Leon’s words turned the atmosphere heavy, and both ladies stopped eating. Evelyn’s whole body trembled, and she couldn’t bring herself to say anything.
"Why do you overthink so much, Mom?" Leon sighed, knowing that he had stepped on the wrong spot. "I don’t care what happened back then or whether he knows that I exist or not. As for hating him, as long as he doesn’t co to hurt you again, I have no reason to hate him."
He put a atball in his mouth and added, "He’s just a stranger to . From the way you defend him, I can see that he wasn’t the one who hurt you... directly at least, so I wouldn’t hate him for that. If I ever et him in the future, we’ll just be strangers."
He smiled at his mother and said, "But if you want to get together with him, I won’t mind either. You wasted too many years on , so if you want a life now, I won’t say anything. I don’t have any right to."
"Are you trying to play cupid for your mother?" Amber asked, amused by his words.
"Have you ever seen the look on her face when that man is ntioned?" Leon rolled his eyes. "She’s too deep in this, so might as well make her happy."
While Amber chuckled at that, Evelyn knocked on his head and said, ’Stop talking nonsense and eat. I’m fine the way I am, and I’m also satisfied with my life.’
Leon shook his head at her and focused on the al. The others did the sa, since the food was really making their stomachs churn in hunger.
After dinner, Amber offered to help wash the dishes, but Evelyn rejected it and sent both of them to their rooms. She could have hired Doodles for the work, but she liked to do it herself, so even Leon couldn’t say anything.
Once they arrived on the first floor where their rooms were, Amber waved her hand and said, "I’ve made a noise-cancellation barrier along with a Rune Formation that will suppress the Essence Fluctuations, coupled with a few others, so you can rest easy and do whatever you want. No one will know of it."
She tapped him on the forehead and said, "But I will keep an eye on both your soul and your physical body. Is that fine?"
"Yeah, but don’t freak out if you sense anything with my soul," Leon warned her, since he wasn’t sure if anything unusual happened with his soul while he was in the dungeon.
Amber nodded and said, "I’ll still keep an eye. Anything that can help you progress fast never cos without a price."
"I know that better than anyone else." Leon chuckled before entering his room and feeling as if he had passed through a flimsy barrier.
He didn’t imdiately go to sleep and instead began working on rembering the places where he could find treasures and opportunities to help others.
But most of them involved the Primordial Expanse, which put him in a tough spot. Still, he made notes of them too, even though he couldn’t recall all of them.
Then, he focused on the things he could find on Earth and made a rough plan. He was especially excited about finding the treasures.
’If I rember correctly, in the side quest of Natasha’s backstory, we go to Valentor Town and find the Core of a Nine-Tailed Fox there. We can bring the expedition early.’
Just like that, he made plans for everyone, including himself, since he also needed so boosts. But once he finalised everything, he realised one important thing.
They were too weak.
’I can’t ask Amber for everything. She’s also busy normally, so I’ll have to find a solution myself.’
Leon sighed before closing everything and going to bed. He cald his mind and tried to sleep, but it wasn’t easy since he had already taken a long nap during the day.
Still, he tried, and before long, his consciousness began drifting toward a distant yet very close purple portal.
Once it passed through that portal, Leon regained control of it and woke up. His eyes snapped open as he looked around once again.
It had beco routine for him to first check his surroundings for any sneak attacks. It wouldn’t do well if he was smashed to the ground the mont he woke up, after all.
Once he confird that he was alone in this part of the adows, he relaxed slightly but still kept his guard up. Then, he began to stretch a little.
’That bastard... you’ve played enough with . Today, it’s my turn.’ Leon grinned as he rembered the Mosspounder.
The monster had been haunting him ever since he entered the dungeon for the first ti. The damned thing had killed him so many tis and inflicted so much pain.
Leon’s hatred for the monster was really very high. It was just that he had been too weak until now, so he couldn’t take his revenge.
But now things were different.
He was also at Tier 2, and the monster was at Tier 2 as well.
Although Leon wasn’t completely confident in taking revenge, since he had no clue about the monster’s full strength, he was still confident enough to fight it properly now.
He stopped stretching and took out his favourite baseball bat from the inventory. He had asked the little bunny to retrieve it from the hovering car.
He swung it a few tis and nodded in satisfaction. "You’re as brilliant as ever. Sadly, I won’t be using you against that bastard. It dared to smash my head, so I will return the favour too."
He threw the bat back into the inventory and took out the heavy war hamr. He hadn’t been able to hold it properly before because of its weight, but now that he was at Tier 2, it had beco much easier.
Swinging it around for a while, Leon got familiar with its size and weight so that he could use it better in battle. After all, this was the first ti he was using a hamr, and without any proper technique at that.
’If I’m good at this, I’ll ask Amber to give a hamr technique so I’m not an amateur at least.’
Once he was familiar with the hamr, he gripped it tightly and rembered the enchantnt on it.
Tier 2 artefacts weren’t much different from Tier 1 in most aspects. The only thing separating them into different tiers was the fact that Tier 2 artefacts, most of the ti, had enchantnts.
This war hamr was no different.
"Impact Burst," he whispered, recalling the enchantnt’s details. "Effect: Every strike releases a shockwave that deals minor AoE damage and can stagger weaker enemies. Hmm, it suits the hamr’s heavy-hitting style."
The enchantnt was quite good but was only effective if he was fighting multiple enemies.
’I should have used this in the Fla Knight Dungeon,’ he groaned in annoyance. ’I guess that miasma also affected my thinking capabilities.’
He shook off those useless thoughts, put the hamr on his shoulder, and grinned. "Ti to hunt so rabbits for testing first. Then, I’m coming for you, bastard tree."
