"So, what exactly happened?" Chen Ze tossed the potatoes and beef his clone had chopped into the pot.
This ti, Chen Ze was planning to cook a pot of beef and potato stew, but it needed to be cooked for a longer ti to make the potatoes soft and the beef easy to eat.
"It’s probably about that old man wanting to learn magic, and then realizing he has no talent for practicing magic." Betty summarized briefly.
Chen Ze paused with the seasoning in hand, wondering if there was finally soone else who couldn’t practice magic?
Every ti Chen Ze rembered how he had wanted to practice magic and ended up practicing loneliness instead, he felt like crying without tears.
Especially after Naruto could easily sense magical energy, Chen Ze’s despair grew, and the shadow over his heart began to expand exponentially.
Now, hearing that Hiruzen Sarutobi, the ninjutsu expert, also lacked the talent to practice, Chen Ze felt inexplicably cheerful.
This was probably the sense of relief one feels when discovering soone else is in the sa boat, right?
"Manager?" Betty, seeing the daydreaming manager, quickly called out.
"Eh? Oh, it’s nothing, it’s nothing." Chen Ze added the seasonings and began to simr the beef and potatoes.
"Darling, what are you making?" Lafra squeezed into the kitchen too, and Betty imdiately backed out, not wanting to be a third wheel.
"Beef and potato stew. Where’s Naruto?" Chen Ze adjusted the heat, then glanced at the restaurant where Naruto was no longer present.
"He went back with the village chief. Naruto’s collection of magic power is still lacking. I told him to wait until he can control Tornado with ease before learning the next spell." Lafra lay on Chen Ze’s back, like a sloth.
"You sll like booze. Did you have a drink?" Lafra sniffed, noting that aside from a light sll of cooking fus, there was a distinct aroma of alcohol on Chen Ze.
"Not drinking. I was planning to brew so liquor, but I’m not quite sure how to go about it." Chen Ze was a bit disheartened as brewing wine wasn’t like following a recipe.
Moreover, Chen Ze wanted to brew a decent-tasting wine, but only after starting did he realize many ingredients were missing.
thods like distillation, grain alcohols—he was dizzy just looking at them.
"Brewing wine?" Lafra’s expression grew strange.
"Yes, because there’s no wine in the restaurant, but custors often want to drink. The only thing I can offer is this." Chen Ze gestured towards the Water of Life on the counter.
This thing couldn’t really be called wine anymore; it might be more appropriate to just call it alcohol.
"Try this." Lafra stretched out her hand, taking a bottle of wine from her Magic Space Pocket, then used magical energy to form a wine glass and poured Chen Ze a cup.
Chen Ze took the cup in surprise. The wine was blood red, fitting Lafra’s taste perfectly and had a very pleasant aroma.
Chen Ze took a slow sip. The flavor was unexpectedly good, with a hint of sweetness but without the burn of hard liquor or the weird taste of foreign spirits.
The aroma was also rich, leaving a lasting aftertaste. Just one sip and the flavor still lingered in Chen Ze’s mouth.
This prompted Chen Ze to take another sip. The taste was truly excellent, and he really liked it.
"What is this?" Chen Ze was a bit shocked. To him, a person who seldom drank, this was an exceptionally fine wine.
"Hmph~" Lafra turned her head, wearing a face that said, co on, praise .
"Lafra, is this your bar? The taste is really amazing; I’ve never had such delicious alcohol," Chen Ze praised sincerely.
"It... It’s not! This is not the alcohol I brewed... If it weren’t... If it weren’t for seeing you so troubled..." Lafra’s face turned beet red, making her look exceptionally cute.
"Anyway, anyway, I have plenty of alcohol here, this is mine too, so I’ll give it to you, now hurry up and thank ," Lafra said, fidgeting with her shoes.
"Hehe, my girlfriend is so aweso!" Chen Ze happily picked up Lafra and spun her around.
Betty pouted, this was Lady Lafra after all, a being whose might was known throughout the entire negative plane, even Lord Stan would say, "Your girlfriend is really aweso!"
Eh? Sothing seems off? Betty imdiately shook her head, what a joke, if Lady Lafra found out, she might as well dig her own grave.
"Lafra, can you brew beer?" Chen Ze looked at Lafra expectantly. They now had high-proof alcohol, but they were still missing so beer.
Beer was an essential part of eating barbecue. A chilled beer paired with hot skewers was simply heavenly.
"Beer? What is that?" Lafra looked puzzled. She had never heard of such a thing.
"It’s pale yellow, pours out with lots of bubbles, and doesn’t have a very high alcohol content..." Chen Ze described it simply.
"Oh, that. You’re talking about ale," Lafra nodded. One of her Death Knights particularly loved ale and would only drink the Dwarf-made Thunderbrew Lager.
"Then please help get so next ti," Chen Ze suddenly found a solution to his problem, which improved his mood even more.
"Sure, but what kind of ale do you want?" Lafra asked, nodding.
"Sothing popular, cheaper," Chen Ze felt that beer should be more affordable.
"Then I’ll ask..." Chen Ze paused, a stream of mories had suddenly flooded in, leaving a tingling sensation in his hands.
Chen Ze turned his head and saw that, as expected, his shadow clone had disappeared, leaving behind a heap of neatly chopped ingredients.
"What’s wrong?" Lafra looked at Chen Ze with concern.
Chen Ze gazed at Lafra’s face, suddenly realizing, wasn’t he not being good enough to Lafra?
Although he was Lafra’s boyfriend, they hardly spent ti together. Normally, he was always busy cooking and such.
Lafra looked at Chen Ze curiously. His face was a bit red, as if he had drunk too much alcohol.
Could that be? Lafra hesitated. She knew her own alcohol; she could drink a bottle a day without a problem. Chen Ze couldn’t possibly be drunk after just one glass, could he?
Chen Ze shook his head; he felt a bit dizzy.
"Darling, are you okay?" Lafra supported Chen Ze with worry, wishing she hadn’t let him drink.
"Lafra, this is for you... um... a gift..." Chen Ze saw three Lafras before his eyes.
How could Lafra also know the Shadow Clone Jutsu?
Chen Ze’s last mory was of him pulling out a leaf, handing it to a surprised Lafra, and then putting the leaf on Lafra himself.
