After reaching an agreent with Nyarlathotep, Chen Ze returned to the kitchen, holding in his hand the object Nyarlathotep had given him. Chen Ze intended to try out this otherworldly version of Hearthstone to see if it was like last ti, imprisoning a horde of souls within. If that were the case, Chen Ze would still politely decline.
Chen Ze stood in the kitchen, hesitating for a mont, but he still extended his hand and pressed it against the stone. The next mont, a light flashed, and Chen Ze saw a beam of light shooting out from the stone. Then the Hearthstone interface ca up, looking quite realistic.
Chen Ze reached out and pressed on the card shop, and then the Classic card pack appeared, seemingly Nyarlathotep wasn’t in a rush to add other expansions. Probably Hastur had explained to It the path of evolving online gas, saving Chen Ze a good deal of trouble.
Since it was given by Nyarlathotep, Chen Ze saw that he had 99999 Gold Coins, which made him laugh. It seed he could also experint with the card pack’s drop rate.
"Rare rare rare rare!" Under the clear blue sky, Chen Ze didn’t mind, since it was only the first pack. He had to say, though, that the sound effects Nyarlathotep provided were pretty good, sounding exceptionally grand.
"Rare rare rare rare!" Chen Ze’s mouth twitched, fifteen packs in and still clear blue skies, not a Legendary or even an Epic in sight.
"Could it be that I’m really African?" Chen Ze began to doubt his life choices.
Chen Ze numbly clicked on card packs, continuously opening them, but no matter how many he opened, he always ended up with a bunch of Rares. If he hadn’t checked with Nyarlathotep midway through, making sure Legendary cards were indeed added to the ga, Chen Ze would have suspected that Nyarlathotep had forgotten to include them.
"Sigh, I guess I’m truly cursed, I give up." Chen Ze sighed. Sixty packs and not a single Legendary; he had lost all hope.
"Manager, what’s this... Eh? Is this Hearthstone? Did Lord Nyarlathotep invent it?" Betty walked in, looking curiously at the virtual projection.
"Yeah, Classic packs, just trying them out." Chen Ze nodded and then continued to knead dough, preparing to make Tianjin-style stead buns. He suspected this ga had no Legendaries.
"Let try~" Betty walked over, bought a card pack, and dragged it to the center, spinning it three tis to the left and three tis to the right.
"Wow, a golden Legendary!" Chen Ze froze, then turned his head back and saw Betty had pulled out a shimring, exceptionally good-looking golden Lao Buddha.
"The drop rate is so high!" Betty was amazed. The Lao Buddha on the card could move, looked like a real person, and had such a kind and compassionate gaze.
"Heh heh.. this ga... It has a pretty high drop rate..." Chen Ze kept comforting himself, surely it was because he had first opened sixty packs, triggering the ga’s pity tir, so Betty lucked out with a golden Legendary imdiately.
"Wow, Legendary!" Betty drew another Mage Orange Card.
Chen Ze silently put the stone away. He decided to let Nyarlathotep take it back and then wait for the Goddess of Magic to rise to power before trying it again—though he had no idea if the Goddess of Magic’s network could even connect here.
Chen Ze rembered what Hastur had done before and thought that he might be able to connect to the otherworldly internet through the loophole Hastur had used.
"It tastes good, Manager. Next ti I will bring my own ingredients." Nyarlathotep wiped its mouth. The porridge and fried chicken tasted excellent, and Nyarlathotep was quite satisfied.
"Welco to co again next ti." Betty saw off Nyarlathotep and then took the bowls and chopsticks back to the kitchen to wash them.
The restaurant had once again entered a period of downti.
"Boss, that restaurant from last ti..." Vodka sat in the car, uneasily glancing at Gin who was beside him.
"I know, it’s been reported to the organization, but we haven’t gotten any valuable leads, heh, what an interesting restaurant." Gin took a drag of his cigarette, his gaze very cold.
"But we really did..." Vodka was still anxious, after all, the incident last ti had caused them quite a bit of trouble.
Lord Rum thought the two of them might have done sothing shady during their mission, falsely reporting intelligence. If it weren’t for the investigation that indeed found the kids described by Gin, Vodka and Gin would have been under the organization’s scrutiny.
"That’s why this ti, I brought this. That restaurant is definitely not simple; it might be related to the organization’s objectives." Gin put down his cigarette and pulled out a micro cara from his chest, shook it at Vodka, then tucked it back away.
"As expected of big brother, always so thorough." Vodka felt a lot more relieved.
"Look." Gin leaned on the car door, staring intently at the wall in front of them. Unexpectedly, the wall began to ripple like the surface of water, and a wooden door suddenly appeared where there previously was none.
"Big brother..." Vodka looked on in amazent at the scene before him. Although he had witnessed it before, he was still extrely surprised.
"Got it recorded, let’s go in." Gin smirked coldly, then patted his pocket. For this occasion, he had specially purchased Japan’s top-grade beef, a delicacy that the restaurant’s manager should be pleased with, right?
"Welco to Dream Restaurant, esteed guests." Upon opening the door, the winged waitress ca over.
"Hmm, the sa dishes as last ti, but add one more dish for . Do you have natto now?" Gin sat down naturally, as if he wasn’t the one who had fired a gun the last ti.
"Sorry, dear custor, we still don’t have natto," Chen Ze popped his head out, glanced over, then spoke to Gin.
"I see, no problem, then just the dishes from last ti, plus one more dish... and add a serving for him too." Gin looked at Vodka, then added another sentence.
"Alright." Chen Ze nodded, and then began preparing the dishes they had ordered last ti, which he still rembered.
As for the additional dish, Chen Ze decided to make the paper-wrapped fried chicken, which was the current special. However, Chen Ze didn’t forget to have Betty bring out two servings of mango mousse; they had made too much yesterday and needed to deal with it promptly.
"Big brother... it’s really delicious." Vodka devoured the mango mousse in one bite, his face filled with satisfaction.
"Hmm... that’s not the main point of focus!" Gin nodded subconsciously, then looked at Vodka with a displeased face.
Are you still eating? The main point now is to get more information, okay?
