While the monster was still trashing around from the pain, Riley quickly leapt off its back.

He twisted mid-air, landing with a roll that carried him several ters away, boots skidding across the rocky ground.

Roarr!

By the ti he skidded to a stop—roughly ten ters out—the beast let out a deafening, guttural roar.

BOOM!!!

Smoke exploded from its body like a ruptured dam, surging outward in a circular shockwave.

The blast radiated with imnse force, splintering the ground beneath it.

Thick chunks of stones were forcefully uprooted from the ground like paper, sent flying into the air.

The smoke surged out, tearing up the ground in a five-ter radius before vanishing into thin air.

Riley stood untouched, eyes gleaming.

He smirked.

"Just like then..."

In his past life, he’d seen the exact sa move.

Back then, he’d watched from a screen as Terry clashed with the sa beast.

Whenever the boar was cornered or wounded, it released that dense, concussive blast of smoke to push its enemies back.

It was a panic chanism—a counter against close-range attackers.

And sure enough, it had worked.

Terry had been forced to disengage back then, buying the monster a few critical seconds to regenerate.

Riley rembered how infuriating it had been to watch, how the monster’s smoke steadily thickened again, healing injuries that had taken blood and effort to inflict.

Riley wasn’t going to let that happen.

He narrowed his eyes.

The smoke around the boar was thinner now, less oppressive.

However, more smoke was slowly oozing out of its skin again, and it wouldn’t take long before the cloud fully returned.

He didn’t hesitate.

FWOOOM!

A fireball suddenly blossod in front of his hand, heat flaring up in the air.

With a flick of his wrist, the fireball rocketed forward.

WHOOSH!

It tore through the air like a blazing cot and struck the monster dead center—right at the open gash in its thick neck.

BOOM!!!

The explosion rippled outward, engulfing the beast’s wounded flesh in fire and force. Fire sizzled into the wound, and the beast let out a shrill, animalistic grunt.

A bright red notification flashed across the air above the boar’s head.

—120! [Critical Hit!]

[Burn Effect inflicted!]

Riley’s eyes glead.

Swoosh!

His foot slamd against the ground, and he sprinted forward with fluid grace.

As he moved, his hand flicked up, and a thin, glimring brown spike erupted from his palm—narrow, sharp, and aid with deadly precision.

SHNK!

The spike blasted out and lodged itself deep into the monster’s still-smoking neck wound.

Another howl echoed through the air—twisted, ragged, and furious.

—84! [Critical Hit!]

The beast thrashed, its legs scraping the stone as it tried to turn toward him again, but the wound on its neck greatly slowed down its speed.

Blood no longer oozed oozed out of the wound, but a small amount of fire remained on its surface, stinging it continuously.

—20!

—20!

—20!

It’s health kept ticking down bit by bit due to the burn effect, just like Riley had expected.

[Spike shot level up!]

[Skill "Spike Shot" now level 3!]

A notification flashed across Riley’s eyes, but he ignored it, focusing on the monster boss instead.

He dashed forward like a blur—cutting toward its blind side.

SWISH!

He dove low, legs folding beneath him as he slid straight under the beast’s massive fra.

SHHK! SHHK! SHHK!

Three slashes tore out in an instant, each one sliced directly across the exposed flesh of the boat’s thick, pulsing throat.

The monster jerked violently—its hooves scraping against stone as it tried to react—but Riley had already slid out between its hind legs like a phantom in the dark.

He rose to his feet in a spin, both daggers slick with dark red blood.

SHINK!

With a casual flick, he swiped them clean through the air and turned to face the monster.

Growl!

It growled weakly, choking on its own blood.

Blood continued pouring from the three slashes spread across its neck, and its body trembled in agony

Then—

THUD!

The great beast collapsed onto the ground with a violent quake, the blood from its neck forming a dark pool around it.

[Level 20 Mutated Dark Fanged Boar Killed!]

[ 270 EXP]

[Item Drop: Dark Fanged Daggers (Epic Grade) x1]

[Stealth Level Up!]

[Skill "Stealth" now level 5!]

Riley smirked, letting out a low exhale.

He lowered his blades, eyes fixed on the hulking corpse of the monster.

"I did it." He muttered.

A pair of daggers soon materialized above the monster’s body, dropping with a low clang.

Each one rested in a pitch-black sheath, with only the black hilt showing outside.

Riley’s smirk widened into a grin joy.

He quickly grabbed the blades, weighing them with his hands.

They felt a bit lighter than his current daggers, and he could tell from their grip alone how much more powerful they were.

Both daggers were curved, clearly modeled after the mutated boar’s vicious fangs.

’Epic grade...’ Riley mumbled inwardly, slowly drawing one of the daggers from its sheath.

A beautiful silver blade erged—elegantly curved and dangerously thin.

Thin red veins, just like the ones on the monster boss’ fangs crawled up to the tip of the blade, pulsing faintly with energy.

"An Epic grade weapon." Riley murmured, still in disbelief he managed to lay his hands on it.

In his past life, Terry had been the one who got this weapon after defeating the monster.

It was the first Epic-grade weapon ever discovered, the previous ones being only rare, uncommon and common grade.

However, since Terry didn’t use daggers as his main weapon, he dashed them to one of his friends.

Riley could still rember how much people were talking about the daggers both within and outside the ga, jealous of the one who received it.

He had also been jealous after learning the true worth of an Epic grade item, but now, that sa item was in his hands.

’Yes!’ Riley almost scread out loud, and the daggers imdiately vanished from his hands, reappearing at his sides with their sheath, in place of his previous daggers.

The latter fell to the ground, and he simply picked them back up, placing them in his storage ring.

Since he had no use for his old pair of daggers, he would simply sell them when he had the chance.

’Today’s adventure has already brought a lot more rewards than I expected.’ He thought, turning back to the boar’s corpse beneath him.

His stomach rumbled, and he subconsciously licked his lips, already salivating.
