Felix slowed his sword mobile as he arrived above Lungarde to take in the sight of the situation. It was chaos.

He could see people being chased by skeletons and zombies, but luckily the undead were slow in their movents. People didn’t turn from a scratch or bite and only beca one of the undead if they were killed by the mobs. It wasn’t as bad as Felix had thought, as there were soldiers inside clashing swords with bones and claws and there were safe houses people had boarded themselves up in. But all that would prove ineffective the mont the Blood Moon curse was activated.

Chelsey had closed in behind Felix and began spamming fireballs at the undead from above and burning them to a crisp. They were no match for her flas.

Then Lucy arrived, illuminating the city in her bright radiance but doing nothing more than just floating above, serving as a substitute star that lit up the city in her holy light. Felix wasn’t sure what she was doing and didn’t think bringing peace of the heart to the people in that mont of crisis would help the matter, as undead mobs didn’t have a heart and wouldn’t start to reflect on the chaos they’d brought upon the city and inevitably repent.

That was when he noticed the undead were no longer running after the people, but running for shelter against the holy radiance. The undead who didn’t make it in ti were turned to crisp and their ashes scattered in the wind. As long as the people weren’t in a dark corner or shade and ran into where the holy light touched, then they were safe.

To say Felix was amazed would be an understatent. Lucy’s ability was simply too good. Now imagine if she had used this back at the Sahuagin dungeon. Ga over. The fight would’ve ended as soon as it started.

Felix couldn’t help but feel more annoyed at Aaron for his selfish sches which could’ve endangered the party’s life if things had gone south.

He was going to make Aaron pay for breaking their trust, and after all this was over, he was going to stuff Lucy in a briefcasxe and take her with him to perform his Sage duties in Vastoria.

Felix swept his gaze across the city looking for any signs of Aaron which would give away the location of Lady Morwen The Deathcaller, or any infrastructure that looked like a mage tower where Lady Morwen might reside, though he didn’t know if they had that from the fantasy book he read here.

There were no mage towers, or even any towers in sight. But there was sowhere Felix could check out which was the palace, as if there was soone who could perform magic—which you don’t see every day in Vastoria—in the city, then the palace shouldn’t be a strange place to find them.

Felix looked down at Athenae who was cleaving the undead mobs three at a ti in half, before pointing to her at the most prestigious infrastructure one could sight from anywhere in the city.

Athenae nodded in understanding, having already dealt with all the undead in the area, then sprinted for the palace. Felix took in the sights of the city one last ti, convinced that it was under control, he then soared towards the palace as well, still sweeping his eyes around the buildings for any signs of Aaron.

On arriving at the palace, the gates were ajar and there were bodies sprawled all over the place twitching in pain. They were the guards supposed to be protecting the palace from intruders but had already been taken out. They all had one thing in common—or more like their injuries had one thing in common: bullet wounds.

"I’m guessing we’ve found Lady Morwen." Athenae comnted as she took in the grueso sight.

"Yeah... luckily he didn’t kill them." Felix replied as he could see the majority were clutching their arms, shoulders, or legs, bleeding profusely. The unconscious ones were from blood loss. But they didn’t have ti to save anyone or call down Lucy who was saving even more lives by dispelling the undead.

Felix understood that as a Sage he couldn’t save everyone.

"Let’s go."

They ran into the building where there were even more bodies at every corner, all taken out by Aaron, but they didn’t stop as they wound through staircases and hallways. Inside, the building seed to be even bigger and contained never-ending stairwells leading to identical hallways.

Felix was certain he would’ve been lost if he had co alone, as you couldn’t follow the body trails which were everywhere like Aaron was expecting their arrival.

But what Aaron didn’t know was that Athenae was more than a barbarian in characteristics, she had abilities similar to a barbarian and was tracking every single turn he’d made on his way up through his scent. Not missing a corner.

They had just wound into yet another identical hallway but Felix had co to trust Athenae to lead the way—not that he had a choice—when a wall to the side before them burst open and with the debris ca hurtling a familiar figure who was thrown into the opposite wall with so much force that a crater had ford and the wall was only a poke away from crashing down the other way with Aaron.

Peeking into the hole made in the wall, Felix could see the vast throne room of the king of Lungarde with the throne seat on the far end and a figure calmly seated on it with a black orb which seed to absorb all the lights in the room cackling before her.

Lady Morwen The Deathcaller.

The king of Lungarde was nowhere in sight and the room space was occupied by several armored knights wielding devastating weapons that looked like they could cleave the sun in half. They radiated the aura of death with the glowing orbs in their eyes looking like windows to the underworld.
