At this mont, Conan had a lot on his mind; he even wondered, if this person from the Black Organization knew about him, why didn’t they just kill him right away?
And why hadn’t he seen Gin? Where exactly had things gone wrong that his true identity had been seen through?
"Conan, you’re acting so weird, is the curry not good?" Yuan Tai curiously took a bit of Conan’s curry and put it in his mouth.
"Yuan Tai! Don’t!" Conan imdiately stopped Yuan Tai; at that mont, he suddenly understood.
Why was it that only his and Xiao Ai’s curry was spicy? That was because they had already been targeted by soone from the organization, so they were deliberately given spicy curry.
With the Black Organization’s style, he and Xiao Ai probably couldn’t escape death, which ant the curry could very likely contain so other toxin.
"Ow!" Kojima Genta painfully clutched his throat, continuously kicking his legs.
"Yuan Tai? Yuan Tai!" Guanghan and Ayumi Yoshida anxiously pressed on Yuan Tai while Conan lowered his head and switched on his anesthetic watch; this was the only chance he had to turn the tables.
"You bastard!" Enraged at the sight of the poisoned Yuan Tai, Conan turned his head, aid at the man in black, and promptly fired the needle from his watch.
Did it hit? Conan was a bit excited; if he really managed to hit the target, there might still be a chance.
A light screen suddenly appeared, blocking the tranquilizer dart, which fell to the ground, just like Conan’s heart sinking.
"Conan!" Ayumi’s voice ca, but Conan didn’t intend to, or rather didn’t dare to, turn around.
Had he ultimately hard the people around him because of his own reasons?
"Conan!" With a sowhat angry tone.
"Conan, why did you get spicy curry?!" Yuan Tai’s voice. It wasn’t strange; Yuan Tai had already been...
What?
Surprised, Conan turned his head and then saw Yuan Tai drinking water; Ayumi and Guanghan were looking at him with puffed cheeks.
Xiao Ai also had a strange expression as she observed all this; for a mont, she thought she was going to die, well aware of how the organization dealt with traitors.
"Haha, how’s the taste of the curry?" Chen Ze chuckled as he took off his hat and opened his black suit to reveal the chef’s uniform underneath.
"Ah?" For the first ti, Conan felt his mind was a bit inadequate; he had assud he was going to die, especially since the Black Organization had discovered his true identity.
"Uncle, your cooking is really delicious!" Yuan Tai patted his stomach, totally satisfied; the eel rice was indeed exceptionally delicious.
"Mm-hmm, but why was Conan’s spicy?" Both Ayumi and Guanghan nodded, but Ayumi still asked with a puzzled look.
"I am a chef, after all. Isn’t it quite normal for to know what my custors like?" Chen Ze smiled proudly, then took off his black suit jacket and hung it over his arm.
"But..." Conan looked at Chen Ze oddly, but he had clearly heard Chen Ze reveal the real identities of him and Xiao Ai just before.
"Aren’t you going to eat your own curry first?" Chen Ze interrupted Conan.
This was the price of impulsiveness; on a whim, Chen Ze had cosplayed a mber of the Black Organization, but now he had to face the repercussions.
He surely couldn’t claim he was also a defector from the "wine factory", codena Er Guo Tou?
That would be nonsense, especially in front of Miyano Shiho, a bona fide forr employee of the "wine factory"; Chen Ze didn’t believe he could pull off that identity.
Although it seed like she was unaware of the specifics, one lie ant more lies had to be concocted to cover it up.
While Chen Ze was wrestling in the kitchen with how to handle the aftermath, Conan and Xiao Ai also finished their curry rice with odd expressions on their faces.
"Ready to check out?" Chen Ze erged and looked towards these young guests.
"Yes, Uncle, how much is it?" Yuan Tai spoke up first.
"Sorry, I don’t accept yen here, but if possible, you could use Conan’s watch to pay." Chen Ze said with a smile, looking at Conan.
Ever since Conan and his group had entered, Chen Ze had been pondering what to use for the al paynts.
First of all, the Teenage Detective Corps badge was out of the question. Chen Ze didn’t need it, and besides playing dress-up with it, it wasn’t very aningful.
As for the shoes...although they also counted as high tech, firstly Chen Ze couldn’t wear them, and secondly, he didn’t want to wear soone else’s shoes. Moreover, letting Conan go back barefoot didn’t seem right either.
As for the soccer-on-the-belt or the tracking glasses, Chen Ze wasn’t very interested in those, either. The anesthesia watch, on the other hand, had so sentintal value.
After all, Mouri Kogoro had been shot with anesthesia needles by Conan so many tis that he couldn’t even pass a security check later on, but he was still going strong, which could be considered high tech.
"A watch? Why does the uncle want Conan’s watch?" Guanghan asked curiously.
"Because my restaurant isn’t ordinary. Once you go out, you’ll see the door to my restaurant disappear, so compared to useless paper, the watch suits better." Chen Ze finally decided to tell the truth.
"Eh?" Yuan Tai imdiately ran outside, curious, and then closed the door behind him.
After a while, Yuan Tai still hadn’t co back, and the Teenage Detective Corps badge showed no reaction either.
"This is my watch, but may I ask a question?" Conan handed over his watch to Chen Ze, feeling that Chen Ze had no need to lie.
"Loved, keeps big, saves you." Chen Ze took the watch, looked it over with joy.
"..." Xiao Ai almost couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
Conan looked at Chen Ze with a deadpan expression. What a strange response.
"If you have any questions, co back next ti and ask." Looking at Ayumi and the others, Chen Ze suggested, and Conan imdiately understood what Chen Ze ant.
"I don’t think I will co again." Conan looked blankly at Chen Ze, even suspecting that his parents might be playing tricks on him again.
But considering Betty’s chest... it probably wasn’t his mom.
"???" Suddenly, Betty felt like she had been offended.
"No, you will co." Chen Ze was confident; he felt Conan wouldn’t be able to resist the temptation, with his curiosity and questions driving him to return.
Moreover...
Watching the Teenage Detective Corps getting ready to leave, Chen Ze added one more thing.
"Oh, by the way, Professor Jas Moriarty is also a regular here." Chen Ze shalessly put the professor, who’d only co twice, into the category of a frequent custor.
Conan paused, looked back at Chen Ze, and then walked out with the other mbers of the Teenage Detective Corps.
"Wow! The wooden door really disappeared!" Conan touched the wall in front of him, and had he not been sure he wasn’t poisoned, he might have thought he’d eaten sothing hallucinogenic.
"You’re going to go, right?" Xiao Ai asked, hands behind her back, looking at the wall in front of her.
"Mm."
