Chen Ze sat on the plane, pondering over the experiences of the past two days. It had to be said that a mom was always a mom–she easily brought Dad to heel.
"However, I did get to eat so pretty good food. I think my restaurant could introduce so new dishes, and it’s about ti to update the nu," Chen Ze rubbed his chin, then closed his eyes.
Over these few days, Chen Ze had truly experienced a triple dose of motherly love.
There’s a certain kind of fullness that cos when your mom thinks you haven’t eaten enough, and Chen Ze could deeply relate to that. During the two days at ho, he felt like he had eaten enough for an entire week.
All kinds of dishes, such as pork belly cooked in foil, lemon chicken, ghost chicken, pilaf... Chen Ze had once again eaten his mother’s cooking outside of the New Year festivities.
But just like that, Chen Ze’s trip ho concluded, and oddly enough, he was looking forward to it. After all, it had been a long ti since he had seen Lafra, and once he left the restaurant, the magic communication crystal that Lafra had given him was completely useless.
Whether it was an issue with the restaurant or whether the world’s resistance to magic was still too strong, he didn’t know.
When Chen Ze returned to Sun Moon City, it was already noon.
Chen Ze pushed open his small door, placed a large pile of stuff his mother had given him in his bedroom, changed clothes, and then locked the front door of the restaurant.
"Oh, Sensei! You’ve finally opened up. I thought you weren’t ho," Naruto said as he pushed the door open just as Chen Ze had locked it.
"Naruto, you’re quite early today," Chen Ze clapped his hands. He truly hadn’t expected Naruto to be the first one to arrive—he had thought it would be Betty.
"Sensei! I’ve already mastered the Tornado. I didn’t know what to do, so I ca to look for the teacher," Naruto glanced at the chairs; they weren’t dusty despite two days of the doors being closed.
"Then sit down and wait. I’ve already called Lafra," Chen Ze said with a smile, taking out a broom. He needed to clean up first.
"Sensei, let help you," Naruto imdiately ca over, grabbed a rag, and started to help Chen Ze clean.
After cleaning, Chen Ze still hadn’t seen Betty arrive, but his girlfriend showed up first instead.
"Darling, you haven’t been open for so long... Little Naruto?" Lafra, dressed in full regalia, looked particularly enticing.
"Hehe, Naruto said he’s mastered the Tornado and now doesn’t know what to do next. You two chat for a bit. I’m going to make sothing for you and Naruto to eat," Chen Ze took out a headscarf and tied it around his head.
Having not touched his kitchen tools for a day or two, Chen Ze was starting to feel a bit twitchy.
"Teacher!" Naruto looked at Lafra excitedly, then, showing off, he conjured a small Tornado in the palm of his hand.
"That Old Man didn’t make any trouble when he went back, did he?" Lafra complinted Naruto a few tis, then looked at him seriously.
"No, teacher, let’s start learning the next magic!" Naruto was eager to learn new magic. There was a boy called Sasuke at school who always attracted the girls’ screams and received more attention from the teachers.
Naruto was not pleased with that, which also led him to look at Sasuke with a hint of hostility.
"Well, next, I’ll teach you another magic. A Magician should have ans of defense. Use the wind elent and construct in your heart..." Lafra patiently instructed Naruto, who listened attentively.
Standing in the kitchen, Chen Ze decided to use the ingredients he’d bought on the way ho. He planned to make a fish slaw, followed by a dish of pork belly and sour bamboo chicken.
Sanpei is the easiest thing to make, as long as the ingredients are complete, Chen Ze felt the process wouldn’t take more than ten minutes.
He blanched the thin rice noodles, lifted them out, and arranged them on a plate, then all that was left was to prepare the seasonings needed for the sanpei.
Chen Ze hesitated a mont but still prepared a bitter sanpei and a lemon sanpei; not too clear on Lafra’s and Naruto’s preferences, he simply made both.
[You made an ordinary sanpei, Huaxia Cuisine experience has increased by 3 points.]
A standard notification, but Chen Ze was still a little dissatisfied; he had thought at the very least he could make a decent dish, yet it turned out to be an ordinary sanpei.
"Up next is the pork belly and sour bamboo shoots chicken," said Chen Ze as he set the sanpei aside; he had to continue with the other dishes.
Chen Ze had so experience with pork belly; just by adding pickled vegetable paste, he could make an excellent braised pork belly, although the paste was ant for dipping.
However, Chen Ze left this dish for last because braised pork belly was sothing that needed to be eaten hot and quickly, otherwise, it wouldn’t taste good once cooled.
"It looks like the result is not bad?" Chen Ze brought out the three dishes, placing them on the table, glanced at Naruto who was in ditation, then handed Lafra a can of cola.
"Mm, Little Naruto has decent talent," Lafra said with a smile, taking a sip of cola, then curiously inspecting what Chen Ze had laid out on the table.
"Wake Naruto up, it’s ti to eat," Chen Ze said as he sat down too.
"Master, thank you for the al," Naruto said cheerfully, picking up his chopsticks and going for a piece of pork belly first.
However, before he could put it in his mouth, Chen Ze stopped him.
"Naruto, try dipping it in this," Chen Ze pointed at the dark brown pickled vegetable paste on the table.
"Okay, Master." If it had been soone else, like the old man Third Hokage asking him to eat this oddly colored stuff, he might have hesitated, but Chen Ze was different.
"It’s really tasty!" Naruto exclaid joyfully, looking at Chen Ze, the pork belly dipped in the dark brown stuff had beco even more delicious.
The sour and spicy flavor balanced the greasiness of the pork belly and enhanced the overall taste of the at, which greatly satisfied Naruto.
"Dear, the flavor of this san... sanpei is really good," Lafra said, pleased, particularly finding the bitter version quite to her liking.
"Thank you, it’s a dish I plan to add to the nu," Chen Ze said as he picked up a piece of sour bamboo shoot chicken with his chopsticks to taste it.
The sour flavor, infused with the taste of the bamboo shoots, was a bit odd but could still be considered tasty.
"Right, my Edelman Wild Boar tail!" Chen Ze suddenly rushed into the kitchen, rembering sothing very important.
Although he had switched from Quadruple Speed to Double Speed before returning ho, two days at double ti ant four days had passed.
Chen Ze hastily lifted the lid of the pot and quickly added so more marinade and water, while a unique and tempting fragrance instantly filled the air from the pot.
