"Sothing is wrong."

Grey touched his own chest and frowned. Even though the man he fought carried the unmistakable presence of the king, whom he had already evaporated into nothingness with his Aura Lightning, this one fought differently.

More precise. More powerful.

Too refined in combat.

A better version of how the king had fought, although noticeably weaker in raw strength.

Just then, two silver spears tore through the air.

In the nick of ti, Grey vanished from his spot and reappeared a ter away.

The spears landed and unleashed terrifying destruction, ripping through everything in their path.

Looking at the familiar spears, Grey’s pupils dilated as he stared at the two approaching n, identical in appearance.

They looked exactly like the king of this kingdom. But Grey had already killed him twice. And now there were two?

Grey cursed in his heart. Starlight glittered around his clenched fist, his gaze sharpening with focus.

The two kings didn’t give him ti to think. They shot through the air, aiming to encase him and end his life.

But Grey was faster. His figure vanished as he activated once more, launching a ruthless counterattack at the two kings.

The battle resud.

This ti, even his spiritual energy had run dry. All Grey had left were his skills and titles and it wasn’t enough. Gradually, inevitably, he was being overwheld by the relentless onslaught.

One opponent had already been too much. Now there were two.

Grey panted heavily, using again and again to dodge, but the skill was draining. It burned through his stamina like wildfire, and its limits were drawing near.

Barely a minute had passed and Grey was already on the brink of collapse.

Then, in a fleeting mont of distraction—

A lance pierced straight through his chest.

The King wrenched it out without hesitation.

"Ahhh!"

Grey scread in pain, a bloody, gaping hole in his chest. He had narrowly avoided a fatal strike to the heart, but the pain was unbearable. With a heavy thud, he collapsed to his knees.

The two kings stared down at him with unreadable expressions, their eyes cold and unmoving. But, strangely, they didn’t finish him off. They just... stopped.

Confusion flickered in Grey’s eyes. But he didn’t waste the mont.

He focused his mind on the image of a budding lotus, slowly, it began restoring his depleted spiritual energy. At the sa ti, he tried his best to allow his body to heal, even as searing pain pulsed through the bloody gap in his chest.

But the wound was too deep.

Muscles twitched and writhed around the hole, struggling to knit together, but it was far from anything close to recovery.

One of the kings grabbed a fistful of Grey’s hair and yanked his head up:

"Do you know why I haven’t killed you?"

Grey stared at the two identical figures with a calm, almost detached expression. Not a trace of fear or panic touched his face, though by all rights, it should have.

"Because you want sothing from ," he said flatly, resisting the urge to roll his eyes at the obvious.

"Haha! Correct guess." The king grinned, laughter laced with madness: "Do you know why there are two of us?"

Grey didn’t need to think long.

The answer likely lay at the very foundation of his power, power built not only in this world, but across countless others.

The core talent that made him so overwhelmingly strong, so impossibly persistent, that even when an Outer God had interfered to let that Leviathan seize control of the world, he still couldn’t be killed.

Everything from his titles, his skills, his might revolved around a single talent.

His own SSS-Rank skill:

"Clones," Grey murmured, locking eyes with the King. His voice was calm, certain.

"You have a Grimoire that allows the user to create clones."

The King flinched, just slightly, eyes narrowing, lips twitching with surprise.

"How did you know, brat?"

"So, it is true," Grey said calmly.

Such a broken thing, a Grimoire that can allow you to clone yourself and also allow you to retain their strength. An utterly broken skill. Luckily, his was even more broken, but Grey was alone right now.

"Yes, it is true." The king narrowed his eyes, then spoke with an even deeper voice. "Do you know why I have kept you alive now?"

"You want to clone to get my powers and remove my mories sohow so that I will serve this kingdom."

"..." The king didn’t know what to say at this mont. It was as if Grey knew everything about his plan, as if it was written in a script or sothing.

Grey, of course, with a modern mind, had seen countless plots till now and knew perfectly about it. Although he was also curious, would this plan work on him?

He had the skill that perfectly filtered all the unnecessary information from his mind, so it was very hard for one to remove his mories.

Even if one could do it, he could simply restore them back with the help of the others.

"So?" Grey tilted his head, curious.

Bang!

A kick ca for his gut, launching him flying backward by several ters. Grey then coughed violently.

"What, kid? Did you think that just because you know my plan, you will escape from it?"

Both kings laughed in madness while looking at each other, then they dragged Grey inside the destroyed palace.

Grey didn’t muster any resistance. Honestly, he was curious how this would play out. As long as his life wasn’t in danger, he could always think of a counterasure for it.

Soon, he was led to an underground place, not of the ice palace, but farther away from it.

Passing through a dark hallway, a blue light imdiately shone right into his eyes the mont he entered the place.

Grey tightly closed his eyes, letting them adapt to the light before him. After so ti, he could finally open them and looked around at his surroundings:

"Hmm?"

A blue Grimoire floated in the void, and there were dozens of kings surrounding the Grimoire, identical in every sense.
