When the first ray of morning sunlight shone on Chen Ze’s face, Chen Ze finally groggily climbed out of bed.

"Sothing’s not right... Why am I so sleepy today?" Chen Ze yawned and then glanced at his phone, it was already 8:30 AM.

8:30 AM, a ti that could induce a bit of panic in office workers, unless their ho was right below the company’s building, otherwise it basically ant being late, which often ant losing the attendance bonus, incurring fines, and in so companies that emphasized "wolf culture," it might even lead to employees doing squats or other physical punishnts.

So companies operated almost like illegal ones, frighteningly so, with a 715 work system, making it uncertain whether they were squeezing their employees or their lifespans.

Luckily, Chen Ze no longer needed to go to work, as he was his own boss, so he could live as he pleased.

"Achoo~" Chen Ze sneezed.

Chen Ze touched his own head, it was burning hot, and he instantly understood what was wrong with him, it would have been strange if it wasn’t a cold or a fever.

"This is such crap... no wonder I’m so tired." Once he realized he had a fever, his throat also began to hurt faintly, which made Chen Ze a bit irritable.

"Darling, what’s wrong with you?" Sothing warm hugged him from behind and laid on Chen Ze’s back.

"It’s just a bit of a cold, nothing serious," Chen Ze said with a smile as he patted Lafra’s head. Normally, at this ti, Chen Ze would choose to take so cold dicine.

"Hmm~ Let help you~" Lafra extended her hand, and before Chen Ze could stop her, she touched his forehead, and imdiately after, Chen Ze felt all the discomfort in his body vanish, replaced by a sense of refreshnt.

"I... thank you," Chen Ze said with a tearful laugh. He had planned to use the cold as an excuse to take a day off, but before he could put his plan into action, Lafra had cured him.

"Hehe~" Lafra laughed cutely, and seeing her smile, Chen Ze really couldn’t stay mad. He gave up and got up to wash and brush his teeth.

"Mr. Joichiro Yukihira hasn’t gone back already, has he?" Chen Ze worried as he quickly finished washing up, changed clothes, and ran downstairs, unlocking the door.

"Oh my, young man, what’s with you today? Why are you opening the door so late?" Sure enough, just as he opened the door, Joichiro Yukihira walked in, frowning slightly and looking at Chen Ze with a sowhat dissatisfied gaze.

He wondered if Chen Ze had gotten cocky, thinking he was great just because he had learned a few things? Joichiro Yukihira felt it was ti to seriously show Chen Ze what a real chef was like.

"Sorry, I had a bit of a cold this morning and just took so dicine for it," Chen Ze said sowhat awkwardly.

"Is that so? Then today let’s learn how to make soup, I know a kind of soup that’s sowhat helpful in treating colds," Joichiro Yukihira nodded, still sowhat doubtful, but the teaching had to go on.

"Okay!" Chen Ze nodded energetically, only to find that Joichiro Yukihira’s gaze had beco inexplicably profound.

That little rascal! Full of energy and yet claiming to have a cold?

Joichiro Yukihira put down his backpack, twisted his neck, and it seed the ti had co to let Chen Ze experience what having a cold should really feel like.

Chen Ze shivered, but he didn’t think much of it, probably just after-effects of the cold. But very soon, Chen Ze realized he was practically in Hell.

...

"Brother... you still don’t want to visit Mr. Manager’s place?" Elena looked at her brother Andrew with concern. Ever since the last ti they left the Dream Restaurant, Andrew hadn’t gone back to the restaurant.

"Elena, we owe Mr. Manager too much. Even though he is a good person, it’s not right for us to keep relying on him like this," Andrew shook his head, then with a powerful punch, he broke the tree in front of him.

Elena didn’t say anything. She felt her brother had beco a bit strange. Her brother used to stand strong in the face of any trouble. But after his resurrection, he had moved away from the city to a notorious lawless zone.

Perhaps his profession gave it away.

Her brother used to aspire to beco a Paladin, but now, he had started walking the path of a thief and had even joined so organization...

Elena was very worried. Although she was young, she knew that those organizations wouldn’t train her brother for nothing. Eventually, they would demand so kind of paynt from him.

"Brother... let’s go back... The Paladin Academy has already issued an apology," Elena whispered.

"Don’t talk to about that place!" Andrew pulled out his dagger and ruthlessly stabbed it into the wooden post.

"Hmm..." Elena hung her head low, not understanding what had happened to her brother, why he had changed so much. This Andrew, this version of him, frightened her a little.

Andrew twisted his neck and pulled out the dagger. He still needed to go to the organization’s gathering point. Only by drinking a special potion could he quickly beco a force to be reckoned with.

Andrew knew that the potion had side effects, but he didn’t care. Every ti he thought about the pain he endured before his death, and the guilt after being saved, he felt as if there were thousands of ants biting inside his heart, unbearable.

"I will repay Mr. Manager," Andrew clenched his fist and then pushed the door and walked out.

Elena bit her lower lip lightly, looking out the window at the sky. Actually, their current life was quite good, at least better than when they were vagrant children. They had a small house, bedding, a place to sleep, and even food. Although it wasn’t as good as the dishes prepared by Mr. Manager, at least they could eat their fill.

But Elena felt very uncomfortable. This wasn’t the life she wanted. She would rather live with her brother in the icy and snowy wilderness, where sitting around a bonfire could make them happy for a long ti, and eating Mr. Manager’s dishes would lead to a night of blissful sleep.

She would much prefer to go back to those tis, when her brother worked hard at school, striving to beco a Paladin, while she waited in a shabby shed for her brother to bring als ho from the Paladin Academy’s student cafeteria.

"Brother..." Elena lowered her head, tightly clenching her fists, she had already made up her mind.

Andrew always said she was stubborn and once she set her mind on sothing, not even a horse could pull her away, but Elena felt her brother was also very stubborn. Clearly, Mr. Manager didn’t mind, but Andrew stubbornly refused to go to the restaurant.

Elena felt this wasn’t good, not good at all. Therefore, she decided to do sothing big so that her brother could beco the smiling Andrew he used to be.

"I can definitely do it!" Elena patted her cheeks, boosting her own morale.

"Co on!"
