustration. So I can't use it yet… Fine, I'll wait. But for now, let's focus on the ruins.
His eyes shifted to his right, where Ethan sat, half-asleep. The other students around them were either yawning or chatting idly, bored from the long ride. Mia Carter, as usual, was silent, lost in her own world.
Kent nudged Ethan, a plan forming in his mind. "Ethan, wake up! I need to ask you sothing. Do you know what kind of treasures can be found inside a ruin? I've only seen vague references about them being full of treasure, but nothing specific."
Ethan's drowsy expression evaporated instantly as his eyes snapped open. "Ah, let tell you!" he said, sitting up straighter, now fully alert. "There are many types of treasure you can find. Spiritual tools, powerful artefacts, spiritual resources like food and dicine, and even ancient cultivation techniques."
Kent leaned in, eager to hear more. Ethan continued, "In the centre of the ruin, there's always the core—an artefact of unimaginable power. There's usually a boss monster or guardian that protects the core. The area is filled with dangerous creatures, so ancient spiritual animals and others... well, inhuman."
Kent listened intently, his eyes gleaming with excitent. "If you manage to take the core, the ruin will close forever," Ethan added. "But those cores are incredibly valuable. They're the most powerful artefacts from ancient tis. They hold unimaginable power, but because spiritual energy was absent for so long, they've weakened over ti. As spiritual energy returns, however, these cores will regain their forr strength."
Kent's eyes sparkled. I'll take everything. Sell it all and get rich. Super rich.
Ethan sighed, knowing exactly what was on Kent's mind. "Be careful, Kent. There are people who kill others to take the treasure. So even disguise themselves as World Alliance mbers just to get into the ruins. You have to watch your back."
Kent nodded absently, still lost in his thoughts of treasure. Rich, rich, rich...
