The red orb at the tip of his staff dimly pulsed once, almost like it blinked... and in response, the massive blood orb above it split apart with a violent shudder.
Fwoosh!
Two long, sharp arrows ford midair, each longer than a grown man’s arm.
"Go," Yano whispered.
The blood arrows scread through the air like javelins, speeding directly toward Riley’s face—each aid precisely at his eyes.
Riley’s head turned slightly.
Growl!!
He growled loudly in annoyance, and just as the arrows were about to strike, he swung his right arm, and then—
Wham!
He casually squatted them away.
The mont his hand made contact, the blood arrows imdiately dissolved back into blood, splattering across the broken ground.
Yano’s eyes widened, his feet skidding to a halt.
The rest of the group, seeing their leader co to a stop, also paused in their advance.
"What...?" he mumbled, gnashing his teeth.
’How is that possible?’ he thought in disbelief.
Those arrows were tightly bound with mana, condensed to the point that they could pierce through steel itself.
From the mont the used his talent, they weren’t just blood... but weapons of destruction.
One single swipe shouldn’t be able to dissolve them, but sohow, they had.
His expression twisted, confused and alard.
Before he could process it further—
RAAAAAARGHHHH!
A soul-shattering roar exploded from Riley’s mouth, shaking the heavens and tearing through the air like a shockwave.
Even the players charging behind Yano faltered, their boots scraping against the cracked ground as the pressure of the sound physically pushed against them.
Yano clenched his teeth, his hands gripping his staff tighter.
His ears rang, but his instincts scread louder.
He then realized how wrong he and his sister were with their earlier assessnt. This... wouldn’t be an easy fight.
The roar echoed for several seconds before finally fading.
And then—
GrrrrrrUUUULLLLL!!!
A deep, guttural rumble echoed from Riley’s stomach, louder than anything humanly possible. The sound vibrated through the air, as if it ca from the earth itself.
Even from ters away, the players heard it.
Riley hunched slightly, a hand gripping his gut as he muttered in a voice that sounded more beast than human, "Need... more... more food..."
Yano blinked.
He had heard stomach growls before, but that... hadn’t just been a growl.
It sounded like a second beast, caged within the monster’s body, clawing to get out.
"What the hell..." Yano whispered, eyes narrowing.
But before he could think further, a shout erupted beside him.
"You need food, huh? Then eat this!"
Yira’s voice was sharp, playful, and dangerous.
Yano’s head snapped toward her just in ti to see her burst forward, sprinting at full speed toward the monster.
"Wait—Yira!" Yano shouted, his hand reaching out to grab her, but it was already too late.
She was gone.
Her daggers had already been drawn, and her lips curled into a wide grin.
’I’ll cut you up nicely...’ she thought, the grin on her face widening in excitent.
Then—
Shlick!
Her entire body shimred.
She vanished in an instant, reappearing less than a ter away in front of Riley.
"Damn it, Yira!" Yano spat, gripping his staff tightly. "All units—move! Support her!"
The other players didn’t need to be told twice.
They surged forward, weapons at the ready, closing in from all sides in a compact formation.
But Yano’s heart twisted in his chest.
A bad feeling had begun to well up inside him, like a cold spike shoved into his spine.
He hated it. He hated that he was doubting her. But sothing about that monster... felt wrong.
anwhile—
Yira’s eyes glead with bloodlust, and her daggers flashed.
She twisted her body midair, swinging the blade in her right hand in a swift arc toward Riley’s thick neck.
Phantom Predator—that was the na of her Talent.
An S-rank ability that let her teleport to any location within thirty ters—so long as she could see it.
But that wasn’t all, each strike she landed with daggers dealt two hundred percent more damage.
And her presence was masked—rendering her almost invisible to enemy senses until the mont she struck.
Her talent was tailor-made for assassination, which was why she chose [Assassin] as her main profession.
But just as the blare was about to sink into Riley’s neck, his hand suddenly swung out like a club.
It moved at terrifying speed, so fast Yira couldn’t even follow it.
Wham!
Before she could even think, the hand slamd into her chest like a teor, sending her body flying back like a rag doll.
—1510[Critical Hit!]
The strike caved in her chest with a sickening crunch, her ribs shattered, and blood sprayed out of her mouth mid-flight.
Bang!
She slamd into the side of a crumbling building with a deafening crash, and her body imdiately disintegrated in tiny white particles, mixing with the dust from the crash.
"YIRA!" Yano scread, his blood turning cold.
The sight of his sister dying imdiately pushed all sort of reason off his mind, and his eyes turned bloodshot.
He tightly clenched his grip on his staff, all the splattered blood within ten ters radius around him rippling violently.
"Diee!!!"
He charged forward, dragging the blood in long, red tendrils behind him like spectral whips.
The beast in front of him might be powerful, even more than all of them combined, but he didn’t care anymore.
No matter what, he would make that thing bleed!
"All of you! Attack now!" he scread without looking back.
His squad, which were previously stunned by the sudden death of Yira surged forward with him, roaring in determination.
Bolts of fire, arrows laced with mana, earth spears—dozens of skills flew toward Riley in a chaotic storm.
Yano led the charge, spinning his staff as he willed the blood into sharp spikes, aiming them at Riley’s torso and face.
"Die, monster!"
But—
Smash!
Riley’s foot slamd against the ground, sending a ripple through the cracked earth.
Then—
WHAM!
His arm blurred, smashing aside the incoming attacks like they were made of paper.
CRUNCH!
He raised his knee, shattering an earth spear mid-flight.
BAM! BAM! BAM!
He continued smashing away all the attacks heading towards him, as they were all to slow in his vision.
A beast summoner rushed forward, his two huge shadow wolf summons howling angrily as they charged with him.
The summoner stretched his hand, commanding the wolves to bite Riley’s legs.
But Riley’s red eyes glead the mont he saw them.
GROWLLLL—
He lunged.
His hands grabbed the wolves before they could even react, flinging them into his wide, gaping maw.
"NOOO!" The summoner shrieked.
Splat!
But next thing he knew, a large hand whipped towards him, whacking his head off his neck with a pop.
A few tried to flee, realising too late that there was nothing they could do against this monster.
Another player tried to flee—too late.
But Riley didn’t let them go, smashing and stomping them without rcy.
Screams rang out, blood spraying like water under the relentless assault of Riley.
And within seconds, none of them remained... except one.
Yano Yeves... the leader of the group.
"No..." he mumbled, staring at the chaos around him in disbelief. "How... is this possible...?"
