As he surveyed the crowd, Nima tugged at his sleeve. "Big brother, let's get moving! Why are you standing like a lost puppy?"
Kent forced a smile, though his mind " Nima got a very sharp tongue. I need to do sothing.
Alright, Nima. Let's head out before the ruins open. I have a feeling we need to be there first—if we wait any longer, soone else might snag our treasures."
Auri chirped in agreent, flapping his wings excitedly.
Kent took one last look at the military blockade, then led his team through the guarded entrance. As they advanced toward the heart of the Ruin area, he couldn't help but think about the strange blend of chaos, humour, and duty that defined their lives. Every mont was a balancing act between following orders and carving out their own destiny.
"Alright, listen," Kent announced as they walked inside the camp, "Let's keep our heads down and our eyes open. I'm counting on you two to watch my back—and mine on yours."
Nima rolled her eyes good-naturedly. "You always have a way of making everything sound like an epic adventure," she said, half-joking, as she adjusted her spatial bracelet.
Kent grinned, "That's because it is an epic adventure."

Kent grinned, "That's because it is an epic adventure."
The sun cast a golden hue over the bustling ruins grounds as Kent, Nima, and Auri walked through the camp, weaving past officials, cultivators, and eager onlookers. The air was thick with the scent of roasted at, sizzling spices, and freshly baked bread. Laughter and chatter filled the space, blending with the occasional clash of weapons from the sparring grounds nearby.
"Chirp! Chirp!" Auri suddenly flapped his wings, perching on Nima's shoulder, his beady eyes locking onto a large tent in the distance. "Guys, stop! Look, there's free food! It's lunchti, and these people are so generous they're giving away free als!" His excited voice cut through their conversation. "Stop talking, and let's eat—I'm starving!"
Nima's attention imdiately snapped toward the tent. Under the vast canopy, a grand buffet was spread across several long tables. There were at least fifteen different dishes, each one piping hot, with clouds of steam rising into the air. The aroma of slow-roasted at, spiced chicken, and buttery bread was so strong it felt like an invisible force pulling them in. The scent of curry, grilled fish, and fresh vegetables mixed together creates a mouthwatering temptation.
Nima's stomach responded with a deep, rumbling growl.
"Groooor!"
She placed a hand over her belly, trying to suppress the embarrassing sound, but her face was already lit up with excitent.
"Kent, let's go eat!" she declared, her eyes practically sparkling. "It slls amazing! And it's free! I think I'm already starting to like this Nexus and Watcher thing. Maybe I'll consider joining them and let them beco my underlings!"
Kent coughed, nearly choking on his own breath, and imdiately covered Nima's mouth with his hand. "Nima, please! What is wrong with you?" he hissed, glancing around nervously. "Why do you always have to speak your mind like that? If soone hears you, we might get in trouble! First, you insulted Nexus Yang Li, and now you're saying you'll make them your underlings?"
He lowered his voice and leaned closer. "Do you want them to beat up?! With the way you've been talking, they'd probably bla and say I didn't teach you any manners."
Nima shrugged, her expression nonchalant. "Relax, big brother. Don't be such a scaredy-cat. Once my third servant, the Demonic Sect Leader's soul, materializes, I'll have a Level-B cultivator as my personal servant. The highest cultivation of Nexus and Watcher mbers are also Level-B, so what's the harm in working under ? They should be happy."
Kent sighed, rubbing his temples. "Cough, cough… Nima, don't say things like that out loud. I told you to keep your soul power a secret. You're a summoner, understand? No one needs to know the specifics."
"Fine, fine," Nima grumbled, rolling her eyes.
Kent shook his head and pointed toward the buffet. "Now, you and Auri go eat. I need to check in with so friends first, but I'll join you soon. And please—don't piss anyone off."
As Kent walked away, he couldn't help but shake his head at Nima's reckless confidence.
He thinks, "If she had the SP earrings technique and a system like mine, she'd probably be earning more SP than . Kids these days are terrifying. I wonder how parents even handle early teenagers. Then again… even though I'm technically still a teenager, I never had the luxury of being one. With Nima around, I have to be responsible and act like an adult."
He let out a long sigh.
Navigating through the dense crowd, Kent was shoved from the side by an impatient man. Then, another person accidentally poked him in the cheek while gesturing wildly. His irritation flared.
"Damn bootlickers. I just want to et my friends, but these guys are making it impossible."
A mischievous grin spread across Kent's face as an idea popped into his mind. He channelled his spiritual energy, summoning a flickering wisp of hellfire on his fingertips. The tiny, candle-like fla danced at the tip of his index finger, barely noticeable amid the bright daylight. He let a single spark fall to the ground with a casual flick.
The reaction was imdiate. The dry grass ignited, and within seconds, flas licked at the feet of the nearby bootlickers. Their expensive shoes caught fire, and panic erupted.
"FIRE!" soone scread.
People jumped, yelping in shock as they stamped at the flas, desperately trying to put them out. So ran in circles, flailing their arms, while others tripped over themselves in the commotion.
Kent watched the chaos unfold, his grin widening as his system notifications flooded in.
Ding! System notifications-

More and more notifications popped up, forming an endless cascade of rewards.
Among the fleeing crowd, Ethan caught sight of Kent's familiar smirk. Instantly, he knew. "Kent, you little prankster!" Ethan called out with a laugh. "I should've known this was your doing!"
Kent chuckled, rubbing the back of his head. "Co on, Ethan, you know I can't resist ssing with bootlickers. It was them who poked first."
Ethan shook his head with amusent. "If I had known you were coming, I would have personally welcod you. Mia and I arrived with our families. Regular students weren't allowed to enter the ruins this ti."
Kent raised an eyebrow. "Then how did all these bootlickers get in?"
"Oh, they all work for different organizations or clans that are part of the World Alliance," Ethan explained. "Only those affiliated with the World Alliance were granted entry this ti. These guys are just here to suck up too rich young masters and powerful families. Just ignore them."
Kent smirked. "So, does that an you're the young master of so big-shot family? Why don't you Cough out your family na?"
Ethan waved his hand dismissively. "Enough about . My family na isn't important. I'm your friend, not so young master. Now let's get out of this crowd—I know a quieter spot."
Kent nodded. "Sounds good. But first, let introduce you to my little sister. She's over at the buffet and maybe stuffing her face right now."
The two of them walked over to the tent, where the buffet was still in full swing. Nima and Auri were seated at a table, happily devouring their food. Around them, Mia and several other young masters had gathered at Ethan's invitation.
Among them was Ryan, the old bully who had once given Kent trouble. But the most striking figure was a massive man nad Harper Li.
