Controlling blood that was expelled directly from his body was quite reckless, as it not only consud more mana than normal, but also shaved little off his health each ti.
The more blood he used, the more damage it did to him.
That was why he preferred using the blood of his guild mbers instead. Not that theirs was better or more powerful than his, it was simply easier to control and manage.
But in that dire mont when Terry’s arrows were flying at him, he barely had ti to think, drawing out a substantial amount of blood from his body to form a shield.
Crack!
The cracks on the blood shield quickly multiplied, spreading across its surface like spiderwebs.
Shatter!
The entire structure suddenly blasted into smithereens, scattering into the air.
Yano’s eyes widened.
Swoosh!
However, before he could even defend himself, the last three arrows slamd into his torso.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
His body was sent flying, spiraling through the air like a broken doll.
Blood sprayed from his mouth, and his body felt like it was being stung by a million needles.
But monts before he hit the ground, his instincts flared.
Blood burst from the soles of his feet, spraying out like fus from a jet.
He twisted mid-air, utilizing the blood propulsion to glide sharply through the air, breaking his fall.
His body wobbled a bit, but he managed to steady himself, halting just a few ters above the ground.
"Aghh..." he grunted, panting heavily.
Then—
A sudden flash of white light ca from above.
He stiffened, his gaze instinctively snapping upward, and what he saw made his blood run cold.
Descending from the sky, spear raised above his head was none other than Terry, the weapon radiating with a bright golden light.
"People’s lives... are not ant to be toyed with!" the hero exclaid, swinging the spear down with force.
FWOOSH!
An powerful crescent of light exploded from the spear, blasting towards Yano at rapid speed.
Yano barely had ti to react.
"Wai—"
The attack slamd into him before he could even complete his words.
BOOOOOOM!!
The force behind the attack hurled his body downward like a cot, and he smashed into the ground with a loud bang.
Dust and debris spread out from the center of the crash, scattering all around him.
"Ugh..." he grunted, slowly staggering back on his feet.
His coat was stained with dust, and the upper part of his armour was badly damage, with a deep gash running across his torso.
Blood slowly oozed out of the wound, but strangely enough, not even a single drop spilled to the ground.
Instead, the blood hovered above the wound, forming a wobbly coat around it.
Clak! Clak!
Suddenly, a strange sound ca from his side, and his eyes narrowed in confusion.
He slowly turned his head to the side, and right beside him was the gigantic body of the Crimson Blood Scorption, its massive tail already descending.
Yano’s eyes widened in horror.
’I... I won’t be able to make it!’ he thought, his body freezing up in short.
It was just his terrible luck that out of all places to crash, he crashed right in front of the monster boss.
He was still recovering from the damage done to him by Terry, and there was no way for him to move fast enough to dodge the incoming tail.
But then—
BANGG!!!
A deafening bang rang out as sothing suddenly smashing into the monster’s head, knocking it to the ground.
Yano’s breath hitched, his back drenched with sweat.
Swoosh!!
A powerful gust exploded from the point of impact, sweeping violently across the entire boss area.
"Ghh—!" Yano flinched, shielding his eyes with his arm as the dust rushed past him like a hurricane.
The other players within the area stumbled from the gust, so even falling over.
Terry himself grunted, struggling to maintain his balance as the wind pressure slamd into him.
He gnashed his teeeh, eyes narrowing in confusion.
’What the hell was that...?’ he thought, staring at the thick cloud of smoke that now covered the boss zone entirely.
He floated lower, watching carefully as the dust began to settle.
Then he saw it.
A silhouette... that of a lone figure standing atop the scorpion’s large head.
Terry’s eyes widened. ’Is that... a player?’
He blinked, trying to get a better look.
’No... maybe an NPC?’
But even as he squinted, the air around the figure shimred oddly, distorted by the thick cloud of dust.
And that was when Terry saw it.
Hovering above the figure’s head were three status tabs, except, they were nothjng like what would normally be shown on any player.
[???]
[???]
[??? / ???]
His expression darkened instantly.
’Those... are question marks?’
A cold chill ran down his spine, and all hairs on his skin stood upright.
He muttered softly, "It’s just like... that monster... the hungry demon."
He could still rember that monster even now, its terrifying strength... and how close to death he had gotten while fighting it.
This figure gave off that sa feeling he got while fighting that beast.
His heart started beating faster as he stared at it, beads of sweat rolling down his face.
And Terry wasn’t the only one thinking this.
Every player watching the scene, even those who hadn’t witnessed the rampage of the hungry demon felt it...
That sa suffocating pressure. That sa unnatural aura that clawed at their nerves, warning them that what stood before them... didn’t belong here.
Yano’s mouth was dry, his legs trembling slightly beneath him.
He grit his teeth, whispering under his breath, "The hell... is that thing...?"
After the dust cleared a bit more, they could all see the huge crater left on the ground where the beast was knocked down, as well as the huge dent on the thick armour of the monster boss’ head.
It remained still on the ground, dark red blood slowly oozing from its head.
Like Terry, Yano too stared at the figure in disbelief—shocked at how he casually flattened the terrifying scorpion in one strike.
