"Testing ?" Chen Ze was a bit curious. He had also overheard so of the conversation, but no matter how he listened, it all seed to be very normal chatter, with nothing out of the ordinary.
"Yes, that woman... she must not be from our era. I’ve seen the way she drinks tea before; it was invented by a nouveau riche parvenu. Aside from their new wealth, there is nothing noteworthy about them," Moriarty’s eyes flashed with a hint of disdain.
In the true circles of nobility, there are never so many tedious and pretentious elegant manners, everyone just eats normally. Nobility never shines through the actions of dining, but rather through their speech and conduct.
"Moreover, that nouveau riche parvenu, to my knowledge, is from Germany, and this woman is not of that lineage. Besides, considering her attire, I’m certain she isn’t a person from our ti," Moriarty said with conviction. He could tell these things with just a glance.
"But why then say she was probing for information about you?" Chen Ze grew even more curious. Unlike Professor Moriarty, he had the perspective of a god, naturally knowing that the brewery employees wouldn’t casually interact with a strange foreigner.
"It’s quite simple, Mr. Manager. A person who obviously isn’t from your era hears of you, and instead of being surprised, cos over to chat. During the conversation, she confird my era, identity, the fact that I was once a professor, and even extracted the na of the school I worked for. Isn’t that deliberate?" Moriarty put down his gloves, finding the lemon chicken feet simply too delicious.
"I see..." Chen Ze blinked. Wasn’t this just a conversation? How did it yield so much information?
"However, Professor Moriarty, since you discovered this, why didn’t you stop it?" Chen Ze grew even more curious. If Moriarty had already seen through Vermouth’s intentions, why didn’t he stop her and instead told her the truth?
"Because it’s interesting," Moriarty poured himself a glass of iced tea. He felt that Chen Ze’s chicken feet and iced tea this ti were made deliberately because the iced tea could alleviate the spicy sourness of the chicken feet after drinking.
The corner of Chen Ze’s mouth twitched; ’interesting’ indeed, but that was in line with Professor Moriarty’s character. The man just loved to play with sches and plots.
Chen Ze shook his head and stopped concerning himself with Moriarty, picking up the box that Betty had brought in and placing it on the table, while Betty diligently washed the dishes nearby.
"Quite heavy," Chen Ze twisted his wrist and then opened the box.
There weren’t any treacherous chanisms; it was just a very ordinary box. However, inside it was packed with ingredients, Chen Ze saw top-quality Wagyu beef, the legendary caviar that was said to be more expensive than gold, and even a leg of ham.
"It’s confird, this brewery must be using top-quality Wagyu as currency," the corner of Chen Ze’s mouth twitched. These items weren’t necessarily bad, but for Chen Ze, they were sowhat of a white elephant.
"Never mind, let’s look at this," Chen Ze opened another box, and then saw a large pile of jade jewelry and various gemstones inside, the entire box radiated with dazzling brilliance.
Chen Ze took a photo and sent it to his sister, along with a caption.
"Sis, our family’s rich now."
"Tsk, keeping up with current affairs," Chen Ze stretched lazily. He had co across this while scrolling through social dia before falling asleep last night and was touched by the adorable sister. Why did his own understanding sister beco such a violent, sharp-tongued little sister now?
So it’s true, one’s control over their sibling fades over ti, doesn’t it?
"But now that you ntion it, it seems that post has been proven to be a story, a fabricated tale. I didn’t expect it to cause such a stir... Well, such a cute and sensible sister indeed only exists in the realm of fiction." Chen Ze shook his head; the biggest victim in this situation was the artist.
"Boss, if one day, Kasugano Sora and Akizuki Airi ca to your restaurant, what would you do?" Betty asked in a wistful tone.
Chen Ze was stunned. What kind of overwhelming question was that? Was one Sora not enough to satisfy your greed?
"I might let them take a Forbidden Magic Stone with them when they leave," Chen Ze said, the corner of his mouth twitching.
Those who hate having a sister have surely never had one like Sora. Kasugano Sora could be considered the ambition of a group of gentlen, but Chen Ze could only chuckle. Everyone with a real sister knew that sisters usually have a very strange relationship with their brothers. So sisters wouldn’t talk to their brothers for a long period of ti to the point where, if they didn’t live in the sa house, you might suspect they were strangers.
As for Akizuki Airi...to be fair, Chen Ze felt that a father like that deserved a thousand trips to the electric chair in the real world.
"Eh? I thought you’d fiercely pounce on them, Mr. Manager~" Betty teased, looking at Chen Ze with a mischievous smile.
"Enough of that. Act more human," Chen Ze rolled his eyes and then chased Betty out, telling her to bring a pot of iced black tea for Professor Moriarty.
"Mr. Manager~ Betty sis~" The door opened, and Ronna’s energetic voice ca through.
"Eh~ Little Rona, welco to Dream Restaurant. First, go to Professor Moriarty to study~ The boss will get your pizza ready," Betty said cheerfully, patting Ronna’s head.
"Okay." Ronna set down the flower basket and then made her way to Moriarty’s side to begin today’s studies.
Chen Ze glanced at the restaurant and had to admit, Moriarty and Ronna did give off a certain father-daughter vibe, since Professor Moriarty was a very gentle scholar, at least in appearance.
"Let see..." Chen Ze pondered; they were out of bacon, and he hadn’t made a purchase yet, so he would have to change the flavor for Ronna this ti.
"Then I’ll make a pizza loaded with durian. Durian pizza too has passed the market test," Chen Ze nodded. Although the durian pizza was considered dark cuisine when it first appeared, those who tried it later all gave positive feedback.
Moreover, Chen Ze had quite a lot of durians. So fruits were seasonal, so he had stocked up plenty in advance, just so he could make fresh and delicious fruit dishes in winter.
"By the way, speaking of which, tomorrow is the Mid-Autumn Festival. Looks like I’ll need to go shopping this afternoon." Chen Ze glanced at his phone. This year’s Mid-Autumn Festival shared the sa day as the motherland’s birthday, making it particularly morable.
Chen Ze looked out the window. It was still morning outside. Maybe they should open a bit later tomorrow, and then have Lafra create a full moon illusion...
Perfect.
