"Oh my God, Manager, what are you making? Why does it sll so bad?" Rose began to question her life choices.

Rose had co in today hoping to improve her mood since quite a few of her male Grey Elf servants had run off to that mysterious Hope City. However, the mont she walked in, she was greeted by a suffocating sll that even troubled Elves.

"Ah, Miss Rose, long ti no see! I just introduced this new dish today, Durian Chicken. Would you like to try it?" Seeing Rose, Chen Ze was quite happy since she was his first custor.

Although their first encounter wasn’t very pleasant, Chen Ze didn’t mind. If it weren’t for Rose’s visit, he wouldn’t have realized how his restaurant was different from the normal ones.

"Forget it. Just the sll of it is like the excrent of an Abyss Degenerate Dog, suffocating. I don’t think I’ll put that in my mouth." Rose grimaced, clearly unable to accept it physically.

"Tsk, I actually find it quite delicious. Okay then, what would you like to eat?" Chen Ze felt sowhat helpless. Why did every girl seem to hate the sll of durian, when it actually tasted quite nice?

Moreover, the System had given it a Superior Level rating, which was not bad at all — at least it was in the category of being sowhat tasty.

"I think I don’t want to eat anything until you get rid of that sll," Rose said as she sat down, her nose covered, a look of disgust on her face.

"Miss Rose and I seem to think alike. Here, Miss Rose, this is your chilled Coke." Betty smiled happily. Previously, when she saw Chen Ze eating Durian Chicken, she wondered if her own sense of taste was off. Chen Ze seed to enjoy it so much, but now that she saw Rose had the sa reaction, Betty felt reassured.

Chen Ze’s mouth twitched, but he still turned on the exhaust fan and casually finished the Durian Chicken himself; there wasn’t a better way to deal with it. After all, you can’t just throw it away, can you?

Wasting food is shaful.

"Betty, many of my manservants have run off now. I find that Hope City really annoying," Rose vented to Betty, her face full of dissatisfaction. After all, in the past, Rose had servants attending to her even when she went to the bathroom.

"Eh? I haven’t stayed in the negative plane for a long ti now; I really don’t know about that Hope City. Didn’t you complain to the Dark Council, Miss Rose?" Betty blinked.

"I did complain, but it was no use. A mber of the Dark Council told that complaints about Hope City had already filled a room, but none had been dealt with," Rose said helplessly.

"It must be because soone powerful is backing Hope City," was the only thought Betty had. In the negative plane, strength was the sole standard of status.

Moreover, Betty had already heard from Chen Ze that behind Hope City stood Hastur, an existence so powerful that it was unbelievable, and even ntioning His na could draw attention.

However, even though she knew this, Betty couldn’t possibly share this information with Rose because Hastur’s affairs were also highly confidential in the negative plane. Only Transcendents and other higher beings were privy to this knowledge.

"Sigh, if this keeps up, I’ll have only ten manservants left." Rose sighed, then sniffed the air. The sll had gone, which made her feel sowhat better.

"Manager, could you please serve today’s special recomndation?" Rose didn’t bother looking at the nu anymore. Whatever Chen Ze made always tasted good... except for the indiscernible thing just now.

"Um, sure," Chen Ze nodded. He was feeling quite full at the mont, a perfect ti to digest a bit.

Chen Ze twisted his neck, pondering what to make for today. He hadn’t prepared the manager’s special recomndation for a long ti, mainly because most custors had grown fond of a particular flavor, so they would order that dish instead of trying the much more random special recomndation of the day.

"What’s this..." Chen Ze suddenly noticed a bottle on the table that he hadn’t opened for a long ti. He used to eat stead buns with it, and he hadn’t realized so much ti had passed since he last picked it up.

"Fernted bean curd, right. There’s a dish called fernted bean curd pork trotters. It’s easy to make and overall, the taste is quite good," Chen Ze mused as he looked at the fernted bean curd in his hand.

Fernted bean curd is a delicious and cheap salty condint. Many people enjoy it because it’s convenient and can also be used in cooking.

Chen Ze opened the fridge and looked inside. Thankfully, there were a few pork trotters left, which he previously used to roast and eat.

The process for making fernted bean curd pork trotters was very simple, with just a few quick steps. Chen Ze skimd the thod before and still rembered it. He took out the pork trotters, cut them into pieces, blanched them, and after skimming off the foam, he added so cooking wine and ginger and spring onions.

But that wasn’t enough. Fernted bean curd pork trotters needed to be colored, so after Chen Ze caralized so rock sugar, he added the pork trotters, stir-fried them over high heat, and tried to coat them evenly with the caral.

Next, he dissolved the fernted bean curd, filtering out the impurities. While Chen Ze felt a few impurities wouldn’t matter, he removed them anyway to avoid affecting the final assessnt of the dish.

Then he mixed the filtered fernted bean curd in the pan, added boiling water, brought it to a boil, and then let it simr. Normally it required sixty minutes, but with Hastur’s Quadruple Speed Slate, Chen Ze needed only fifteen minutes.

While the pork trotters stewed in the pot, Chen Ze didn’t continue to watch over them. Instead, he started preparing the side dishes. After all, as tasty as fernted bean curd pork trotters were, a serving without vegetables wouldn’t be ideal.

After thinking for a bit, Chen Ze decided to stir-fry so bok choy as the vegetable side dish. Then he set it aside and began making dessert.

When the fifteen minutes were up, Chen Ze plated the fernted bean curd pork trotters and called Betty to serve the dish.

"What’s this?" Rose blinked, staring at the red dish in front of her.

"Fernted bean curd pork trotters. The manager says it’s today’s special," Betty swallowed, the aroma wafting from the dish was so enticing she was struggling to resist.

"Then let taste it. The manager’s cooking is always quite good, except for the first dish, what was it called, ’Clouds Over Gold,’" Rose chuckled, picked up a piece of pork trotter, and popped it into her mouth.
