"Manager, do you know them?" Betty asked curiously as she cleaned up the utensils.
"I don’t know them," Chen Ze shook his head. He certainly didn’t know these otherworldly siblings, he hadn’t known them at the beginning, but he would know them later.
"Then why did you..." Betty hesitated for a mont but didn’t say the words ’stick your nose into others’ business.’
The chaotic demon realm, no demon would unconditionally help another, even if they saw the other dying, lying on the ground wailing, all they would do is squat next to them, intensifying their pain before calmly watching them die.
"What’s wrong with doing a good deed every once in a while?" Chen Ze couldn’t comprehend these demons’ way of thinking; he thought that it was very normal to draw one’s sword to help when witnessing injustice on the road.
"In the demon realm, no demon acts this way, and if they do, it’s with deeper considerations," Betty shook her head, expressing her bewildernt. Even in her inherited mories, Betty couldn’t understand Chen Ze’s actions.
"Is every so-called gift already priced by destiny?" Chen Ze laughed and shook his head. According to Betty’s words, there was no need for him to have taken in this poor Succubus in the first place.
Although it was indeed with the thought of finding a waitress that Chen Ze had taken Betty in.
Betty stayed silent, thinking of her own experiences. Although she knew that this was how the demon realm operated, she harbored so resentnt towards her clan after being expelled.
"Manager, long ti no see," a gentle female voice said, sounding sowhat familiar.
Chen Ze turned his head and saw Alisa in a glamorous dress.
"Alisa? It’s been a long ti. Where have you been recently? You haven’t been to the restaurant," Chen Ze said joyfully as he closed the refrigerator door, rembering that he indeed hadn’t seen this girl for a long ti.
"I... I dealt with so family issues. Who is this?" Alisa glanced at Betty.
Chen Ze stroked his chin, feeling that there was a subtle difference in Alisa from before. If the Alisa of the past gave him the impression of a haughty princess,
now, Alisa struck him as a very composed and reserved woman.
"I am Betty, a waitress at the Dream Restaurant," Betty bowed respectfully.
Alisa nodded at Betty and then sat in her usual spot.
"Dear guest, what would you like to eat?" Betty fulfilled her duty as a waitress.
"Do you have a nu?" Chen Ze couldn’t help but cover his face. Poor nu, it still hadn’t found its place. Chen Ze decided he would create one after Alisa left.
"We don’t have one yet," Betty shook her head, as Chen Ze had not provided her with any nu.
"Then I’ll have a al recomnded by the manager," Alisa said unconcernedly while thoughtfully tapping her fingers on the table.
Chen Ze nodded, tied on his headscarf, and then went back to the kitchen. He now had an idea in mind and decided to serve that dish to Alisa.
Alisa looked blankly at the familiar restaurant; she rembered how she ca here initially, and what she had eaten.
When she thought of her father, Alisa felt a gripping pain in her chest. To avoid marrying that perverse prince, she had rebelled, only to be captured and dismbered.
That was Duke Rose! The Duke had earned lifelong illustrious military achievents and had made immortal contributions to the Empire!
Alisa’s eyes narrowed, now having developed a deeper understanding of so-called royalty.
"Soday, I will overthrow you... Nolan Empire..." Alisa muttered in a low tone.
Betty suddenly shivered and involuntarily touched her arm. It wasn’t cold here...
Of course, Chen Ze was unaware of Alisa’s inner thoughts and even if he knew, he wouldn’t care. How Alisa sought revenge was her own business.
Chen Ze was struggling over whether to make this dish or not—Stead Pot Chicken.
As a famous dish from Yun Province, Chen Ze felt that Stead Pot Chicken was not yet within his grasp, but he had made it several tis under his mother’s guidance before, so he decided to give it a try.
"Let’s make one pot first," Chen Ze said without hesitation, as he took out a chicken from the fridge and started preparing the Stead Pot Chicken.
After all, he had all the necessary seasonings for Stead Pot Chicken, and the cooking utensils were complete.
While making the Stead Pot Chicken, Chen Ze also prepared a glass of chilled Paluda, as the Stead Pot Chicken would take a while, and he could let Alisa have a drink in the anti.
"Betty, take it out," Chen Ze said as he placed the finished Paluda in the fridge, intending it for Alisa instead of the one he had planned for Betty.
"Alright, Manager," Betty imdiately ca in and took the Paluda out.
Alisa looked up and saw a tall glass in front of her, filled with a white liquid; she thought it must be milk.
"What is this?" Alisa asked, a bit puzzled.
"This is a pre-dinner drink, Paluda," Betty explained quickly.
Alisa picked up a spoon and scooped up a piece of hard bread, taking a bite.
It was dry and crispy, but it didn’t catch in her throat. Unlike ordinary white bread, it was even tastier.
"It’s supposed to be soaked before eating," Alisa, having tried many dishes, quickly realized that the hard bread was ant to be soaked in milk.
After soaking the hard bread for a while, Alisa scooped it out with her spoon.
A completely different taste—after being soaked in the chilled milk, it beca even more delicious.
Alisa nodded in satisfaction, took out a piece of paper from her pocket, and wrote down the flaws she had detected.
"The sweetness is too intense, a bit cloying..."
anwhile, Chen Ze had brought out the first trial dish.
[You made a passable Stead Pot Chicken, Huaxia Cuisine experience increased by 3 points]
A new category, Chen Ze originally thought he would unlock the Dian Cuisine collection.
Chen Ze scratched his head; the quality of this Stead Pot Chicken was deeply related to his cooking skills—his shortcomings were fully reflected in it.
Chen Ze sighed, it seed he could only start by improving the quality of the ingredients.
Chen Ze gritted his teeth and took out the Moonlight Mushroom, cutting a small slice to place in a small bowl for later.
He then took out another chicken from the fridge, specially for making Stead Pot Chicken. Taking a deep breath, Chen Ze knew he needed to be even more ticulous this ti.
He finely chopped the Moonlight Mushroom, put it into the stear pot along with the other ingredients for the Stead Pot Chicken, and then placed the stear pot inside a soup pot. After blocking the gaps with cheesecloth, Chen Ze lit the fire.
As ti passed, a rich fragrance wafted from the stear pot and spread throughout the entire restaurant.
Alisa sniffed the aroma; it was delightful, incredibly delightful. She could detect a familiar scent within it.
Although she had been waiting a long ti, Alisa felt that if the dish was indeed made with Moonlight Mushrooms, then any wait was worth it.
After all, Moonlight Mushrooms only appeared once every fifty Light Years!
